Chapter 192: Episode 70 Farewell for Now
Ratris City, the capital of the Dark Elves, a place in all of Anriel’s history that no outsider dared to desecrate, is the scene of something astonishing.
On the second floor of the "Tavern" inn, in an ordinary guest room, a group of beings from the surface are looking at two Dark Elves lying in a pool of blood. Their expressions are relaxed, chatting and laughing as if they were standing in the Judgment Hall of Light God Pate instead of the dark depths of the underground. It’s as if under Pate’s guidance, they executed two evil dark creatures, and everything seems natural.
Only the little angel Soka is hiding in the corner of the room, fearfully looking at the bodies on the ground. Her thick robe is trembling slightly, her eyes revealing the terror in her heart, wide open but unable to look away from the two corpses.
Hearing the laughter of the Half-Beastman Mep, Soka finally shifts her gaze. She moves her legs, wanting to run to the Half-Beastman’s side, which is the place she usually uses to avoid danger. But to reach that safe spot, she inevitably has to pass by the corpses of the two Dark Elves, and her foot remains suspended in mid-air, unable to move forward.
Seeing all this, Lynch approaches her, pats her golden hair, and gently says, "Little sister, are you scared?"
Soka stares at Lynch with wide eyes, her blue pupils as fresh and bright as the sky after a rain. She squeezes her eyes hard, trying to hide the moisture in them. She speaks softly but stubbornly, "Black Robe Brother, I’m not scared."
"That’s good, here, this is for you." Lynch takes out a Ruby from his pocket, with a golden vortex continuously spinning in its center. Upon closer inspection, the vortex seems like a collection of countless twinkling stars; but in a blur, those stars merge into a stream of water, indistinguishable from one another.
"So beautiful!" Soka’s attention is completely drawn to the gemstone, holding it in front of her eyes with both hands, examining it over and over. "Black Robe Brother, is this really for me?"
"Just hold onto it." Lynch happily watches the joyful little girl in front of him. Soka seems to be the blue sky itself, and even in the darkest underground world, her pure demeanor can release a weary soul from the oppressive weight of rock, back under the boundless blue sky, bringing relief, relaxation, and joy.
"If bad people appear, just hold the gemstone and recite the spell, and bad people won’t see you." Lynch pointed at the Ruby and said, "The spell’s command is simple, it’s ’You can’t see me.’ Do you understand?"
"Yes! You can’t see me!" As soon as Soka finished the sentence, the Ruby emitted a pale golden light, and the little angel suddenly disappeared in front of everyone.
Everyone widened their eyes to find the little angel, but aside from the mage Lynch, no one could see Soka’s shadow.
"Detect Invisibility!" The normally reticent Priest Joe of the adventure team used a spell. He looked around but still wore a puzzled expression.
Joe thought for a moment and took out a scroll from his backpack.
Lynch reached out to stop him, "Priest sir, are you trying to use True Knowledge Skill? No need to test it, even if you use True Knowledge Skill, you might not find her."
Just like when she vanished, Soka reappeared in front of everyone with a swish, her excited little face flushed, "Wow! Was I invisible just now, was I?"
"Yes, you were invisible just now. The priest even tried to detect you but didn’t find you. Was it fun?"
"Yes!" Soka continuously rubbed the red gemstone with her small hands, deciding in her heart: even when sleeping, she’ll hold this fun stone.
"Mage sir, how did you achieve that?" Priest Joe carefully put away the scroll and then asked.
"Besides advanced invisibility, that gemstone will also automatically use misdirection and suggestion on anyone attempting to detect her. All anti-invisibility efforts will see the illusion of air and still won’t find her true location."
"Oh!" "Wow!" The crowd couldn’t help but express admiration, though the Beastman still seemed confused, while the eyes of the Halfling Wanderer William gleamed with excitement.
"In that case, Soka will be safe staying by your side." Priest Joe approached the little angel, took a cloth bundle from his pocket, untied the red thread on it, and unfolded the cloth, revealing a pure white feather lying at the center of the blue cloth bundle.
