Chapter 107: Episode 33 Bait_3
Lynch waved his hand, indicating he didn’t want to hear the man’s self-aggrandizing sales pitch. He walked straight to the side of the tent and carefully examined the long sticks in front of him.
Deluo and Nimo followed him in, but it was obvious that the warrior had no interest in anything other than weapons, simply standing there tapping his toes on the ground; while Nimo, on the other hand, was attracted by the strange and peculiar items here, examining them one by one. However, the Dwarf’s discerning eye was sharp, and he saw that most of the items here were just pieces knocked off ancient structures, placed here for sale. Their so-called value lay in the broken designs on them, meant to deceive ignorant customers.
Lynch picked up a Black Iron Long Stick and walked up to the Gray Dwarf: "How much for this one?"
The second-hand goods seller thought to himself, this black-robed buyer must want to find out the prices by picking a random item first before buying something he really wants. If he starts the price too high, the buyer might just leave. Even though the seller felt unfamiliar with the iron stick, it was among the pile of cheap goods. So he named a price: "Fifty Gold Coins."
Lynch smiled. Such a small amount of money didn’t require Nimo to trade any of his gemstones; he simply counted fifty Gold Coins from his pocket and placed them into the seller’s hand. The three of them turned around and left.
Watching the person who didn’t care at all about dozens of Gold Coins leave, the Hunchback Grey Dwarf was full of regret.
However, Deluo and Nimo couldn’t understand why Lynch wanted to buy that iron stick, so they asked the Mage after leaving the place.
"It is a Powerful Wand, or at least it used to be one. A fine item, only Great Mages could craft such things. It was lucky to find it today."
"But didn’t you say you can’t use ordinary Mage items?" Nimo remembered how Lynch almost got burned by his internal energy last time, and there were no ice towers around to cool a Mage’s body temperature now, "Won’t it be dangerous?"
"Don’t worry, the Magic in this wand has been used up. In the hands of ordinary people, it’s entirely useless, at best a research piece for wand-making. But in my hands, I can make it regain power."
"Wow! So you can fix it? Lynch, you’ve already reached the level of a Great Mage? That’s amazing!" Nimo was in a great mood since he hadn’t spent any beautiful gemstones or exquisite items today.
"No, not yet. I’m still some distance from the level of a Great Mage. But in the matter of crafting items, they are not as skilled as I am. But I find it strange, how could there be a Powerful Wand here?"
On the other hand, in a library under the Black Crystal Tower, two Dark Elves were watching images through a Crystal Ball.
The images weren’t clear, but they could barely make out the owner of the scene—a young Mage in a dark purple robe holding a black long stick.
"Master, he indeed found that hidden wand. It seems he truly is a powerful spellcaster, very sensitive to magical auras..."
"Yes, it appears you’ll need to expedite your actions. Such a Mage cannot fall into that family’s hands."
"What should we do? I don’t think this outsider will be easy to handle."
"Don’t worry, I’ve secretly implanted the energy of a tracking spell into the old wand. Since he’s taken the bait, he won’t escape from our grasp."
"Yes, the poor little fish who took the bait..."
