Both of them were now standing a few meters away from each other, according to Selena’s rule they were not allowed to be close so Ethan’s plan to use his fire cloak was useless.

But since he had limitless Mana this would be a good time to cast his spells in rapid succession and see how it turns out.

The princess took a stance and immediately the snow beneath her began to melt but it wasn’t heat.

"Wait... isn’t this cheating, the princess has an affinity to water and we are in an ice domain?" Ethan asked.

"That’s why I’m sharing my Mana so you have a limitless supply to combat her, this isn’t a win or lose duel, just showcase your skills, and start" Selena spoke.

’Since I have excess mana, might as well pull up all stops’

Ethan created a large gust of wind and used it to increase the range and power of his flame and shot it toward Isabella.

"Wow, he really wasn’t lying but still, fire isn’t enough to stop me"

Isabella moved forward with her hands following a precise motion as she raised both of them up.

A large amount of water was created in front of the princess and with a motion she sent it towards the large flame created by Ethan, both of the spells collided and canceled each other creating a large amount of fog.

Before any of them could make a move the fog immediately vanished like it was never there, "No cheating" Selena shouted.

Ethan looked towards Isabella who was also looking at him smiling immediately his eyes looked downward and both of his legs were wrapped in water like chains.

The flame spell Ethan cast melted the snow and ice in front of him creating more water and Isabella wasted no time in capturing him with it.

"I win" Isabella shouted as she stretched her hands and the chains dragged his legs falling him to the ground as he was dragged towards an even large water.

"Shit..."

[Fire Cloak]

Ethan’s entire body exploded into flames and melted the chains on his legs, immediately he stood up and stopped the spell quickly moving away from the water he created on the ground.

’This is definitely cheating, I can’t use my flames well because it’ll just create more weapons for her’

"I didn’t know he had a spell like that, and he hasn’t even joined the academy, how is he this powerful, wait is that why master canceled close combat because he’s going to beat me at it" Isabella mumbled as Ethan moved to another area without water.

[Water wave]

Isabella placed one of her legs forward and stretched both her hands forward and the ice around her all melted forming a large wave of water moving towards Ethan.

[Wind cutter, Wind cutter, Wind cutter]

Ethan stretched his hands and created a thin line of sharp wind and shot all three toward the large wave Isabella created.

[Wind gust, Fireball]

Ethan created the large flame he created earlier as he was sure his wind cutter would not work, he just wanted to see if it would and it didn’t, instead of stopping the wave the wind cutter just slashed it a little before dying out but his large fireball did the trick canceling the spell and forming more fog.

[Aero blades]

Ethan had learned his lesson and quickly moved away from the water he created but he shot three of his wind blades towards Isabella before moving away.

Once again Selena stopped the fog and Ethan saw a wall of ice in front of Isabella with two dents created by his blades.

The wall crumbled as the fog disappeared and Ethan could see a little drop of blood from her arm evidence that one of his aero blades touched her though just barely.

"This won’t work, close combat is now allowed, let’s get this over with" Selena shouted.

’Close combat, I’m sure she won’t charge towards me and my sword is too powerful, I can’t injure her anymore, wait Selena can heal her right’ Ethan muttered as his eyes widened.

Isabella was charging towards him with two ice swords in her hands, for a mage her agility was excellent coupled with her ability to walk on water so running on snow and ice was child’s play for her.

"Damn..." Ethan quickly opened his storage ring and brought out his sword, since she was using weapons then she might be able to avoid injury.

"So he has swords, okay then..." Isabella increased the strength of her ice sword till it was as strong as steel so it would be able to withstand Ethan’s sword.

Within seconds both of them were in front of each other and Isabella struck first swinging her sword with all the strength she could muster and Ethan quickly parried the attack with his sword.

Both of them began to exchange blows with Isabella on the attack and Ethan on the defensive as she kept unleashing attack after attack.

Ethan continued blocking her attacks while planning the perfect counter and immediately his opportunity opened up as Isabella moved backward to refocus.

Since this was now close combat, Isabella was getting a little tired and moved backward before charging again, and this time instead of Ethan attacking he chose to block her attack and once again Isabella thought he couldn’t attack.

[Ignite]

Ethan’s sword caught on fire and as both of their swords collided, both of Isabella’s ice swords were cut in half.
