Ethan quickly took his stance and set his eyes on the girl coming at him, she was fast but for Ethan, it was normal as he readied himself.

In a moment the girl was in front of him and she swung both of her swords at his neck, Ethan quickly used his sword to party the attack and jumped backward as she stood there.

"Showing me more reasons you are a demon, a first-year student at the mage academy using a sword, and is strong enough to block my attack with that sword, it’s impossible" she muttered as she took a deep breath.

Ethan couldn’t even speak as he focused on her, just now she aimed at his neck and swung with full power meaning she was going for the kill, if he didn’t defend himself then he would most definitely die down here.

(I guess I was wrong about her strength, your hands are shaking)

Ethan created a barrier in front of himself and the girl stopped, the swords in her hands vanished and a smile appeared on her face.

"Fire become my shield and protect me, fire become my spear and strike my enemies, Flame cloak" she muttered as a cloak of flame enveloped her entire body.

Ethan’s flame cloak couldn’t hold a candle to hers, her flame was burning brightly and her entire body was covered, the flame formed a Knight’s armor on her body and then her swords appeared in her hands.

(Well I think we’re fucked)

(Uhmm...ummm...first use a flame cloak and ignite on your sword, then use your wind magic, just do lots of things to overwhelm her so she starts thinking before attacking)

Flame burst out from Ethan’s body and covered almost his entire body except for his face, hands, and legs, then his sword caught on fire and he took a step forward.

"So you are finally ready, I heard demons burn when they die, I’ll love to see that" she spoke and charged forward with even more speed than last time.

Ethan also charged forward without fear and both of them clashed, Ethan could feel the heat of her flames as he blocked her attack, she moved back and swung her sword again but Ethan had no problem blocking it then one of her swords vanished and she held the single one with both of her hands.

’I hope she’s not busy’ Ethan muttered.

*CLANG!!*

Both of their swords clashed and Ethan could feel the weight behind her attack, she quickly pulled back and unleashed a barrage of attacks that Ethan blocked till he couldn’t keep up with her and moved backward but she struck faster and injured his right arm.

Ethan clenched his teeth as he felt a burning pain in his hands, if this continues he was definitely going to die and since he was down here, no one from the academy was going to save him.

The girl smiled and charged forward again, to her Ethan was a weak demon who she was going to end.

Ethan cast his barrier before raising his sword, the girl struck the barrier and it broke in a single strike and she launched towards Ethan and struck.

Ethan used his sword to block but the strength behind her strike was heavy and with his hand injured Ethan couldn’t hold the sword and it flew out of his hands and Ethan fell to the ground, his ignite stopped and his flame cloak died out.

The girl was now walking towards Ethan who was moving backward and raised her sword to strike.

"Fuck you bitch!!" Ethan shouted and closed his eyes as she struck but nothing happened and he opened his eyes and saw her some meters away from him.

The girl’s flame cloak vanished and even she was surprised as she looked at Ethan, "What the hell was that?" She shouted.

"I wanted to kill you right away but I have some questions" a familiar voice spoke from behind the girl and she quickly turned around.

Ethan let out a sigh of relief as his plan worked, Cynthia was standing there with an angry look on her face and her sword in one hand.

"More demons" the girl muttered.

"Who the hell did you call a demon" Cynthia snorted as she clenched her sword.

"Wait, don’t kill her, this is the mage academy research lab underground, she’s part of the research department" Ethan shouted and both of them turned towards him.

"Then why was she trying to kill you?" Cynthia asked.

"For some reason, she’s convinced I’m a demon, I just saw the door open on my way back from the library and entered and she thinks I came to destroy this crystal" Ethan spoke.

"Why the hell would you think that, isn’t he a student here?" Cynthia walked towards the girl.

The girl clenched her sword tightly and Cynthia stopped, immediately a portal opened in front of her and she stepped inside and then came out in front of Ethan, this time with Lara.

"Take care of her, but don’t knock her out" Cynthia spoke and lightning covered Lara’s entire body and the girl’s sword vanished.

"Wait, I know you, you are Miss Lara" the girl muttered and Lara stopped.

"You know me well that’s good for you, I’m still going to punch you in the face for what you did"

"I didn’t know he..." Before the girl could finish speaking she felt herself falling as Lara punched her in the face.

"Good, now you can explain" Lara spoke but immediately she jumped backward as a blast of flame hit the wall and exploded.
