lucky spin system
Chapter 25: TRAIL

Chapter 25: TRAIL

Kai took a long sip from the icy can, the chill of the drink oddly comforting as the cold wind brushed against his skin. His breath formed light mist, but the frost didn’t bite him—it made him feel calm and relaxed with a light smile.

He leaned against the crystalline railing of his quarters, staring at the snow-dusted training ground below. Tomorrow’s trial wouldn’t be like the entrance exams. This time, it was against others, who are more monstereus than him.

They also Monarch-Class Token Holders.

So they were not some weakling and some have even more power than him.

Some born with celestial blessings.

Others bearing ancient techniques.

And some... trained from birth to be weapons.

Kai clenched the can in his hand, the metal crumpling slightly. He knew the system didn’t hand out missions lightly. If the reward was a lucky spin, he could get a skill or ability from University like marvel and dc, anime so on.

"System," he whispered mentally, "Can you show me the participant list."

Processing the request: yes host but for this feature system need to undergo another update host.

Kai’s eyebrows furrowed as he looks at the message

Another update system? I thought this was the final as every spin reward was from multiverse.

’’Ding’’

No host there is another update to the system.

But as this was first request from the host i will give the answer,

Only for onces.

Said with its same emotionless voice from the system.

7. Sylis Drayne – Title: [Ancient Monk’s Disciple]

Seven names. All monsters in their own right.

Kai’s eyes narrowed at the last name — Leor.

"So he was in too," he muttered. "Good. I’ll face them head-on."

This time, I was the one who speaks.

The Next Morning ~~

The sun barely peeked over the horizon when a deep chime echoed across the Inner Sanctum.

Kai was meditating with his eyes closed trying to complete the last pillar but last one was no easy one, he got up clad in the academy’s dark-blue trial robes, laced with silver veins of mana-reactive thread. His Monarch-Class token glowed softly on his chest.

Instructor Velura appeared beside him, her expression unreadable as ever.

"Follow," she said simply.

They walked in silence through glowing corridors,

Instructor what kind of trail? Is it going to be said kai.

But to no avail she didn’t even respond just when kai she didn’t hear it, she spokes if I were you i would look after my opponent said the instructor.

As they past sealed gates, until they reached the heart of the trial zone—The Mirror Void.

A vast arena that bent space itself. There are Eight portal pathways shifted at random. Illusions, spirit beasts, and ancient remnants of past challengers lingered inside. It wasn’t just a test of strength—but mind, adaptability, and survival.

The other seven participants were already there, standing in a circle around a hovering core.

Vaelis, cloaked in smoke-like robes, gave Kai a single glance and smirked.

Zarien cracked his knuckles, lightning crackling around his arms.

Ilya stood serene, her silver eyes glowing faintly.

Leor didn’t even hide his hatred.

Sylis—tall, lean, with the calm expression of a monk, one arm forming a half-pradana mudra—just nodded respectfully.

Velura raised her hand.

"The rules are simple. Survive, adapt, then dominate the hidden realm. You will all be dropped into the different Mirror Voids.

The ranking will be based on— the one who conquers the Trial Core fastest — will be declared the top."

She paused, eyes scanning everyone and once she nodded her head to everyone she open the portal.

"And remember... nothing inside is what it seems like."

The ground shimmered.

Light swallowed them all.

The Monarch-Class Trial had begun.

---

Inside the Mirror Void:

After being sucked by the portal kai was now in the volcanic realm where everything was made of fire and lava.

Kai was in the edge of the realm laying motionless on the ground.

The searing heat licked at Kai’s skin, though his body instinctively resisted the worst of it. Lava rivers pulsed through the cracked terrain, and the very air shimmered with the fury of the realm.

Kai’s eyes fluttered open.

His vision blurred before sharpening, revealing crimson skies and an ocean of fire. He groaned, slowly pushing himself up from the jagged stone.

What was this place and so damn hot.

Kai observing the place it was filled with lave and erupting fire from time to time.

The hell it was a "Volcanic Realm... not ideal at all," he muttered.

His Monarch-Class token flickered faintly, reacting to the intense mana of the area. The trial had begun, and the Mirror Void had already chosen its challenge—one that he need to survive and complete the tra.

Suddenly, the ground beneath him trembled.

A beast emerged from the lava, its body formed of molten rock and flame. Its eyes were molten gold, locked onto Kai with primal hunger.

> [System Alert: Trial Beast Detected — Rank: Tier 5 Elemental Core Beast — Name: Pyrothane]

> [Hidden Task Unlocked: Defeat the Beast Without Using Ice-Based Techniques.]

Kai’s eyes narrowed.

He cracked his knuckles, letting his energy flow through his veins. The frost within his blood stirred, eager to be unleashed—but the task said no ice.

So be it.

He took a breath and activated Flowing Wind Steps, his body vanishing in a blur just as the beast lunged forward. Its claws raked across stone, carving a molten path where he once stood.

Kai reappeared behind it, striking with raw force—Phantom Edge igniting along his fist in translucent energy.

Boom!!!

The blow staggered the beast, sending chunks of flaming rock scattering.

But it wasn’t down.

Not yet.

The creature roared, swinging its tail like a whip of fire. Kai dodged, skimming over the terrain like wind on water. Every move was calculated—every breath controlled.

This wasn’t just a test of power.

It was endurance, creativity, adaptability.

Just like Instructor Velura warned.

Adapt. Survive. Dominate.

As the beast opened its maw to launch a magma wave, Kai activated Shadow Bind, a rare utility skill he gained from a past spin.

Black tendrils erupted from the ground, anchoring the beast momentarily.

Kai charged, his "chi" was surging. "Let’s end this."

He twisted mid-air, channeling the "chi" into his strike—
