Limitless The Strongest Revenant
Chapter 1042 - 1042: Our baby [1/2]

Lilly and the Sirens on kidnapping duty proceeded to grill me hard. But as I knew shit, I directed them to Exa. After all, I didn't do shit beyond asking her to do it. They all froze for a second, but then I suddenly received a weird message from Exa.

[This is your last freebie.]

"Huh?"

Before I could react, I heard a loud thrum. One of the soulgears I fabricated began to come alive. Its doors began to spin like a fan as they glowed with soul.

[Gate of Irkalla Unit Two is now online.]

From the corner of my eye, I saw Bella nodding in approval. It seems like unit two was already powered by Carlos. A moment later, the same sound resonated, but this time it was for unit three.

[Gate of Irkalla Unit Three is now online.]

"Good grief, Dearest, you really surprise me. As if the soultech wasn't enough! How on earth did you duplicate the Gate of Irkalla? None of us could {Replicate} it! And it took over three weeks to build! You really are a cheat. You were supposed to be taking it easy!"

At Lilly's complaint, she touched the temple of her mask. Even though her face was covered, I could see her expressions using {Imaging}. It was a mixture of frustration and pride.

The other Sirens said nothing. They were too busy adding their new acquisition to my pile of corpses.

"Possum, why are none of these cunts up yet?"

"What else? There is only one thing Shujin would prioritize over his work."

"Haha, just from Jo and Bella's expressions, you know they had a great time earlier. Beloved really can't keep his hands off any of us."

"Tsk. This is unfair. Husband, me too."

It was hilarious from my point of view. They were in a hurry earlier. But when they wanted affection, the girls paused the operation. They didn't care about the consequences. Roach and Warren's group didn't tarry and sneakily deployed in the slight gap.

The girls also needed a break; so, I didn't mind flirting with them. Jo, on the other hand, was already brainwashing the next group of princes. Meanwhile, Bella was once again 'away' from her body. Neither requested my attention as they had already flirted with me earlier.

'From this point on, let's call that Bella's "online" mode,' I noted inwardly.

Curious about how the rest of the operation was going, I looked up. The browsers around Bella showed the progress of the first two groups of Enthralled.

They were tearing down what looked like a factory of some sort. It looked like something out of a monster movie. Unlike Amari, who was a tyrant shifter, his brothers were all hybrids. And as the places they were attacking had only humans, they were unmatched.

There was no rhyme or reason to them. Some were understandable, like elephants made of ice and rock. Some were weird. A lion had a snake-like neck. A piranha that ran on four legs as fast as a cheetah. And a swarm of sharks that were the size of bees.

'Shifters really are extremely diverse.'

As I watched them fight, I marveled at how the Africans changed the characteristics of their soulforms. It was like mixing and matching building blocks like Lego. Only it was superpowers, and your body was the guinea pig.

But in reality, I was more interested in the Seraphs. And funnily enough, there was one other who felt like me. My chocolate-skinned lover sneakily took my hand and intertwined our fingers into a lovers' hold. She then talked to me using our links.

'You are excited to see how they work, Husband?'

'Yes, it's our baby after all,' I replied.

Jas's lips curled upwards in a wide smile, 'Haha, it really is, isn't it? How exciting.'

Both of us looked at the first Enthralled unit comprised of princes. Mike's Wyverns and Joshua's Snipers supported them. The Wyvern riders, like Mike, were dual-wielding RPGs. They were blasting watchtowers and fortifications. It was standard air support.

Meanwhile, Joshua's group was where it was at. They were floating in midair using drone backpacks. Six people hovered over 100 feet in the air while carrying M107 .50 cal. anti-material rifles. They kept shooting round after round without stopping.

Each time a prince got injured, they would heal him. If there was a strong enemy, they would stun it with Yellow rounds. Under their protection, no harm came to the princes.

And what's even more amazing is that no one even knew they were there. The Seraphs protected their charges perfectly. They were floating in the sky, striking from afar, barely making a sound, and were invisible to the naked eye. Only we knew they were there.

'The new soultech seems to be doing well. Using Exa to share [Guardian Angel] with them was a genius move, Wifey.'

'Yes, I am pleased with them as well. But between this and the gates you just made, you're even more of a genius, Husband. The way you think is so unorthodox it borders on brilliance. Soultech is the future of Hellsgate!' Jas excitedly declared.

The gear Joshua and Warren's snipers were all using was actually my idea. Jas wanted to give her snipers the ability to fly. This was because even if they knew of a threat, it was meaningless if they couldn't react in time.

But {Call My Name} did not have {Float}, only {Ascend}, so it was impossible for Seraph's marksmen to fight like her. Riding the dragons was not an option. Mike and his guys usually fought enemy fliers in aerial dogfights. It was impossible to combine the two groups.

"The Seraphs' marksmen need to be mobile. But moving with the Wyverns limits their sniping. They must be able to fly on their own. Sigh. Sadly, nothing in the Graveyard solves the issue. It must leave their arms free to use a rifle," Jas complained.

Her search for soulgears or {Fates} in the Graveyard marketplace had poor results. The requirements were straightforward: flight. But it must not hinder one's hands from wielding a .50 cal sniper rifle. Seeing her frustration, I made a simple suggestion.

"Why not just use technology made by humans, Wifey? Rather than trying to give them soulgear or {fates}. Use gliders, hoverboards, and jet packs. If we add {fates} to human inventions, we should be able to weaponize them."

"Husband, you are brilliant!"

And so, Jas shifted her search to contraptions made by humans. Immediately, she found a viable product. The one she fell in love with was a backpack that had twin rotor blades like those on a drone. They were made by a company called CopterPack.

They were, in essence, backpacks that allowed a person to move like a helicopter. The two large propellers were attached to the backpack. Combined, they could lift a single human. But there were multiple issues, all of which seemed impossible for humans to solve.

First, weird-looking joysticks controlled the backpacks. So, those flying couldn't use guns, much less high-caliber ones. Second, their initial designs had less than 30 minutes of flight time. Any increases would make the backpack too heavy.

Finally, were they loud. Even from afar you could hear them. And when in the air they stuck out like a sore thumb. While they could maneuver, it wasn't to the point that they could fight Reapers who could fly like Nomvula.

In excitement, Jas bought the company and infused {Fates} into the prototypes. What humans could not get to work properly for months, Jas made viable for combat in an afternoon.

The two of us brainstormed how to make it work as we made love like animals. The prototype we came up with was the one being used by Joshua's group. Technology that used soul. We named it soultech. It was similar to soularms but different.

By combining {Fates} with some hardware, we could surpass human tech. Supposedly, it was a novel concept.
