Limitless The Strongest Revenant -
Chapter 1034 - 1034: Heroine Chapter: Trash [1/2]
Chapter POV: Aki Miroku-Smith
__
"Ara ara, do not tell me you wish to strip me right here and make love? Am I really in love with such a beast!" I teased with a mischievous grin; I made an exaggerated show of surprise.
"Aki, please stop. I am already at my limit."
"Fufu, please forgive me, Anata. I will make it up to you when we go home."
I reached for Shujin's neck; I then planted a soft kiss on his Adam's apple. He shivered as my moist lips left his skin. His intense stare would practically bore holes in me. Yet he forced himself still and audibly gulped. He was so adorable.
My lips curled into a smile. This man was so overbearing to the rest of the world. But he hung on my every word. He brought us here to terrorize an entire continent, but he does so only for the future of our children. Because he wanted them, us to live in peace.
Limitless was both light and dark. He was either love or ruthlessness depending on what he saw you as. He was terrifying as an enemy but reliable as an ally. Fortunately, I belonged to those who commanded his affection.
I placed my fingertip on his lips. His eyes, which showed so much desire and longing, intoxicated me. His hand gripped mine in a lover's hold. He wouldn't let go. As if he would die the moment we parted.
"I am the Siren of Gluttony, Anata. What I must do does not affect me. Do not worry and let me go. I am your Kindred. This is my role and my duty."
At my words, he nodded obediently and released my hand. I turned around and walked away. As my {Kindred} has yet to learn how to control his link, his emotions were obvious. They flowed into mine. His worry, his love, his adoration, and his fear.
"Alright! You already flirted enough with my man! Get going already, you sanctimonious twats!" Lilly complained in irritation.
Knowing that it was time, I gave my {Kindred} one last goodbye kiss.
"Then Anata, I will take my leave," I said as I parted from the man whom I adored.
"Yeah, take care, Kamisan."
It was obvious he had much more to say, but I didn't tarry. Even I had my own weaknesses. If I got too drunk on his love, I would turn up useless. The temptation to give in and just cling to him was all too enticing. But I had to endure.
Limitless was rushing forward with unimaginable speed. Lilly and Jo had already ascended to Specters. Robyn and Bella seemed to already be at the last steps. Liv and Jas similarly were all trying to do so as well. Giving in now was the biggest mistake I could make.
For the future Shujin sought. I needed power. I needed strength. We will ravage Africa. Then, we will move to Australia and Asia. Finally, we will assault Antarctica.
While I knew Shujin would never throw me away, my own pride would never let me settle. Not when my sisters were all desperately running after him.
Shujin was extremely overprotective. And I loved that side of him very much. Although it was insulting at times, it was better than the alternative. Having a man only consider you as his sex slave or trophy to flaunt to others was the worst.
'… I wonder what will happen after the curse is lifted.'
This was a fear that the girls and I all shared. The actions of our Kindred were extremely illogical. We thought it was a personality quirk, but from Zanele's words, it was revealed to be a curse instead.
And the notion of Shujin suddenly losing interest in me filled me with dread. It terrified me. I found myself unable to breathe when I imagined that he would no longer look at me with such warm eyes. All of a sudden, I felt my heart hammering against my chest.
[Lady Aki, please calm down. Your emotions are beginning to spiral.]
"…"
I took a moment to calm down. I did so by remembering how much Shujin loved me. I forced my anxiety down. I remembered his sweet whispers, loving caresses, and the warmth of his embrace. The loud thumping began to slow until it subsided.
Feeling that the worst of my panic attack was over, I breathed a sigh of relief. At that moment, Bella, who entered her "sage" mode, sent the Sirens a mental transmission.
[SlothfulSage: Alright you sluts, stop flirting with honey! We are on a clock; we need at least fifteen royals for the three-pronged assault we have planned. The response of the African reapers is faster than expected; we cannot let them organize.]
Bella's words were true. Our attacks worked because we targeted things that didn't matter to the Reaper community. But once we began attacking royalty, we had an extremely small window to mislead them.
The number of Reapers Africa had was second only to Asia. If they even decided to send just a fraction of the powerhouses in Hellsgate, we would get annihilated. Africa's real power was not the armies that the princes wielded on Earth. It was the ones that protected her from the Reborn.
[Alert: Phase two of operation Shattered Silence will now begin.]
[SlothfulSage: Remember, the key here is speed; we must make it look like the princes are rebelling. The first five targets are all friendly. They need to move with at least four or five of their trusted subordinates. Ensure you get at least four!]
[LustfulMystic: Understood.]
[EnviousMaiden: Eh? I can bring them all if you want. Would that be better?]
[WrathfulHuntress: Shut it, nutjob. Just stick to the program; you already know why.]
[PridefulMother: Please stop fighting, you two. Channel your emotions into combat.]
Jo's {Thrall} was an overbearing ability. It allowed my sister to control a target forever. But it had a hidden nuance. Each person she enthralled ate at her soul reserves. Basically, if she commanded too many people, it would weaken her greatly.
As such, the girls and I all decided to use it sparingly. We would only allow her to use it on humans and high-profile Reapers. For this purpose, we would trim each prince's escort to just four or five people. And they all have to die before Phase Three.
This way, we could conserve Jo's energy and stamina while delivering the narrative we wanted. The entire plan hinged on this. We created it from Amari and Olamide's input. If we failed, we would need to fight over 40 Specters.
"The Specters are forbidden from taking sides. That was the rule my father had set. They may use all their power to defend the continent. But if my brothers incite a civil war, they must not interfere."
His Majesty was smart. He knew that once the Specters of Africa came into play, the continent would fall apart. This was why we switched our plan from killing the princes to brainwashing them. So long as the war was between princes, we were in the clear.
[GluttonousLover: Focus, everyone. I know you all had fun with Shujin, but it's time to work. If we make a mistake, Shujin will worry.]
My comments forced the rest of the Sirens to turn silent. This was the one thing we did not want. Shujin must remain in this place till the final assault. Ethan Reeds was already moving around the continent. And the two absolutely could not meet.
With this in mind, I slipped on the Dogon masks Zanele's party gave. These masks were used in funerals by the Mali tribes in Africa. They were meant to placate the dead and guide them into a peaceful afterlife. The symbolism was quite ironic.
Unable to stop myself, I walked back to Shujin. With my mask on, I gave him a kiss. Funnily enough, all of us on abduction duty had the same idea. It was something Zanele mentioned in passing.
"The ones wearing these masks would often express affection to the person they love the most with a kiss. It would serve as a protective charm for that person. So that they would be barred from entering the afterlife for as long as possible."
'I forbid you to die, Anata. At least not before I do,' I commanded him inwardly.
