Chapter 85: The 6th template card

Chapter 85: The 6th template card

Forsyx came back to his senses and found himself standing in front of the lab.

He looked at the old, dull lab, where the shine had already faded, but the structure was almost similar to the past.

But now that he had just looked at the older version of the lab, the back side stood out to him.

Especially because, in the end, both red pillars of light had actually fallen at the back of the lab.

Now he realized that the lab was actually a room or two bigger from the back, making it more cuboidal.

As he remembered the last scene, he couldn’t help but gulp. It was only for a moment, but when the entire sky turned red and that red light fell, he noticed that even the black land started to shift.

He saw something emerging out of the black land before everything went dark.

It was likely related to the power clash between two ancient powers.

So the clash of power didn’t just happen outside. A hidden war must have taken place here.

He took a deep breath to calm himself and moved inside the lab.

There, he saw multiple doors slightly opened, which had previously been closed.

He walked to the first room.

The empty nameplate now showed: ’Template Creation Room.’

As he opened the room, he saw it filled with hundreds of symbols all around the walls.

At the center of the room, there was a massive circle on the hard floor with 2–3 glass panels floating around it.

As he walked to the circle and touched one of those panels, a mechanical voice echoed through the room:

[Establishing the connection... Recognizing the master of the lab.]

With that, he saw a golden current pass through all the symbols.

[Transferring the user manual to the master.]

Forsyx felt a current pass through his head, and in the next second, he understood that he had to place one creature inside the central circle to convert it into a template.

He turned to Weyril, who was quietly observing all of this, and asked, "What do you say? Should we try this?"

Weyril looked at him and nodded with enthusiasm. "Why not? Should I bring a rabbit?"

"Rabbit?" Forsyx shook his head. "Nah. Instead, why don’t you pick out a male goblin?"

Weyril raised his eyebrow and then nodded with a smile. "Goblin, haha. Boss, this is getting interesting."

Weyril disappeared from the lab in the next second.

Forsyx just shook his head at this guy’s enthusiasm for killing. Yeah, creating a template out of a creature was basically killing them and converting them into a template card.

Not even a moment later, Weyril appeared next to him. "Here’s the goblin, boss. What now?"

Forsyx pointed to the central circle. "Place the guy there."

Not wasting a moment, Weyril pushed the goblin into the central circle.

The clueless goblin looked at them in confusion.

Forsyx focused on the panel as text appeared on it:

[A green goblin has been detected. Do you want to initiate the process? (Yes/No)]

The moment Forsyx tapped Yes, fog started to appear within the circle around the goblin.

The goblin tried to move and stepped back, but then its face blacked out as it stopped moving altogether.

The white fog thickened around the circle, and then he saw a streak of golden light pass through the fog and hit the goblin’s body.

Soon, the fog covered the entire goblin as the golden light caused chaos inside.

Forsyx noticed Weyril watching the whole scene with wide eyes, likely trying to see what was going on behind the thick fog.

Just then, a mechanical voice echoed in the chamber.

[The creation of the template card is finished.]

The golden current started to dwindle, and the fog began to disappear.

All that was left was a white card with a goblin drawn on it.

Weyril marveled. "Oh, so that’s how those cards are created."

Forsyx nodded and just snapped his fingers.

Click!

With one snap of his fingers, the Goblin template card floated into his hand.

[Creature Template: Green Goblin

Description: A common forest goblin that loves to live in groups. Good at hunting.

→ Stats Exchange:

AGI → +10%

STA → -20%

DEF → -10%

INT → +10%

...

Extra Common Stat:

Agility: 2

→ Skill: None

]

Forsyx looked at the card description. It was mostly the same as the four common cards he had gotten from the lab—the only exception being this extra common stat section.

It was just a little bonus advantage for template cards created inside the lab.

Though these two extra agility stats kind of made this a below-par template card.

Common cards could get up to six extra stats. Only two agility stats showed that the goblin used for card creation was individually far below its potential.

Well, now that he had them here, he needed to provide a challenging environment for them.

But all of that would need money, which he lacked at the moment.

He tapped the goblin card on the right panel, and there he saw a golden light passing through the card.

The card flew out of his hand and started shining in this golden light.

[A common grade Green Goblin card detected.

Do you want to create or merge it into the Super Card?

Requirement: (1/6) Green Goblin template card.

Error: Failed to meet the requirement. Process stopped.]

He saw the card stop flashing and return to his hand.

Well, he didn’t have enough goblins to check this whole process. Still, this card was better than nothing.

He opened his status and equipped the template card into his third new active slot.

As he took a step back from the glass panel, the golden current stopped moving through the symbols.

The three windows floated back to the side. Everything returned to how it was when he first entered the room, like nothing had ever happened here.

Forsyx just looked at Weyril, and both of them walked out of the facility toward the next door.

This one had a much larger frame than the first, with a massive plate above it that read: ’The Evolution Lab.’
