Chapter 57: The guild struggle
Forsyx groaned as he slapped his forehead.
He didn’t even get to enjoy a single day, and the guild was already on the verge of collapse.
The entire top management had just died.
He looked around and saw everyone in the hall just standing there, looking at the spot where the dead body had just disintegrated.
With how calm they were, it didn’t look like it was the first incident.
At that moment, he saw a group of three players walk down the stairs beside the reception table, with a red-haired woman in the center.
She just took a look at the dead spot and then turned to the receptionist. "Did anyone survive?"
The receptionist stood up and shook her head. "No, miss."
She frowned, but just then, another person rushed into the guild office.
The guy looked around the room and said aloud to the girl, "Second Vice Leader, the team leader has failed to deal with the monster wave."
The guy to her left clicked his tongue. "Shit, those bastards died for nothing."
Forsyx just looked at the situation with interest, curious how this second leader would handle the situation. But to his surprise, she just rubbed her forehead and sat back on the sofa.
He waited for her to speak, but even after almost five minutes, there was nothing but silence.
He looked at the others and saw most of them just standing there, looking down at the ground, while a couple of them were back to whispering with each other.
Pathetic. That was the only word that came to his mind.
These guys were an absolute waste of resources.
Even the guy standing behind Forsyx whispered, "Shit... It’s over for us?"
Forsyx raised his eyebrow and asked, "What do you mean?"
The guy sighed and said, "Sir, the Webcadi Forest is the last wild zone directly under us. With how things are, we’re likely going to lose it too."
Tsk. Forsyx clicked his tongue.
He knew dealing with a monster wave was no joke. With most of the guild’s powerhouses gone, it was likely the guild could do nothing against the monster wave, but that didn’t mean they should just sit down quietly.
Nah, if things go on like this, the guild might collapse before the month ends.
He shook his head and asked the guy, "Was the Spink behind this mess?"
The guy stared at him with wide eyes. "How do you know, sir?"
That was enough for him.
He walked toward Lorim.
She just sat there with her eyes closed while the guys beside her scanned him.
Before they could chime in, he snapped his fingers at her and said, "Hey, you. Get up and call out a few guys here."
She snapped her eyes open and stared at him with wide eyes.
The guy standing to her right took a step toward Forsyx and shouted, "Who the hell are you?"
Forsyx just waved his fingers through his hair. He stared at Lorim and said, "Didn’t that bitch Zack tell you guys about me?"
At his response, he heard many gasping in horror.
Even Lorim stared at him with wide eyes, though he still saw confusion on her face.
He was about to curse Zack again when the dude behind him, the one who came to give him the crystal, chimed in from behind. "Guys, this sir knows the big boss."
Many players once again gasped, but there were a few who stood there unimpressed, including Lorim and the two dudes beside her.
He realized Roonie himself must have recruited this group.
Those guys continued to stare at him, and he stared back.
He asked Lorim, "You’re the highest in command here, right?"
She just stared at him for a couple of seconds and then nodded her head. "Yes."
He nodded. "Good, then tell me, does the Spink have any guild office in the city?"
She raised her eyebrows at him and refused to answer.
He just smiled at her, then looked at one of the guys beside her and said, "Why don’t one of you log out and ask Zack about me? Don’t you think it’ll save us a lot of trouble?"
The guy looked at Lorim, and as she nodded, the next moment he disappeared from the game.
Not wasting time waiting for confirmation, Forsyx turned to the guy who had come as part of the team to deliver the crystal and asked, "What’s your name?"
The guy just glanced at Lorim for a second but didn’t hesitate. "Sir, I am Porkis."
Forsyx smiled and asked, "So, Porkis, care to tell me—does the Spink guild have any guild office in the city?"
Porkis shook his head. "No, sir. They don’t have a permanent office. But they do have a temporary one under their name. They are about to leave the city, but the office should still be under their name."
"Good. What about the office size? Was it the same as ours?"
Porkis scratched his head. "Sir, I only saw it from outside. It should be around the same as ours in the area, but they did have a three-floor guild office, while ours is only two floors."
Forsyx nodded as he inspected the hall.
He started doing some mental calculations and then said, "Porkis, call out at least 24 to 25 guild players here."
Porkis and all the others who heard him tilted their heads in confusion.
Porkis asked, "Sir, what should be the level of the players? I don’t think the guild has many high-level 40s players present at the moment."
Forsyx paused for a moment and said, "It doesn’t matter. Just pick from the 20s and 30s. Yeah, one more thing—also call out the players responsible for dealing with the main gate."
Porkis didn’t question much and rushed out.
Forsyx even saw him calling out a couple of guys for help.
Not long after Porkis left, the guy beside Lorim logged back in.
The moment he entered, he bowed to Forsyx in front of everyone. "I am very sorry for my earlier rude behavior, sir. Please forgive me. I failed to recognize that you are related to the big boss."
The moment those words dropped, everyone in the guild stared wide-eyed at him.
Even Lorim stood up on her feet.
Forsyx looked around and sighed.
The vibe inside this guild was much different from a normal guild.
Well, that’s a given. After all, this was a guild under one of the Cobra family’s mafia heirs.
