Chapter 57: Chapter 57: Hosting a Wedding

"What my Beastification is has nothing to do with you." Huaiqing adjusted his glasses, his blue eyes cold and distant as he smiled faintly, "I can sign the papers, but I need to see Xiao Jinsheng first."

"You think you can just throw a divorce agreement in front of me and expect me to sign? How do I know you didn’t force her into this?" Mo Jiao spoke coldly, tossing the divorce agreement onto the floor.

"If you want a divorce, let Xiao Jinsheng tell me herself." Yu Yunxiao glared at Li and sneered, "Sending a lackey over—what kind of ability is that?"

Faced with Yu Yunxiao’s insult, Li smirked coldly, "Incompetent people always use anger to mask their own cowardice."

"Considering you’re her ex-husband, I’ll let this slide for now." Li’s gaze turned dangerous.

If it weren’t for the fact that they weren’t divorced yet, and the death of Beast Husbands would affect the spiritual power of their mates, he would not have gone so easy on these five men.

"If you want to confront her directly, I won’t stop you." Li said, throwing a Positioning Stone to the ground, "The location is here. Whether you make it there alive depends on your abilities."

Li’s gaze scanned the divorce agreement Mo Jiao had thrown onto the ground and said, "If you want to retain your dignity, pick it up quickly."

"If you think tearing up the agreement can void the divorce, you are gravely mistaken."

"Xiao Jinsheng can always create another agreement or even sign for you herself at any time."

With that, Li stepped into a black light circle and disappeared right in front of the five men.

The five were left fuming.

Especially Yu Yunxiao, whose feline ears were puffed out in rage.

Mo Jiao’s expression darkened as he raised his foot to stomp on the divorce agreement.

Just as his foot was about to land, he quickly bent down, picked up the divorce agreement, snatched the Positioning Stone from Que Zelian’s hand, and stormed off to the destination.

"Mo Jiao, the location is in the western Demon Territory," Que Zelian reminded, "With our strength, it’s going to be tough to get through."

"So what." Mo Jiao replied coldly, his mocking gaze falling on Su Ye and Que Zelian, "It’s not you who’s being divorced, so of course you don’t care."

With that, Mo Jiao ignored Que Zelian’s warnings and strode toward the direction pointed out by the Positioning Stone.

Yu Yunxiao also stormed off angrily, following toward the destination, while Huaiqing silently trailed behind them.

Que Zelian and Su Ye exchanged a glance and reluctantly decided to join them.

Xiao Jinsheng awoke from a nap to find the palace abuzz with liveliness outside.

The sound of excited chatter carried through.

Her eyes scanned the bedroom but saw no trace of Li.

Xiao Jinsheng listened to the commotion outside, curiosity driving her to open the door, where she found the palace completely transformed from yesterday’s dark and somber style to a vivid, bright spectacle.

Every corner of the palace was decorated with dazzling jewels and Star Stones, creating an atmosphere of joyful celebration.

Her gaze landed on black-robed, knee-high little figures scurrying around the palace, adorned with an array of trinkets and ornaments.

One such black-robed figure, holding a Luminous Pearl the size of a basin, rushed toward Xiao Jinsheng.

Upon seeing her standing in the center of the path, its voice shot up several pitches in alarm, "B-b-bad news—"

"Madam has woken up—"

The other black-robed little beings that had been bustling about the palace froze in their activities, turning to look at Xiao Jinsheng.

From head to toe, they were wrapped tightly, their faces even adorned with identical emoji-like masks; at a glance, their heights, builds, and appearances seemed copy-pasted.

Xiao Jinsheng’s puzzled gaze wandered among this peculiar group of black-robed little figures.

Their masked faces, glowing red and round eyes blinking in unison, stared right back at her.

As Xiao Jinsheng raised her hand to greet them, the black-robed figures trembled and let their ornaments clatter to the ground before scurrying to the walls, disappearing through them.

"Am I that scary?" Xiao Jinsheng touched her face in confusion.

"They’re afraid of frightening you," Li’s voice came from behind.

Xiao Jinsheng turned around and her eyes widened in amazement.

Li had shed his usual black-and-red attire for a refined and elegant white suit.

A black shirt underneath, complemented by a black-silver tie adorned with diamonds, and a collar pinned with a simple gemstone-decorated dark red rose.

The previously hideous Demon Mask had been replaced with a silver intricate mask inlaid with garnet lines.

As her gaze met his gentle, ruby-like eyes, Xiao Jinsheng saw Li’s lips curve into a smile, "Today is a good day to hold our wedding."

"A w-wedding?" Xiao Jinsheng stammered in surprise.

So that’s why he’s dressed like a peacocking show-off today!

Sure, he looked stunning, but getting registered was one thing—a wedding was an entirely different matter.

The former could quietly be done in secret.

The latter required inviting guests.

Suddenly, Xiao Jinsheng’s introverted nature exploded.

She hesitated, "Will there be many people? Yesterday, I overheard the old man saying there are thirty thousand residents on the west side of the palace."

"Apart from you and me, no one else." Li laughed.

Relieved that only she and Li would attend, Xiao Jinsheng relaxed, only for Li to continue, "Apart from you and me, everyone in this palace is a demon."

"Demons, huh. Demons are great—as long as they’re not human." Xiao Jinsheng nodded enthusiastically.

She kept nodding, only to realize something was off.

Startled, she clarified, "Demons!?"

"Are you saying the old man from last night, and those black-robed little figures who fled when they saw me, are all demons?" Xiao Jinsheng asked in astonishment.

"Those are Little Demons, inherently mischievous but not lacking courage," Li explained with a chuckle, "They’re merely afraid of startling you."

Recalling the recent events, Xiao Jinsheng became convinced she had scared those Little Demons instead.

"Are the guests only them?" Xiao Jinsheng inquired.

Li appeared to recall something, suppressing the amusement in his eyes, and nodded with a faint smile, "If everything goes smoothly, the guests will only be them."

With that, Li guided Xiao Jinsheng back to the bedroom, where another Little Demon emerged from the wall and placed a box beside the dressing mirror.

Their round red eyes cautiously glanced at Xiao Jinsheng, and the moment she turned to look back at them, they covered their eyes and darted back into the wall.

Xiao Jinsheng was convinced: these Little Demons were scared of her.

"Isn’t this essentially child labor?" Xiao Jinsheng teased.

Li chuckled softly, "The youngest of them is over a hundred years old."

Xiao Jinsheng: ... My bad.

Thinking they were child workers, but instead, they’re century-old beings.

"Open it and see. If you don’t like it, we can modify it," Li suggested.

Xiao Jinsheng gazed at the exquisitely packaged oversized gift box, pulled open the ribbon, and was delighted to see a fantastical, lavishly designed wedding dress inside.

She reached out to touch the dazzling diamond crown, her whole body radiating with happiness.

Turning around, Xiao Jinsheng leaped into Li’s embrace, wrapping her arms around his neck and tiptoeing to plant a kiss on his cheek, "I like it very much."

The feeling of being cared for and cherished—it satisfied her deeply.

"Let me help you put it on." Li’s lips curved into a smile as he reached to undo her nightgown straps.

"You leave—I’ll do it myself." Xiao Jinsheng’s cheeks flushed red as she raised her hands to stop his movements.

Li pinched her increasingly warm cheeks and chuckled lightly. He didn’t insist and simply said, "Call me anytime if you need help."

While Li waited for Xiao Jinsheng to change into the wedding dress, the old man emerged from the wall, his expression grave, "Lord, there are intruders in the territory."

"No need to stop them." Li sounded unsurprised, his chuckling tone laced with malice, "If necessary, feel free to guide them."
