Lethal Stunner: Kicking Off with Five Beast Husbands -
Chapter 26 Car Accident
Chapter 26: Chapter 26 Car Accident
Mo Jiao was washing the bloodstains off his clothes, while Xiao Jinsheng was there to clean the first Star Stone she obtained after killing a Fog Corpse.
Seeing Xiao Jinsheng approach, Mo Jiao had just finished rinsing. He shut off the faucet and quickly retreated to his room.
"Brother Takedown, why are you avoiding me~" Xiao Jinsheng called out to his back.
Hearing her words, Mo Jiao sped up his pace.
Watching Mo Jiao leave in irritation, Xiao Jinsheng grinned contentedly and prepared to rinse her precious Star Stone.
But no matter how much she twisted the faucet, it wouldn’t budge.
The faucet was an old style, with a tiny metal handle about the size of a pinky finger.
Xiao Jinsheng dropped the Star Stone, went in with both hands, but the faucet still didn’t move an inch.
She’d used this faucet yesterday—there was no way it had been shut this tightly.
Considering Mo Jiao had left after turning off the water, Xiao Jinsheng immediately understood.
It had to be Mo Jiao deliberately tightening the faucet, purely to get back at her for tossing her Star Stone at him earlier.
Once upon a time, Xiao Jinsheng was a complete pushover, practically shattering at the slightest touch.
Now, with the absorption of Star Stones enhancing her spiritual power, she’d improved. But due to limited resources and time, she wasn’t strong enough yet.
You could only say she had evolved from super fragile to moderately fragile.
Failing to twist it open, Xiao Jinsheng worried her strength might backfire and snap the pipe entirely.
She had no choice but to go inside to find someone else. By chance, she saw Su Ye in the corridor.
"Brother Good, come here! I’ve got something interesting for you to see," Xiao Jinsheng waved him over.
Su Ye raised his eyebrow slightly, took a stride forward, and in a few steps, was standing before her.
He crossed his arms, leaned casually against the wall, and said, "What interesting thing? Let’s see it!"
"Open the faucet first, and I’ll show you." Xiao Jinsheng instructed.
Hearing this, Su Ye didn’t hesitate, reaching out to turn the faucet.
But while his hand was on it, despite twisting twice, the faucet didn’t budge.
Xiao Jinsheng’s expression shifted to one of doubt as she stared at him, full of skepticism: "Brother Good, it’s just a faucet. Can you handle it or not?"
Su Ye froze in place, then tapped on the window and called into the room, "Mo Jiao, stop using your superpower!"
"I knew it!" Xiao Jinsheng exclaimed, realizing why she hadn’t been able to turn the faucet. Despite her improved physical condition, it shouldn’t be that fragile.
She had assumed Mo Jiao simply tightened the faucet.
Who would have thought he went even further, using his superpower to actively control the faucet?
Grabbing a stick to hold onto her bloodstained Star Stone, Xiao Jinsheng promptly headed into the room to find Mo Jiao.
Just as she turned around, the sound of running water echoed from behind her.
"Mo Jiao’s 6-star superpower versus your 3-star spiritual power—it’s understandable you didn’t notice he was using his ability to control the faucet," Su Ye remarked, noticing Xiao Jinsheng’s puffed-up, furious face. He awkwardly tried to comfort her.
Scaring people? He was experienced.
But comforting them? That was a first.
Xiao Jinsheng set aside her plan to confront Mo Jiao for now and quickly rinsed the blood off her Star Stone.
Once the Star Stone was clean, she held it up proudly in front of Su Ye. "Look! My very first Star Stone!"
Su Ye was momentarily stunned, staring at her beaming smile. Without saying anything, he broke out in a laugh. "So this is the ’interesting thing’ you wanted to show me?"
"Isn’t a Star Stone interesting?" Xiao Jinsheng replied.
"Of course it is," Su Ye nodded.

All Task Takers entering Mist West were assigned missions.
Most Task Takers would perform their tasks while searching for Star Stones simultaneously.
When missions were completed, the terminal would reward them with equipment or Star Stones.
Xiao Jinsheng was assigned a simple 1-star mission: collecting ten pomelo saplings.
The pomelo trees were conveniently situated near the entrance to Mist West.
So Xiao Jinsheng and her team weren’t in a rush to complete their mission. After all, their wristbands had 10,000 durability points each—it made sense to look for more Star Stones while they had the chance.
Today, Xiao Jinsheng was far more capable than she’d been yesterday.
Especially since she now had weapons perfectly suited to her, and the novelty hadn’t worn off yet.
Besides enhancing her physique and upgrading her spiritual power with Star Stones, she also wanted actual combat to sharpen her skills.
So today, when luring Fog Corpses, she didn’t let Que Zelian carry her and instead ran alongside the five men.
Once they lured the Fog Corpses to the base of a tall building, Que Zelian helped her onto the second floor, where she began shooting and killing the Fog Corpses.
Fortunately, nothing unexpected happened today, though night fell much later than usual.
Working as a team, they eliminated three waves of Fog Corpses, earning over 700 Star Stones.
They hadn’t had time to sort the Star Stones by level yet, as they needed to leave Mist West.
Because in the three waves they lured, every one included two 6-star Fog Corpses.
Even 5-star Fog Corpses weren’t few and far between.
High star-level Fog Corpses consumed wristband durability at a rapid pace.
Especially Que Zelian and Mo Jiao, who fought 6-star Fog Corpses head-on—their wristband durability had dwindled to just 300 points.
The others weren’t faring well either, with Xiao Jinsheng’s wristband boasting the most points at 800.
Fog Corpses chasing Xiao Jinsheng were guaranteed to drop Star Stones.
Simultaneously, Xiao Jinsheng acted as a Fog Corpse magnet, attracting attention from a distance of ten meters.
To avoid lingering in Mist West too long and attracting more Fog Corpses, the six of them decided to head back while it was still daylight.
At the Mist West exit, they pieced together shovels and dug up the ten pomelo saplings.
Yu Yunxiao climbed a tree to pick ten pomelos, while Xiao Jinsheng snapped off a few pomelo leaves.
After loading the saplings onto their vehicle, the six of them arrived near their villa around 5:30 PM.
Fortunately, Mist East wasn’t constantly shrouded in fog like Mist West. The weather was still natural and normal as long as the mist didn’t rise.
On the drive home, they reached a fork in the road.
One road led left to Mist West.
The other road led right to another town.
At the fork, a black car sped down the right path and directly slammed into the vehicle Xiao Jinsheng was sitting in.
Su Ye was driving this time.
He quickly identified the occupants of the black car.
He lowered his voice and warned, "Brace yourselves."
Then, with a sharp turn of the steering wheel, he veered off the road and accelerated, aiming to ram the black car that had taken over their lane.
Seated in the back with Yu Yunxiao and Que Zelian, Xiao Jinsheng immediately dove into Que Zelian’s arms, burying her head against his chest.
Su Ye pursued aggressively, ramming the black car off the road and sending it skidding onto the grass, where it sank into the mud.
Su Ye rolled down the window, raised his middle finger at the black car, and drove off without a care.
He left behind Jin Ao, sitting at the wheel of the black car with a darkened expression.
In the back seat, Bai Yan rubbed her bruised forehead, which had collided with the front seat during the clash.
"Jin Ao, what were you thinking, crashing into someone like that?" Xue Ruiyang said as he helped Bai Yan, his expression unpleasant.
"Xiao Jinsheng was in that car," Jin Ao replied.
"She keeps arguing with Xiao Yan day in and day out. I just wanted to teach her a lesson, to scare her a bit."
"If that’s your idea of a lesson, it wasn’t very effective." A man with vibrant green streaks in his hair sneered. "Looks like we’re the ones who got schooled instead."
"Kong Chengrui, do you have to keep harping on this?" Jin Ao turned back to glare at him. "How was I supposed to know Su Ye was the one driving?"
Jin Ao had known Su Ye since they were kids.
If he’d recognized Su Ye earlier, Jin Ao wouldn’t have chosen to ram the car, even if he wanted to discipline Xiao Jinsheng.
