Knights and Magic Wand
Chapter 45 - 45 39 The Hostages Have Been Evacuated

45: Chapter 39: The Hostages Have Been Evacuated 45: Chapter 39: The Hostages Have Been Evacuated The brief exchange had ended before arousing the suspicion of the guards outside.

Olivia and Lokhak silently retreated to the side after lowering their face armors.

Azeryan poked his head around the corner and call out hoarsely to the entrance.

“Sir, I don’t understand Felu, but this golden-haired girl is chattering about needing you for something.” (Uria Language)

Outside, the Kantadar Knight, who had just popped the cork of a bottle and taken a few swigs, looked puzzled towards the inside of the house.

He smacked his lips, put down the barrel he was holding, stood up, picked up his halberd, and walked inside with his attendants.

The Knight yelled impatiently at the golden-haired girl in the corner, “Girl, what’s the matter now?” (Felu Language)

Seeing the guards coming in, Olivia took a deep breath, mentally prepared herself, and walked towards them.

The Knight’s hefty frame stepped back and immediately leveled his long spear.

His two attendants, too, lowered their spears, pointing them directly at the approaching girl, their bodies tense.

Observing their hostile response, Leon slightly stunned, subtly elbowed Lokhak.

The three of them also quickly pretended to be on guard and drew their long swords, aiming at Olivia.

They hadn’t revealed their identities yet; they had to play along with the Knight’s reaction.

But the scene—six fully-armed big men surrounding a single girl with tense weapons pointed at each other—was indeed comical.

“I…I’ve decided to accept your leader’s…request, but I have conditions!”

Olivia’s cheeks flushed slightly, her irritation palpable even through the deceptive words.

“When my father wakes up, you must release him,” the girl closed her eyes and gritted her teeth as she continued.

“Ha, I thought it was something serious.

You were just being stubborn, weren’t you?

The Baron wants to bed you, not your old man.”

Seeing how the girl’s attitude softened over a meal, the Spear Knight scoffed disdainfully, knowing that any woman of virtue would comply when her weakness was grasped.

“Still, I’m not authorized to decide on your conditions.

We’ll wait for the Baron to make that decision.”

The Knight lifted his spear shaft and casually pointed towards the three mercenaries, “Hmm, you…yes, you, go report to the Baron.

Tell him the little lady has agreed to share his bed.” (Uria Language)

Although she didn’t understand the language, Olivia guessed that he was telling Leon and the others to go out and deliver the message.

The girl quickly interjected through clenched teeth, “Wait for your leader to come here?

Do you really think I would do that here?”

“Ah?

Otherwise, what?

You really are troublesome, little lady.

Isn’t there a room upstairs?

Do we need to build you a bridal chamber for your wedding with the Baron?” The Spear Knight mocked impatiently.

Olivia turned her head away, lips pursed, fingers tightly clutching the hilt of her sword, desperately suppressing her indignation and humiliation, “…take me to your lord, at least, don’t make me discuss these degrading matters in the place where my father is…”

“Pretentious.”

Watching the golden-haired girl strain to contain her anger, the Spear Knight decided not to pressure her further, fearing she might draw her sword in a fit of rage and kill herself.

Killing the beauty the Baron fancied would bring trouble upon himself.

“Fine, but since you’re willing to compromise, first lower your sword.

I’m not going to let you near the Baron armed,” the Spear Knight commanded, allowing no refusal.

Olivia picked up her long sword, frowning, this wasn’t part of her anticipated plan.

But her mind quickly turned, and she feigned reluctance, seemingly casually throwing her weapon aside vigorously.

The long sword clanged onto the floor and slid towards Leon.

Taking the cue, Leon, while maintaining a guarded posture with his right hand’s blade pointed at the girl, swiftly picked up the long sword in front of him, pretending it was for safekeeping.

The oblivious Knight didn’t suspect a thing, “That’s more like it.”

Seeing the girl completely disarmed, the Spear Knight felt much more at ease, knowing she was no threat without a weapon.

But that wasn’t enough.

The Knight stepped forward, pressing the blade of his ax against the girl’s neck, then commanded the attendants and mercenaries, “Go find me a rope, tie this little lady’s hands up.” (Uria Language)

The ax against her neck alarmed Olivia.

She didn’t understand what the Knight was planning as he hadn’t spoken in Felu, and naturally, Leon and Lokhak couldn’t react.

Fortunately, among them, Azeryan understood.

He quickly scanned the surroundings, spotted a hemp rope near a stack of sacks, and dashed over before the other two Knight Attendants could react.

Olivia, seeing Azeryan disguised as an enemy picking up the rope, turned to the Knight in front and asked, “What are you going to do?”

“You really thought I’d let you approach the Baron freely?

Young lady, don’t take me for a fool.

You’re so skilled, who knows if you haven’t learned unarmed combat,” the Spear Knight teased.

Olivia, glancing covertly at Azeryan now behind her, calmed down and, feigning resigned indignation, spat out, “Coward.”

“Coward?

To send a wild beast onto our lord’s bed, I’m just being cautious,” the Spear Knight laughed shamelessly.

Azeryan silently lowered his head and quickly tied Olivia’s wrists behind her back with a rope.

Taking advantage of her body blocking their view, he secretly tied a slip knot at the end of the layered lasso from a hidden angle the Knight could not see.

Then, with a pullable end of the rope, he quietly poked the girl’s palm.

Olivia got the message; she grabbed the end of the slip knot rope and covered it with her crossed hands.

Leon, who had a clear view from the side, felt greatly relieved.

“Is that enough, or do you want to tie up my feet too?” The girl opened her eyes, looking contemptuously at the Knight, and coldly scoffed.

“Ha ha ha, that won’t be necessary.

Let’s go,” the Spear Knight laughed, lifting his blade.

He waved his hand to let the Attendants flank the girl and glanced at the three mercenaries nearby.

He casually pointed to one and commanded, “You stay behind, watch over that unconscious old fellow.” (Uria Language)

Lokhak didn’t understand the gibberish of the Kantadar people; his eyes behind the mask drifted towards Azeryan.

(Uria Language) “What are you staring at?

Haven’t had your fill of this golden-haired chick yet?

The Lord told you to stay, so you stay!” Azeryan rudely shoved Lokhak’s shoulder, pointing to the old blacksmith lying in the corner.

Although Lokhak didn’t understand what his companion was shouting at him either, he saw Azeryan’s finger slightly tilting towards the ground, giving a gentle flick.

He immediately understood the hint, nodding vigorously while uttering an agreeing “Hmm, hmm.”

That was the only Uria phrase he had learned so far.

Leaving Lokhak to watch the unconscious old blacksmith, the group surrounded the golden-haired girl and escorted her out of the house.

Leon, holding Olivia’s long sword in one hand and a waist dagger on the girl’s shoulder with the other, glanced nervously at the house behind him while feeling a trace of relief.

Although there had been slight deviations from the hastily conceived plan due to the urgency of the situation, fortunately, they had managed to fool their way through.

What surprised him more was that the Knight had not instructed his Attendant to stay behind and guard the blacksmith.

This saved them the hassle of having to find an excuse midway to go back and steal the hostage.

Now, their only target was…

Lokhak watched from the door as everyone disappeared around the corner.

He turned his head and looked around.

Good, he didn’t see any other Kantadar breed, perhaps they were either resting or still committing evil deeds.

He quietly waited a few moments, ensuring that the departing group did not turn back unexpectedly before Lokhak suddenly turned around and ran back into the house.

He briskly walked up to the unconscious old blacksmith, helped him up by his robust torso, initially planning to carry him straight out, but noticing a sack under him, Lokhak thought for a moment.

He told himself: Sorry about this.

Picking up the large sack, the youth pulled it over the entire body of the old blacksmith.

After making a few small holes for air, Lokhak, like a kidnapping bandit, hoisted the sack containing the person and swaggered out of the community house toward where the horses were hidden.

At a glance, he seemed no different from the Kantadar Soldiers who abducted women.

Except, in his sack was not a weeping girl, but an unconscious rugged old man.

Unfortunately, as he passed the corner alley, he ran head-on into several Kantadar Soldiers.

(Uria Language) “Yo, brother, what beauty are you carrying there?

Why cover her with a sack and not let anyone see?” A Hired Cavalry laughed lewdly at Lokhak.

Unable to understand the man’s words, Lokhak, suppressing his murderous intent, hid his fierce expression behind the mask, nodding with a naive “Hmm, hmm” as a response.

Fortunately, those men had no intention to linger, brushing past Lokhak in the alleyway.

Even among brutal mercenaries known for looting and pillaging, there was a professional tacit understanding and unspoken rules.

Regular followers of a boss through life and death battles and arson, they wouldn’t recklessly touch a comrade’s spoils of war.

Tensely on guard, Lokhak turned into the small courtyard where the horses were tied, immediately lifting the old blacksmith onto the horse’s back.

Untying the reins, he mounted the horse and slowly trotted out of the yard, his pace leisurely as he slipped through the village.

Even when encountering patrolling Kantadar Soldiers along the road, no one stopped Lokhak, who seemed like a “Hired Cavalry” looking for a place to unleash his violence.

Carrying the old blacksmith in the sack, Lokhak soon escaped the village.

At the moment they smoothly moved beyond the fenced houses at the village edge, Lokhak couldn’t hold back any longer.

He fiercely whipped the reins, galloping into the nearby forest.

Navigating through the dense woods on horseback, he ran far enough until he crossed a low hill to hide his figure, where he pulled the horse to a halt and quickly moved the old blacksmith’s sack down.

Undoing the sack and seeing that the old man was still breathing smoothly, Lokhak finally breathed a sigh of relief.

Olivia’s father was safe for now, but his companions were still in the Demon Cave.

Without hesitation, he propped the old blacksmith against the grass behind the hill slope, immediately mounted the horse, and headed back towards the village.

Crossing the bumpy horseback through the shady grove.

Suddenly, he heard a whooshing sound that even the horse’s hooves couldn’t drown out.

Lokhak, puzzled, lifted his head and looked afar.

When he finally made out the gigantic object sweeping across the sky, his eyes widened in shock.
