Chapter 122: FALSE ALARM

Chapter 122: FALSE ALARM

[MUSIC RECOMMENDATION: STILL WITH YOU ~ JUNGKOOK OF BTS]

Khelan widened his eyes in shock as Misam confessed to everything she did without even knowing it. Even when the head maid was not dead, she had gone further to making sure the older woman didn’t survive. Pure evil.

Nix noticed the look on Khelan’s face; he didn’t know about this story either. So it meant his mother kept her son away from her heinous crimes. Very thoughtful of Almaria.

"Are you shocked? Wait until you hear what she did before now." Nix smirked.

Misam, as if snapped out of her trance, opened her eyes. She remembered exactly what she had said because it felt like she was walking down memory lane and something was forcing her to say her inner secrets.

"What did you give to me!" She gritted her teeth.

Nix shrugged his shoulder, "A taste of your own medicine, just different function." He smirked.

He pulled out a new bag from his other pocket that was similar to the first one.

"Looks familiar, doesn’t it? This time I want you to tell me exactly what you did to the princess. And you won’t miss a thing." He crushed the seeds gently before giving it to the guard who was standby to feed it to Misam.

"No!!! Stay away from me...this is an invasion of privacy. My private thoughts should be mine and mine alone. You don’t have any right to take it away from me." Misam struggled to get away from the guard; she didn’t want anyone to ever hear of what she did to the princess.

"Look who’s talking about privacy. Does that mean Kitanna’s memory was for public display, and for you to change it anytime you wanted?" It was a rhetorical question; Nix wasn’t expecting an answer. But when Misam opened her lips to reply, the guard shoved the seeds down her throat before she could spit it out. Her mouth was held tight, which made her swallow it unintentionally.

Back where Kitanna lay receiving blood from Larel, her hand finally moved before she opened her eyes slowly. She looked around her environment, and she saw Larel sitting close to her bed with her blood moving inside her veins.

Kitanna tried to stand up, and this made Larel jerk up, "Princess, you’re awake!" She almost screamed.

Kitanna placed her fingers on her lips for her to stop talking, "Nix...where is Nix?" She asked worriedly; she was sure he was there with her in the forest, and she had expected to see him first when she opened her eyes.

Larel confirmed immediately the words Nix said earlier; the princess was really in a romantic relationship with her personal guard.

"I’ll call him; he stepped out after your health was stable." Larel got up to look for the guard, but she noticed the medical rope was still tied to her hand.

Kitanna saw it too, "Who’s there?" she called for anyone standing outside. And immediately Chantal rushed in.

"Princess!!" Without waiting to be told, he bolted out of the room to let the white Lord know that the princess he had been waiting for was now awake.

Nix listened to the words that were leaving the maid’s lips. She not only tortured Kitanna but also made the girl believe when she was young, that she was a curse who killed her mother. Nix was tempted to slit the woman’s throat and stop her from talking further about what she did to Kitanna, but she was still needed to tell them about who helped them escape and the location of Almaria and Deonisia.

Khelan, who was also listening, shook his head in disbelief, "Why am I in the same cell room with this witch?" he asked.

Nix tilted his head to this side, "You were on her side a few minutes ago. Are you switching sides that easily? Well, you’re here because your mother won’t escape without informing her beloved son."

"I didn’t know about the escape, and my mother would never join hands with this witch!" Khelan pointed at Misam in disgust.

Nix closed his eyes for a second. When his blue eyes looked at Khelan, he shook his head in disappointment, "I was beginning to be proud of you. I thought you were thinking better, or did your mother wash your brain?"

Khelan wasn’t allowed to reply because a brown-haired guard ran inside the prison shouting.

"Princess...princess!!!" Chantal screamed on top of his voice. Before he got to where Nix was, he was already breathless and couldn’t talk properly.

Nix, feeling the sense of urgency, rushed out of the prison. His mind went to a lot of places. Did something happen to Kitanna? But the physician said she was now stable.

Misam, who was now stable and had snapped out of her trance, couldn’t help but smile. She also thought that with the way the guard was shouting, something bad had happened to Kitanna.

Chantal rushed to catch up with Nix; The white Lord didn’t wait to listen to what he had to say.

Larel was standing close to Kitanna’s bed; now that the medical rope was removed from her hand. And Kitanna was now lying down; she used the bed cover to wrap the princess properly.

The moment Nix entered, he noticed Larel covering Kitanna, and it sent a wrong signal to his mind. "Get away from her!"

Larel jolted at the harsh words that scared the heaven out of her. She turned to meet the raging blue eyes again. What did she do this time? The woman asked herself internally.

"I- I was just covering her..." Larel stuttered, unsure of what she did wrong and where.

Kitanna opened her eyes when she heard Nix’s voice; she raised her face, "Nix?"

Nix stepped back when he heard Kitanna’s voice; it was then it dawned on him that he didn’t wait to hear Chantal. But the boy was just too slow in delivering information.

Kitanna noticed Nix throw his face to the side like he was ashamed of something; she smiled a little. Larel got the cue and left the room; they both had a lot to say to each other.

Nix walked to Kitanna’s bed after Larel left, "Are you ok? Does it hurt anywhere? Do you want to eat anything? Your stomach... How does it feel...is the pain unbearable?"

Kitanna was surprised to see Nix ask plenty of questions at the same time; it was as if their characters were now reversed. She didn’t expect Nix to say a lot of words for someone who kept to himself. It warmed her heart to know that he cared a lot about her.

"I’m hurt..." Kitanna said, trying to hide her smile.

"Where? Should I call the physician?" Nix checked her face then her hands, maybe he missed something and didn’t get it treated. And worry marred his forehead.

"I’m hurt because you weren’t the first person I saw when I woke up." Kitanna finally let the smile spread on her lips. She raised her hands and pulled Nix’s face closer to hers and she gently kissed him. It was a kiss filled with longing and assurance.

When they broke away from the kiss, Nix sat close to her bed, holding Kitanna’s hand in his large ones. He continued to look at her like if he dared to look away the girl would vanish.

Kitanna noticed how disheveled Nix’s silver hair was looking, like he had been raking his fingers through it.

"For someone who is always very composed, you looked flustered when you stepped inside. Care to share the reason?"

Nix looked away and gritted his teeth, "Chantal, I’m going to kill that one..." he said through his teeth.
