Chapter 107: THE MOUSE
Chapter 107: THE MOUSE
[MUSIC RECOMMENDATION: TOCCATA FROM SYMPHONY No. 5 ~ WIDOR]
The figure walked in the dark of the night, constantly looking over their shoulder to see if anyone was coming behind or, worst case, watching. It’s been two days since the queen dowager and her cousin have been locked up. It was only right to do something for them to escape.
In front of the royal prison, the guard saw someone approaching; it was a woman. According to their leader, nobody was allowed to visit any of the prisoners.
"Hey, woman!. Go back; there’s no visitation allowed," the guard spoke loudly enough for the woman to hear. Instead of retreating, she kept advancing forward.
"Do you not hear me? Take one more step, and I will have you locked up," the guard warned in a harsh tone.
The woman stopped, as if scared of the words the guard had uttered, but that wasn’t the case. She squinted her eyes to know how many guards were at the entrance. Two. It was just two; that was enough for her.
The woman raised her hands peacefully. "I was assigned to bring you drink and food to encourage you for your duties. I mean no harm," she released her feminine charm, her voice sounding sweeter than the nectars of ambrosia.
The guard turned to the other comrade beside him, "I thought Guard Chantal brought us food not quite long."
"That he did. I wonder who it was again who sent her?" the second guard replied, now looking at the woman suspiciously.
"What do you suggest we do?" The first guard asked, already swayed at the mention of food.
The second guard glared at him, "That shouldn’t be up for debate. Send her back, of course. Remember that Lord Nix asked us to be vigilant as ever today."
The woman smiled when she noticed the two guards were now arguing. She took it as a hint to advance closer, and as she walked, she removed the piece of her dress which covered her shoulder, revealing the upper side of her chest.
"Maybe they brought more food, knowing that being a guard is hard," the first guard, who couldn’t wait to eat a second round, enticed.
"It can’t be. We don’t eat heavily when we’re on duty; it makes us weak and dull when we are supposed to be vigilant," the second guard advised, but they were interrupted with the presence of the woman.
The woman was no ordinary beauty. Her skin shone brighter than the candle; it was as if her whole body was immersed in plain milk, making her look pale and succulent. Her eyes were beautifully lined with kohl, which enhanced her white eyes, and her lips fully balmed with a red substance that made them look appealing. The woman’s shoulder, left bare, made the eyes look straight at her chest because of how endowed she was there.
The guards forgot about their argument, and their full concentration was on the woman beside them.
The first guard turned to his comrade, giving him a knowing look. Then he whispered, "Maybe this was another type of food after all. It’s been long since we let off some good steam."
"I have even forgotten what it feels like to get in between a woman’s legs," the second guard, whose resolve was now broken, licked his lips. Lewd thoughts now flooding his mind.
The woman grinned when she noticed the new aura that was now flowing between the guards. These were men who had instructed her to turn back, but now seeing her, they were suddenly looking perplexed. She said under her breath, with the grin still on her face, "Men," she rolled her eyes inwardly.
The guards moved from their position and allowed the woman to sit. She opened her lips and suggested, "Why don’t we take some wine and get into the mood? I’m a little shy; it’s my first time with two men." She said in a sweet alluring tone.
The guards gave each other a look, their perverted minds working faster than their brains. "Hehe... Don’t worry; we won’t be too rough. You won’t even know it was two men that took you," the first guard assured, like it was tangible advice he was giving.
Without wasting time, he grabbed the wineskin and took a large gulp, then he handed it over to the other guard, who drank to his fill.
The first guard started advancing towards the woman, removing his trousers, but before he could get to her, he slumped on the ground, and the same thing happened to the other guard.
The woman sat still in her position, looking at the man whose hands were on her leg. She pushed it away roughly, her face lined with irritation. Her blood boiling at the thought of the two men touching her.
"A cliche move, but works every time," she bent down and picked the keys that were latched on the guard’s waist.
Entering the prison, she stepped into the heart of the prison room where the worst criminals were kept. She had been here before, but she didn’t expect her masters to get a taste of it anytime soon. It was all because of that audacious princess. The young woman bit her inner cheeks, drawing blood.
Now standing in front of the prison where Deonisia and Almaria were chained, she fumbled with the keys, but the right ones were not there. She cursed under her breath.
"Do you think they will leave the keys with mere guards?" Deonisia, who had been closing her eyes, opened them to look at the woman.
The young woman bowed deeply, "My lady, I’m sorry I came too late. I have already arranged for a carriage to take you out of the palace tonight until we get our footing again," she said.
Almaria, whose eyes had been blank, shone immediately when she heard the word escape. She now looked closer at the face of the person talking, "It’s been a long time since I saw you in that face. Reminds me of old times. Where is the carriage? I need these chains off my skin as soon as possible."
Deonisia looked at the woman; it was indeed true that her looks were now different compared to what everyone knew her as. "How come you are here? Did you not get questioned by the guards? I’m sure that blood of Zeno had this place heavily guarded." Her lips twitched when she remembered how she missed that a white Lord was living in the palace all this while. Like it was so obvious, her blood boiled in hate.
"It was just two guards; I used my old charm. The princess’s chamber is being heavily guarded at this hour. I made her have another episode of her trance; this time she’s seeing her father. So everyone is in her room. Let’s leave here now before she recovers, and that will only be by noon tomorrow," the woman responded.
Almaria cackled when she heard of Kitanna’s plight. It was not enough for the humiliation she was passing through, but it was satisfying to hear that she was suffering. She looked at the young woman, "I love this skill of yours in getting people to do what you want. I hope you have never added those little mixtures to my food," the former queen dowager, who wouldn’t accept that she’s no longer one, asked in a sly tone.
The young woman shook her head, smiling. And Almaria continued talking,
"Add some to Mubera’s water and food; that evil witch of a pries- " Almaria’s words hung in her throat when Deonisia hit the prison door harshly.
The other two women turned to look at the oldest one among them, "This was too easy, we should know Kitanna by now. She’s not someone to succumb easily. Go back and verify she’s really having an episode, before we escape." Deonisia who was having a bad feeling about everything said.
"How did you get the carriage?" Deonisia sked again to be sure.
"Larel came to me, she helped me arrange one, she said she had helped someone escape from the palace before." The young woman informed others.
Almaria scoffed, "Larel..., I’m glad you asked me to get her on our side Big sister. She’s truly a rat who will fight back when cornered. She’s more like a cat now, who knew that she also enjoyed sitting in power."
Deonisia shook her head, it sounded too easy and good to be true. "Go back first, infact leave this place, your cover must not be blown. We need you inside the palace walls, without you the other girls will not be loyal to us. Leave Go now!" She commanded.
"Big sister, you are being too dramatic. I think you’re rating that little princess more than she is, let just -" Almaria shut her mouth when Deonisia passed her a stern look.
"Go now!" Deonisia commanded, and the young woman ran out of the prison, rushing towards the entrance.
Now standing outside she looked around, but the guards were not in the position she had left them. The substance she added to their drink was not supposed to wear off yet, she had induced it with a more potent herb that will knock them out until morning. Her senses now heightened.
Alarmed, the young woman suspected that something was wrong somewhere. She dropped the key harshly on the floor and tried to run out of the prison.
She heard warning bells sound in her ear when she saw guards surround her immediately, all bearing a lighted torch.
The woman turned her back to run back to the prison when she saw the two guards who were supposed to be knocked out by her potion. They were standing tall and grinning at her now, they never swallowed the drink.
It was then she added two and two together, this was just a trap, Lady Deonisia was right. The woman turned to her front looking for an opening to escape, she couldn’t be caught just yet. Her masters still needed her.
"Look what we have here....The mouse or should I say Misam?." Kitanna grinned stepping out of the darkness.
