Chapter 783: Chapter 353: Hell’s Gate_3

Maya looked at Lin Wu, who handed over Forest Wolf to her, nodding to indicate it was okay.

Maya said, "Shana," and tossed her a shock bomb.

Shana caught the shock bomb but did not use it immediately; instead, she first threw a smoke grenade to the left. Once the smoke spread, she then threw the shock bomb. After leaving Wai with Maya, Lin Wu and Shana set off at once.

Lin Wu reached the sauna entrance alone, where an injured mercenary on the ground raised his pistol. Lin Wu took him down first, casually picking up the card, gaining the G36S and 30 rounds of 5.56 ammunition originally in possession of the mercenary.

Inside the sauna area was a corridor. Lin Wu leaned against the right wall and peeked to the left, then pressed against the left side to look to the right, before entering Stealth Mode and slipping out. A mercenary on the left spotted Lin Wu first, but Lin Wu’s stealth level and agility were too high, and in a flash, the mercenary couldn’t tell whether the person he saw was a friend or a target, or even if it was a human since he only glimpsed a blurry outline of a gray shadow. And so, the mercenary was finished.

Lin Wu took the weapons and bullets and continued forward, reaching the corridor’s left passage. Suddenly spotting a red dot moving on the wall toward him, he immediately dropped to the ground, avoiding the gunshot.

Changing position to peek and aim, this time Lin Wu saw a vague shadow wavering slightly under the lights. This reminded Lin Wu of a magazine he read last year, which mentioned that some of Fortress Company’s mercenaries were equipped with invisibility combat suits.

People wearing such suits could blend in perfectly with the surrounding environment when stationary.

Lin Wu leaned against a pillar, slung his backpack around, and pulled out a carbine rifle. He loaded it, switched off the safety, leaned to the side, and aimed. It was an M16 equipped with an infrared heat-sensing aiming system. Under the infrared light, the enemy’s outline was quickly revealed, and Lin Wu took him out with a three-round burst.

No other options, just many guns and gun accessories.

Lin Wu switched back to the G36 and advanced briskly to the opposite side. He didn’t encounter any more enemies en route. To Lin Wu’s disappointment, the card he obtained was still a gun, an assault rifle equipped with a red dot sight. The good news was the manager and two NPCs were nearby.

Lin Wu took the three NPCs to the sauna door. After communicating through the headset, Maya and the others covered Lin Wu as he retreated to the elevator area and entered the elevator. The elevator ascended, and Shana transformed into an interrogator. Soon, the manager confessed the legendary location of Hell’s Gate.

The elevator reached the 32nd floor, and Shadow Squad escorted the three NPCs to the rooftop, lighting a bonfire. The manager led everyone to the edge of the rooftop, peered down, and said, "Below is the pool on the 17th floor; Hell’s Gate is right above it."

Everyone looked down, but they couldn’t see what was below, not to mention that the rooftop mist hadn’t cleared up, making it impossible to see anything. Maya asked with doubt, "Jump down from here?"

The manager nodded, walked five meters along the edge, and said, "Jumping down within this area will get you into Hell’s Gate."

Do you believe it or not? Should we throw the manager down? He’s an NPC; he definitely won’t be transported back to the base. How to verify whether what the manager said was true? There’s only one way: someone has to jump down.

As the scout, Lin Wu conscientiously handed over his weapons to Little Knife.

At this time, Snow Egg spoke up, "If anyone’s going to jump, it should be me; I’ve already left Hardcore Mode. Lin Wu, you’re far more important to Shadow than I."

Lin Wu asked, "Are you being polite?"

"No."

Lin Wu gestured, "Please."

Snow Egg gave a wry smile, "You could be polite too."

Little Knife: "How about I do it?"

Maya said, "Let’s have Snow Egg do it, otherwise, this will drag on endlessly."

Snow Egg placed all his gear on the ground, took a deep breath, and looked at everyone, "I’m glad to have known you all."

Everyone nodded in unison, "Us too."

Snow Egg said, "Could you be a little more tactful?"

Lin Wu said, "When you get back, tell Stone not to slack off."

"Sure, I’m going," Snow Egg replied before jumping down. Everyone listened intently, but there was no sound.

Soon, the helicopter to pick up the NPCs arrived, and Shadow Squad took down the manager, only sending two NPCs away. After waiting another five minutes, Snow Egg still hadn’t appeared. They checked the base’s monument and didn’t see any sign of Snow Egg.

So Lin Wu remarked, "Throwing him down isn’t a loss." If there was a wrongful killing, let the manager complain to Dawn about it.

"I’m here, I’m here," Snow Egg promptly appeared, saving the manager’s life. Snow Egg ran over and said, "It really is a portal."

"What took you so long?" Little Knife asked.

"Stone had lots and lots of issues," Snow Egg explained. "Everyone, give me your stuff; I’ll make a few more trips."

Maya instructed, "Keep the bullets, two handguns each, two assault rifles each. Snow Egg and I will use AK-series rifles, everyone else use carbines."
