Chapter 661: Chapter 315 Flat-firing Gun

After lunch, Lin Wu and Qinglang felt drowsy. Qinglang occasionally slapped himself to stay awake, while Lin Wu had no qualms about dozing off. This is the difference between friends and boyfriends; if Lin Wu were Shuihua, Qinglang might have kicked Shuihua, saying, "I’m not sleeping, how dare you sleep?" followed by another kick, "I’m asleep, how dare you disturb me?"

"Turn left at Line 1, full speed ahead," came Maya’s voice from the intercom. Although her voice was calm, you could still hear her excitement in the choice of words.

"Turn right at Line 2... Turn right at Line 3..."

"I see it," Qinglang shouted. "Lin Wu."

"Hm?"

"Get ready for battle."

"Oh."

This was a segment of the Mountain Climbing Railway, which wound around a large mountain and ascended. After reaching the mountain peak, it went through a railway bridge to another peak, followed by a 20-kilometer long mountain ridge railway line.

The No. 3 Spider Train’s locomotive, taking advantage of the speed-limiting terrain, was happily pursuing the Angel, oblivious to the pursuers that had appeared behind it.

The crew of the Angel looked up at the mountain peak, and the endless mountain rail tracks had left them in despair. At that moment, they saw a train belching black smoke as it chased after them, reaching a speed of 90 on a track limited to 60. On the left and right Corridor Bridges of the locomotive, one person stood on each side, firing non-stop at the Spider Train’s locomotive with repeater guns.

"Who’s so fierce?"

"The Orient Express, never heard of it."

As they spoke, the Orient Express’s locomotive collided with the No. 3 Spider Train’s locomotive. The No. 3 engine lurched forward, jamming against the Angel’s rear car. As the No. 3 Spider Train’s head raised its pincers in an attempt to slice through the carriage, it was pummeled by a barrage of bullets and shivered, retracting its claws.

Lin Wu and Maya split left and right, each holding a revolver in one hand. After a rapid-fire output, they tossed the pistols into the driver’s cab and drew shotguns from their backpacks, continuing to fire. The driver, Qinglang, silently reloaded, handing out a gun once ready, while Lin Ma kept urging, "Quick, quick."

Damn that Spider Train’s locomotive, it was slowly regenerating its life.

"Almost there," Qinglang said.

"Ram it," Maya commanded.

Qinglang threw back the guns to the others, performed an emergency brake, then accelerated again. The train rapidly charged forward, ramming into the rear of the Spider Train.

"No good," said Lin Wu. The speed difference was too small; it hardly lost any health. In the meantime, he had fired all six bullets in the chamber of his revolver, and needed to reload. Meanwhile, Maya, with a shotgun, had to reload after two shots.

Qinglang, seeing the Spider Train’s health bar fluctuating up and down but consistently around 75%, anxiously picked up the locomotive’s megaphone and shouted out, "Angel, shoot too!"

The conductor of the Angel replied, "We are shooting, but we’re almost out of ammo."

Perhaps seeing that their opponent was straightforward, or out of urgency, or from being in a battle frenzy, or from being extremely annoyed by the constant reloading, an irritated Lin Wu didn’t load a bullet properly and couldn’t push the cylinder back into place. Out of anger, he pulled out a dagger and leaped onto the No. 3 locomotive, stabbing wildly at its body. The locomotive, though appearing to be made of cast iron, was actually as soft as flesh.

This urgent situation forced the No. 3 locomotive to twist its body, trying to shake off Lin Wu, but due to the track restrictions and Lin Wu’s high Agility, it failed. Maya had planned to jump onto the Spider Train as well but seeing the extent of the train’s twisting, she ultimately didn’t proceed. Instead, she joined Qinglang in fully reloading each gun.

At this time, the No. 3 locomotive changed its strategy, keeping several small spiders that were originally going to leap towards the Angel on the train, attacking Lin Wu instead.

"Lin Wu," Maya called out, tossing over a revolver. Lin Wu caught it with his left hand and blew up a small spider that was pouncing towards his face. With his right hand, he activated the Woodpecker Battle Method. Under the boost of 22 Star Agility, his dagger stabbed into the No. 3 locomotive like a sewing machine, and the locomotive’s health began to slowly decrease.

Maya rushed to the item storage, then to the armory, and after tinkering for a while, returned to the Corridor Bridge of the locomotive. "Lin Wu," she said, tossing him two bundles of tubular bombs.

"Throw them into the holes where the small spiders are being ejected," Maya instructed.

Lin Wu pulled the pins, took a few steps forward, ducked to avoid a small spider’s lunge, and threw a bundle of explosives into an ejection port, then tossed the other bundle into another port.

"Run," Maya shouted.

Lin Wu ran across the locomotive, leaping back onto the Orient Express. "Brake," Maya yelled.

The person in charge of the Angel commanded, "Full throttle acceleration!"

Five seconds later, accompanied by a thunderous explosion, the Spider Train’s locomotive blew apart like a watermelon, spraying gore. Its remaining body, less than 20% intact, stopped on the tracks, crushed and ground over by the passing Orient Express, as the trio aboard the fast train raised their arms in shouts of triumph.

Loot: Flat-firing Gun. Requires installation at a factory stop, can only be mounted on an open-top carriage.

mm caliber, projectile weighing five kilograms, unlimited ammo supply.

Drawback, due to its nature as a flat-firing gun, the range is only 500 meters. Moreover, although there’s an unlimited supply of ammo, players must transport it from the item storage; they can only carry one shell at a time, with the ability to load the next one only after firing. Additionally, players must manually operate the entire firing process.

The operation process has been greatly simplified. Players simply need to open the breech, load the shell, close the breech, and fire after aiming. As for the power, players will need to test it themselves.

The Angel slowed down, intending to communicate with the Orient Express to express gratitude, but Maya, having obtained the flat-firing gun, was in no mood to deal with these miscellaneous tasks. She focused on the map, searching for a factory station.
