Maya didn’t hear the noise because the height difference of the stairs obscured Lin Wu’s position from her. Lin Wu was certain that lifting his foot would cause the pebbles to make noise, so he slowly placed his foot back down, making his footing stable.

He was only 10 meters away from the south door, and he knew the sniper was scanning from the window for the source of the suspicious sound.

Maya asked, "How’s it going?"

Lin Wu dared not speak; only he could save himself now. Or perhaps Nightmare could attempt a brave sacrifice to distract and gain some noise for him, potentially allowing him to escape.

Why were there small stones all over the railway track? The ignorant Lin Wu did not know that these stones, called ballast, served a special purpose.

A bullet struck a meter away from Lin Wu; clearly, the sniper had not seen him and the shot was a probing attack. Seizing the opportunity, Lin Wu pulled his left foot in and crouched on the railway track.

Lin Wu crossed to the second rail track, using the rail to get closer to the south gate. Now, beneath the one-and-a-half-meter-high platform, he believed that even without Stealth, the sniper could not see him. However, the next step was extremely dangerous; Lin Wu needed to climb up the one-and-a-half-meter-high step. Once on the platform, he would be only 4 meters away from the sniper, and even with the cover of darkness, the sniper would definitely see Lin Wu.

Maya asked, "Does the enemy have night vision goggles?"

Nightmare replied, "They should."

Maya asked, "Did you bring Molotov Cocktails?"

"We did."

The sniper put down the dressed-up mannequin and continued to watch the area in front of him, especially Platform 2 and the reed beds. Then he saw an object fly from the reed bed and explode on Platform 2, bursting into flames. The fire, enhanced by the night vision goggles, blinded the sniper.

The sniper immediately ducked and stepped back; he needed time to recover his vision. Lin Wu had already flipped onto Platform 1, and two Wind Stingers rushed into the waiting room. At a 4-meter distance, there was no need to lock onto the target, and at such close range, it was also unnecessary. Silent Night fired three shots and took down the sniper, and Lin Wu moved forward, noticing some differences.

Lin Wu wasn’t sure if it was due to an update or because he was fighting NPCs, but when the NPCs got shot, their reactions were very realistic. Their bodies twitched, they couldn’t fight back, but they didn’t die immediately. They seemed like they wanted to shout, but no sound came out. Lin Wu mimicked what he had seen in the movies and stepped forward to finish the job, then crouched down for Corpse Looting.
