Chapter 422: Chapter 222 Wedding Preparations_3
Shana had called Dashuang back from the sentry post, and Stone, as the leader, raised his glass to officially welcome Dashuang into Shadow. After a toast and applause, Dashuang nodded to everyone. Stone explained that considering the strength disparity between Dashuang and the others, for Dashuang’s safety, they decided to have her stay at the base without going on missions. Stone also told Dashuang to practice her shooting during this period and that the base would try to get her some advanced Skill Books.
Dashuang was completely obedient to this decision. She was genuinely moved by Shadow and kept expressing her gratitude to everyone.
Maya mentioned that the storeroom was stocked with coffee, tea, milk tea, snacks, and so on, which could be taken and used at will while on sentry duty. She also told Dashuang to claim an assault rifle herself, as such items were not rare in Shadow. Since Forest Wolf was at the Meteorological Station base, Maya did not specify anything special regarding this.
After the night feast began, everyone pushed their cups around and made toasts. The topic of discussion for the day was: the resolution to ban Maya and Shana from playing mahjong. This motion met with opposition from some members, so it was agreed to postpone the decision to the next night feast. Then came the main event, where everyone handed in a marriage list.
Before this, Stone had asked Dashuang whether she wanted to join the marriage troop or continue to be single. Dashuang, who viewed marriage in name only very lightly, agreed to join.
...
For Snow Egg and Little Knife, there were no issues. Lin Wu and Maya wrote each other’s names and also had no issues. Peanut wrote Horse Soul, Horse Soul wrote Emerald Feather, and Emerald Feather wrote Peanut; a love triangle emerged. After a game of rock-paper-scissors, it was decided that Peanut would marry Dashuang, and Horse Soul would marry Emerald Feather.
Everyone in their respective teams applied for marriage. Lin Ma chose not to hold a wedding but simply to register the marriage. Peanut and Dashuang, Horse Soul and Emerald Feather did the same. The focus, though, was on Snow Egg and Little Knife, who had surprisingly never discussed this matter beforehand.
Little Knife wanted to have an outdoor wedding on the cliff by the sea outside a church. Snow Egg dared not refuse and immediately agreed. However, hosting a wedding brought new troubles, as the newlyweds now had the right to choose their chief bridesmaid and best man, and all the wedding details had to be managed by the new couple or the chief bridesmaid and best man.
For example, how tall did you want the cliff to be? As tall as Mount Everest or as low as Shrimp Mountain? Also, was there a need for NPC flower children, styles of wedding dresses, bespoke pastors or priests, and was it a celestial church or a Protestant wedding? Even the position of the sun on the day, wind power, humidity, and other conditions could be customized.
Next was the most important task, selecting some poor souls to be the chief bridesmaid and best man.
Snow Egg looked at Lin Wu, who was immersed in playing the silent violin with Wai, clearly he couldn’t be responsible for it, otherwise, he might set all the NPC guests as Titans. Come to think of it, that scene would be quite spectacular.
Snow Egg then looked at Stone, who had experience with marriage and plenty of wisdom. Stone, sensing danger, said leisurely, "Are you sure you want a divorced man to be your chief best man?"
To ensure good luck, Snow Egg immediately scrapped the idea. Next, Snow Egg considered her good buddy Horse Soul, who earnestly said, "We are all brothers, if you’re going to set someone up, why not do it to Su Shi?"
Su Shi hurriedly said, "Having a talent like Peanut as the chief best man is what gives the wedding style."
Peanut: "..." No one was left behind him; surely they couldn’t pass the burden to that dog-violin player? No, the violin-player dog? Or rather, the person playing the dog violin?
"I..."
Snow Egg promptly decided, "That settles it then. Peanut will be the chief best man, fully in charge of negotiating with the chief bridesmaid about the wedding. The principle of negotiation is to give in. Whatever the other side needs, we let them have it."
The girls were having an incredibly fun chat.
Shana: "It must be under the starry sky."
Emerald Feather: "A bright moon would be nice. It provides light and a backdrop, and you can walk toward everyone from the Magpie Bridge accompanied by the music."
Maya also joined in the fun: "The music at the scene must be solemn to highlight the feeling of a queen descending from the heavens to marry a mortal."
Shana: "Then we must overturn all the arrangements."
Dashuang asked timidly, "Should we select the wedding dress first?"
"Right, the wedding dress is the most important." Everyone nodded in agreement.
Lin Wu, playing the violin for the dog, drifted over to Stone and said while playing, "I predict the wedding won’t be able to happen within this month." Then he drifted away.
Stone agreed; typically, the men should build a wedding based on the women’s preferences and then the women make adjustments. However, Snow Egg had become an easy-going proprietor, accepting all of the girls’ requests unconditionally. He didn’t realize this would cause the women to endlessly seek perfection in the wedding ceremony.
It was all Dawn’s fault. Dawn had provided unlimited possibilities for the wedding, leading to an endless number of combinations. The more choices there were, the more trouble arose.
