Chapter 1013: Chapter 438: Immense Wealth_2

The moment Lin Wu pulled out the mosaic, the entire server boiled over, before they all started to criticize Lin Wu for breaking his word—how could you pull it out and not drink? Some girls were perplexed, wondering how one could draw a side profile curve.

Everyone was drinking hot beverages and eating barbecued meat as Dawn then announced the scoring rules.

The first rule: Each survival time is X, for example, if you survive 10 days in one go, then it’s points multiplied by 1. Survive 100 days, it’s points multiplied by 2, survive a full year for a 2.5 multiplier, and two full years for a 3x multiplier. Survival time indeed has a bonus, but the rate is not high. Shameless Dawn emphasized survival bonuses before the game began, truly deserving of condemnation.

The second rule: Death results in point deduction. Each death deducts 20% of your total points, a punishment far beyond anyone’s imagination.

These two rules seemed off, but upon analysis, both were correct. The death penalty is self-explanatory, being able to resurrect is already a form of cheating. To prevent mere survival, the time bonus did not increase exponentially; the longer you survive, the lower the reward. Without the death penalty, the best way to gain points would be to die every hundred days.

Following that are 99 other descriptions affecting points, mainly of the following types.

Bonus category.

Base points: Members of small to medium bases, like the mountaintop base, get a 3% increase in point acquisition, while medium to large bases like Sawmill get a 5% bonus, container bases and commercial street large bases get a 7% bonus. For bases under a command system, Commanders get 1% of all base members’ points, and each Deputy Commander gets 0.5% of all regular members’ points.

Hearing this, Lin Wu immediately kicked over Stone’s chair, with Little Knife delivering a kick from the side, and then everyone joined in.

Base defense points: Assume a zombie is worth 1 point. In a one-star siege, killing a zombie earns 1 point. A two-star siege is two points, a three-star siege is four points, Four-Star Siege is eight points, and a five-star siege is sixteen points, and so on.

This was a meaty opportunity, but everyone was unsure how many zombies they had actually killed during base defense.

First kill on Mutant Zombies, each first kill grants the person a 2% point gain BUFF, permanently effective.

No sooner had the broadcast finished than Stone dragged Lin Wu down on the sand, amidst a flurry of punches, kicks, and pinches, and a group beatdown ensued. It was as if Lin Wu had maintained a 10% points enhancement BUFF from early in the game to its end. This was expected, but it always seemed a bit too much, especially when several 2% bonuses were concentrated on one individual, leading to a qualitative change.

Environmental points: This is very detailed. Roughly speaking, the more hostile the environment you live in, the harder the dungeons you tackle, the higher the point bonus you get.

Hidden category.

Related to Shadow are: Long March.

A player who travels over a thousand kilometers in the game gets a permanent non-combat point percentage bonus. Non-combat means points for planting and harvesting crops, participating in radio interactions, serving on Sentry duty, and creating handicrafts. Even doing nothing at all, just being alive earns points every hour, but it’s the difference between 0.001 points and 1000 points.

The so-called travel over a thousand kilometers refers to the distance between points, not the actual walking distance. Aside from Lin Wu and Maya, others had only traveled 250 kilometers at most.

Additionally, there are things like making homemade gunpowder, cultivating new crop varieties, being among the top 50 in the server for killing the most zombies, and so on. It was uncertain whether Shadow had these or not. There was even a hidden reward for foodies, conditioned on eating over two kilograms of food a day on average.

Deduction category.

The first is death, the most direct and biggest impact on points—it deducts 20% of the current total points each time you die.

Expulsion: Members expelled from their base by a Commander’s or collective vote lose a percentage of the points earned as a base member, based on base size.

Desertion: In a command or collective system, those who leave the base without the Commander’s or majority’s consent will be deducted a percentage of the total points they have earned as a base member.

Indiscriminate killing: Attacking and killing neutral mission NPCs.

Lin Wu immediately complained, stating that he never knew any neutral mission NPCs. Complaint dismissed. Not a big deduction, didn’t care much.

Infighting: Shooting targets within another’s safe zone.

Lin Wu complained again, complaint dismissed, not a big deduction, just messing around.

Everyone else would explain the rules before playing the game. Dawn, on the other hand, explained after playing. It was definitely a pitfall, but since everyone was trapped, it was as if no one was.

After an hour of rule explanation, the distribution of points began. The players’ system added an operable interface.

The first to call out was Shana, who unabashedly exclaimed, "One hundred and twenty million, oh, Jade Emperor, what on earth did I do?"

Thinking it over, Shana asked, "Is that high or low?" Without comparison, there is no sense of value. What if everyone else starts with billions?

Everyone turned to look at Lin Wu, who took a casual glance and sighed leisurely, "You guys go first, let me pretend for a bit."

Stone looked at Lin Wu with disdain, saying, "Eighty million."

Su Shi was slightly disappointed, "I only have sixty million."

Their difference was understandable. After all, Stone was the vampire boss, and Su Shi was the blood-sucked worker. Both of them had only killed a handful of zombies. Although Shana had killed many zombies and was even the Deputy Commander, she truly died twice.

Many had forgotten about Horse Soul, but Shadow hadn’t. Horse Soul then announced his own score, "Thirty million."

Everyone nodded, considering he hadn’t participated in Hardcore Mode and died in the late stages of the game, becoming detached from the group, everyone patted Horse Soul on the shoulder to encourage him.

Lin Meng’s score had nothing to do with the player’s scores, but she still reported her score, "One hundred and forty-two thousand points."

Everyone laughed kindly; Lin Meng’s face turned red as she explained, "My score doesn’t relate to you guys."

"We know, we know," everyone comforted her kindly.

"This is so frustrating," Lin Meng asked, "Maya, how much did you score?"

Maya hesitated, "Mine? I’ve died once."

"So how much is it?" everyone asked curiously.

Maya said, "One point two billion."

Everyone was immediately incredulous, asking, "Did you count the zeroes right? We worry about our brother suffering, but also about our brother driving a Range Rover. And this isn’t even a Range Rover; this is simply a shrimp path."

Maya nodded, "Just under one point two billion, eleven billion nine hundred and eighty million."

Everyone looked at Lin Wu, whose expression became very strange. Shana said, "Let’s us go first."

Little Knife: "A little over one hundred million." Never died, a fierce fighter.

Snow Egg was not too shabby either: "Nearly one hundred and ten million." In the later stages, Little Knife became conservative, while Snow Egg participated in many inventions and creations.

Finally, it was Lin Wu’s turn. Lin Meng urged, "Just give the number straight, no jokes."

"Mhm mhm," everyone nodded in agreement.

Lin Wu jumped up, striking an archery pose, and seeing his showy antics, everyone howled in dismay. As expected, Lin Wu announced, "Two point two billion."

Everyone couldn’t believe it, even Maya was shocked, "You have ten billion more than me?"

Lin Meng muttered to herself, "We’re all humans, we’re all humans."

Lin Wu said, "First kill bonuses? Routine zombie kills?"

Shana added, "Performance in event dungeons, last stand counterattacks. As mentioned earlier, environmental points include contribution bonuses, and to be fair, Lin Wu played a pivotal and stabilizing role in almost all quests. I think he scored particularly high for this. Especially for saving teammates from danger countless times. He was also the only player to survive for 180 days."

Everyone expressed their understanding, but that didn’t stop them from beating up Lin Wu.

After getting a good beating in, Stone said, "Now, it’s about purchasing power. Everyone, open your interfaces and take a look."

After a while of checking, everyone understood. Shana said, "Isn’t this just equivalent to Blue Star Currency? A decent hovercar is fifty thousand, and downtown apartments are three thousand per square meter." The median income of Blue Star is ten thousand, which is the median, not the average. Points are equivalent to savings.

Maya said, "Everyone buy what you want now. It’s free shopping time; if someone else buys it, you’ll miss out."

Maya was overthinking it a bit. Among the million people, the majority were still poor. It’s just that after hanging out in this circle for a while, she felt everyone should have a savings of several million, as this game was not that difficult after all.
