Jinn BLADE
Chapter 68 | Eidra Corrupted

Chapter 68: Chapter 68 | Eidra Corrupted

*GROAR!!

The beast roared, unleashing a violent tremor that rippled across the area.

The very air shifted along with the roar, leaves trembling in the trees as pulse of wind crashed outward, brushing against the skin of both Kain and Jinn.

Jinn could sense it.

Kain could feel it.

The moment had finally come—the final battle began.

With a sharp crack of its tail, the beast sliced through the air, releasing a powerful gust that pushed towards them with so much force that their feet nearly lifted off the ground.

Then it moved, sudden and explosive.

*Boom!

The creature lunged toward them, aiming to strike with a wide sweeping blow as its claws extended outward.

Both Jinn and Kain leaped towards the side, landing with their blades raised as they prepared to counter.

But the beast was relentless and smart.

In an instant, it spun and whipped its tail in an arc, the bladed tip clashing against their swords with a loud

*Clang!

That reverberated along the air.

The force of the strike made both Kain and Jinn reel slightly backwards, their back foot planting on the ground.

Before either could recover, the creature then reared up and slammed both of its massive arms down onto the ground.

*BOOM!

A shockwave burst out from the impact, rattling the ground beneath them.

The force of the beast’s slam made the earth tremble violently, as if there was an earthquake—throwing off both Kain and Jinn’s footing, making them stagger.

Relentlessly, the beast snapped its tail, the bladed end was wrapped in a writhing and black eidra as it lashed toward Kain with a brutal speed.

*Whip!

Kain dodged towards the side in reply, turning his body.

But it wasn’t fast enough.

The edge of the tail grazed his side, slicing through his cloth and skin—blood spraying out from the wound in a sharp burst.

"Argh!" Kain grunted, stumbling back as his one hand clutched the wound by instinct, the grip on his sword weakeaning.

*Grrr...

The beast growled deep in its throat, eyes narrowing as it lunged forward, its jaws open wide.

Aiming to tear Kain’s head from his shoulders.

But before its mouth could even get closer to Kain.

*BOOM!

A massive burst of crimson eidra exploded against its side.

"Motherfucker!" Jinn’s voice rang out in a sharp and furious manner—cutting through the chaos as he appeared beside the creature in an instant blink.

*SLASH!

His blade slashed clean through the beast’s side, cleaving into both flesh and muscle as black blood sprayed upward from the angle of Jinn’s sword.

*ROAR!!

The beast roared in pain.

Yet it didn’t retreat.

Instead, it grew evenmore enraged.

The corrupted eidra around its body began to ripple and pulse, shifting like a living mist—

Before suddenly exploding outward in a thick and suffocating wave.

The ground around the beast blacked.

Grass withered in an itself, ciurling on itself.

Leaves on nearby trees dried and began to fall.

The very air changed—turned into something heavy, foul, and tainted with something twisted and unnatural.

The air was corrupted.

*cough!

Jinn coughed, his lungs began to burn as he tried to breath through the corrupted air.

But quickly, he centered himself and focused.

He wrapped his own eidra tightly from within, forming a barrier along his organs.

Focus... focus... control your eidra...

The moment his eidra surged within, the invading corruption began to ironically decay and vanish, burning away until he could finally breathe normally once again.

He stood seedy, eyes wide and prepared.

Yet his eyes widened on what he saw.

Kain was on the ground, writhing in pain as one hand was clutching his chest while the other was dug into the dirt, scraping as the pain from within him burned his insides.

Blood—dark and unnatural—began to drip from the corner of his eyes as he struggled to breath.

He looked at Jinn, confused and afraid.

The corrupted eidra was eating him from the inside.

Kain was dying.

"KAIN! FOCUS YOUR EIDRA!" Jinn shouted, panic evident on his voice and face.

Without wasting any more precious time, Jinn charged towards the beast—fury and desperation evident in each and every step.

He had to stop the beast.

Before it was too late.

Yet the beast didn’t hesitate.

It turned sharply towards Kain, its tail already coiling as its blade aimed at Kain.

Kain couldn’t move—his body frozen.

Petrified.

As each vein present on his body began to darken as the corruption from within spread deeper and deeper.

Jinn’s heart pounded as he charged—fueled by desperation, rage, and urgency.

"DIE!"

With a roar, he slashed at the beast’s arm, his blade slicing deep and releasing a gush of black blood that flowed from the injury.

But the creature didn’t flinch,

It ignored Jinn completely.

Its tail then

*Snap!

towards Kain in a brutal and piercing thrust—aimed straight for his chest.

"N-NO!" Jinn shouted, panic burning in his throat as he raised Fangeryth once more, both hands gripping the hilt tight.

His usual stance changed.

From a stance that is used for piercing and plunging attacks.

To one that is used to perform devastating swings—a form that is used to completely decimate whatever its strikes.

A form that is used by Zendrell himself—the monster.

I have to use it now... Just like Zendrell taught me!

Jinn knew if he were to use it now, he would surely lose consciousness.

Yet he had no time to debate whether he should use it or not.

Kain was about to die.

Crimson eidra then erupted along his blade, cracking like lightning across its blade.

Power pulsed and surged through his body, veins bulging, his muscles tightening under the continuous accumulation of eidra.

He brought the sword up over his shoulder, preparing for a strike that could shatter whatever it hits.

Only a split of a second had just passed—the beast’s tail was only inches away from Kain—

Then,

*BOOM!

A shockwave tore through the air as a figure crashed into the scene, faster that Jinn’s eye could even follow.

Jinn’s eyes widened as it followed the beast’s body.

The beast was sent flying—launched across the surrounding area as if it was struck by a powerful cannon.

The force rippled the air, leaves dropping from branches as the creature slammed into a thick giant tree trunk with a thunderous crash.

It collapsed, body broken, and a massive dent in its side where a fist had landed.

Jinn snapped his head to turn towards the figure that had come in to intervene.

Massive. Broad.

Twin axes resting in each hand.

And a long wild grey beard that ran down to a chest covered in scars.

A slight smile came from Jinn’s face in relief.

"Biyo!" Jinn shouted.

Biyo’s gaze snapped to Kain, still in pain and gasping for air on the ground.

His expression then shifted—eyes narrowing and jaw tightening.

Biyo was angry.

Without a word, he began to walk towards the beast, axes gleaming as he gripped them tight—a vein popping at the corner of his forehead as he wore a serious expression.

Then another voice rang out.

"K-Kain!"

Jinn turned his gaze towards the voice.

It was Ophelia and the rest of his friends, rushing from the trees, their faces widening at the sight of Kain before they knelt beside him.

Jinn rushed towards them as well.

"Ophelia, you have to help him—his eidra’s being corrupted!" Jinn shouted, voice desperate and filled with concern.

"O-Ok!" Ophelia’s eyes widened as she saw the black blood, the way Kain’s veins pulsed like the void .

The air grew tense.

Kain’s life now rested in her hands.
