Jinn BLADE -
Chapter 104 | Carve
Chapter 104: Chapter 104 | Carve
Their footsteps echoed across the solid ground as Venedix moved forward, her pace steady and unshaken, with the rest of Jinn’s friends following close behind.
One by one, they wrapped their legs with eidra, the glowing strands tightening around their limbs as they tried their best to keep up with her stride.
Some struggled at first, nearly tripping, but quickly adjusted as they pushed themselves to match her speed.
The group continued on with haste, each step bringing them closer, until at last they arrived at the wide stone staircase that rose toward the enormous door—the entrance to the dark tower looming before them.
"Now that’s one huge tower alright..." Verhedyn muttered, his voice low and filled with awe.
His eyes slowly scanned upward, following the sharp, jagged design of the structure as it stretched into the clouds above, seeming to pierce right through the sky itself.
"Let’s not waste any more time," Venedix said plainly, her voice calm but firm as she placed one foot on the first stair, beginning the ascent without even looking back.
Yet before they all could move forward, movement caught their eyes.
Several silhouettes emerged at the top of the staircase, their outlines blurry and still at first.
Then, as they stepped forward, their forms became clearer—cloaked figures, cloaked in worn black robes that swayed gently in the wind.
Dark eidra shimmered faintly along their edges, pulsing like it was alive.
Then, in eerie unison, they raised their arms into the air. Without hesitation, they started pulling the dark energy from the air around them, dragging in shadows from the broken ground, from the tower walls, from every crack and crevice.
The swirling eidra converged above their heads, slowly forming a single large orb, dense and heavy with power.
The orb hovered above them and pulsed, crackling violently with unstable dark energy as thin streaks of lightning danced wildly across its surface, flickering like they were alive.
The sound it made was sharp and unsettling, almost painful to hear, like bones grinding hard under immense pressure.
The air around them grew heavier with each second, thick and suffocating, as if even the tower itself was holding its breath, waiting for something terrible to happen.
"Watch out! I think they’re preparing to unleash an a—" Kain shouted, pointing towards the cloaked figures, but before he could finish, sudden movements erupted from their side, cutting his warning short.
Garan and Venedix were already in motion.
"RAAAAAAGH!!!"
Garan lunged into the air with a strong jump, his massive form slicing through the wind as he let out a thunderous roar, launching himself straight at one of the cloaked figures like a crashing beast with no intention of slowing down.
His claws were raised high, eyes burning with a wild rage, and without holding back, he brought them down with full force, aiming to tear through the enemy in one savage blow.
Venedix, on the other hand, vanished in a blink, her body turning into a blur as she reappeared in front of the enemy line.
With a single graceful swing of her blade, she cut through multiple enemies in one clean, deadly slash, their bodies falling apart before they even realized what happened.
"Come on, let’s move!" Hector barked, already rushing forward without waiting.
With a shared nod, the rest of the group followed, pushing themselves as they ran up the flight of stairs.
*Thud! *Thud! *Thud!
Their feet pounded against the stone steps, the sounds of battle and chaos above growing louder with every second.
They continued to climb, the tension growing thicker, until they finally reached the top—and were met with the sight of another large courtyard spread out before them.
The area was swarming with thousands of armored enemies, their armor dark and reflecting the twisted light from the tower.
Among them were powerful eidrics, already launching waves of ranged attacks that exploded across the ground in blasts of dark energy.
The air was filled with the sound of clashing steel, war cries, and the hiss of magic.
Garan and Venedix were already deep in the fight.
Garan was bulldozing through the crowd with sheer force, smashing through lines of enemies with wide, brutal swings.
Venedix moved like a shadow, dancing between opponents, her blade flashing as she cut a clear path through them all.
Together, they carved a line straight toward the massive door that loomed in the distance, towering even above the battlefield like it was the gate to another world.
*CRACK!
With a powerful crimson crack from her sword, Venedix carved an X-shaped wave of eidra that tore through the battlefield, lacerating everything that was unlucky enough to be caught in its path.
The ground split, enemies were sent flying, and the force behind it echoed like a thunderclap.
She then turned her head over her shoulder, her eyes sharp and her voice ringing out like a war horn.
"FOLLOW ME!"
Her command boomed through the air, loud and clear, the kind of voice that came from someone who had done this a hundred times before.
She didn’t pause to see if they obeyed—she already knew they would.
Without a moment of hesitation, the others rushed in behind her, following the trail she had carved through the battlefield.
They fought without stopping, striking down any enemy that dared step into their path.
Their movements were sharp, desperate but focused, each one fighting as if their life depended on it—because it did.
Every child unleashed their own powers, working together as they kept the enemy from closing in from the flanks.
Verhedyn hurled sharp daggers made of ice that spun through the air and impaled enemies with freezing force.
Hector’s roots slithered out from the cracks in the ground, wrapping around legs and throats, pulling enemies into the dirt.
Ophelia’s radiant blasts of light pierced through the shadows, blinding and burning their foes.
Orin hurled explosive blasts that erupted like firebombs, scattering groups before they could organize.
Kain slashed with quick precision, cutting down those who got too close with wild but practiced swings.
Vox sent arcs of electricity through the field, shocking clusters of enemies and frying them where they stood.
Together, their powers combined into a chaotic storm of destruction.
They moved as one unit, pushing forward through the sea of the dead, their eyes fixed on Venedix who led the charge without slowing.
Garan, on the other hand, stayed off to the side, tearing into waves of enemies with terrifying strength, his wrath keeping pressure off the flanks.
Meanwhile, Biyo stood firm at the back, holding the rear, his focus on making sure no one got through to attack from behind.
Each of them had a role.
Each of them fought like hell.
A few moments passed, and finally, the group managed to pierce through the last of the enemies in their path. The breaths of the children were heavy, but there was no time to rest.
"They’re all coming this way!" Vox pointed out, his voice sharp as he glanced back toward the narrowing path where more enemies began to swarm.
Without missing a beat, Biyo stepped forward.
"Don’t worry, I got this," he said calmly.
He took a slow, steady inhale, then raised both hands high above his head.
With a strong exhale, he brought them crashing down toward the ground with a thunderous motion.
*BANG!
The air around him cracked with force, and suddenly, massive glaciers of ice burst from the earth, forming a thick and towering wall that sealed off the choke point completely.
The path behind them was now blocked by a shining barrier of ice, cold and solid, unbreakable.
The roars and screams of the dead echoed behind the wall as they smashed their weapons against it, but nothing broke through.
The ice held strong.
Still, they weren’t safe yet.
Ranged attacks from corrupted eidrics came flying toward them, soaring through the sky like twisted artillery, dark trails marking their path.
Before the projectiles could land, Ophelia, Orin, Vox, and Verhedyn reacted fast.
They moved forward without needing to be told, already in sync from fighting beside each other so many times.
Ophelia raised her hand and summoned a barrier of light.
Orin threw an explosive sphere into the air.
Vox sent a wave of electricity outward, while Verhedyn cast sharp shards of ice.
The combination of their powers met the incoming attacks midair.
*Bang! *Bang! *BANG!
A bright explosion followed, the collission lighting up the skies and echoing loudly through the air as the shockwave rolled across the courtyard.
"Mhm," Venedix hummed lowly, watching from the side as the dust settled.
Her eyes scanned each of them with quiet interest.
"It seems that the mentors have been proven useful," she muttered beneath her breath, more to herself than to anyone else.
Without saying anything further, Venedix turned away and began walking toward the massive door that now stood directly in front of them.
The door was ancient, towering, filled with dark symbols and heavy silence.
"Now, let’s get Jinn."
