Chapter 93: I can’t believe I had a big shot as a customer this whole time

It was honestly my first time seeing Geumtae react so strongly and wildly.

It was actually refreshing. He looked human and not like a doll.

Geum Jaeho sat next to Geumtae while I sat opposite them, sipping my bubble tea while they fumed at each other.

"Is your head okay?" I asked Jaeho and he nodded.

"Don’t worry, I’m not as weak as this guy." He said, pointing his thumb at Geumtae and though it was awkward, I managed to smile.

"I see." I said. "Well, would you like anything?" I asked out of courtesy and he nodded.

"In fact, I do." He turned to his brother. "I want to meet the one behind this picture." He said, showing a picture on his phone to Geumtae. "Try to work your magic."

Geumtae sighed, placing his hand on his head.

"I see this damn picture everywhere I look now." He muttered and then, he turned to me and said,

"You see, Sweetie, this is what I was talking about. This boy makes the most unimaginable demands." He said and turned to Jaeho. "How in the world am I supposed to find someone whose face hasn’t been revealed yet?" He asked.

"Are you asking me? You’re supposed to be the all-doing big brother." Jaeho said and I started understanding where Geumtae was coming from.

To have someone like that could be a bit vexing but for some reason, he looked cute.

"I may not be of help but may I see that picture? I’m a fan of photography, so..." I said, unaware of what I was putting myself into.

Jaeho glanced at the camera around my neck and nodded.

He handed his phone to me, and I gave out a nervous laugh.

"What is it, Sweetie? You think it’s impossible too, don’t you?" Geumtae said, taking the phone from me. "Jaeho, don’t bother others like this and wait till I tell you ’it’s time’." He said, handing the phone back to him, and then turned to me. "Don’t worry, Sweetie. It’s not possible to know a yet-to-be revealed photographer."

"Well, actually," I smiled awkwardly. "I’m the one who took those pictures."

They both stared at me with no words and then, after processing what I had said, their eyes widened.

"What?!"

"You’re not messing with me on my Hyung’s others, are you?" Jaeho asked, staring at me with suspicion and I shook my head.

"No, not at all." I said. "I would never do that. The twins in the picture, Geumtae have met them as well." I said, and

Jaeho shot a glare at Geumtae who was already darting his eyes aside. "I recently started working at Wailers and those twins are under my care. So..."

Jaeho suddenly fell down on his knees in front of me, frightening me and he kowtowed.

"Please take me in as your student." He suddenly said.

His actions were so sudden that I almost got a heart attack.

Even Lily, who was in the bag next to my leg, got a fright.

"You... You don’t need to do that. Please, stand up." I said.

"Not until you take me in as your student." He insisted and my eyes started swirling.

What was he doing?

Everyone was staring.

Geumtae sighed in exhaustion and tried to pick his brother up from the floor, but it was as if he glued himself to the floor and wouldn’t budge.

"Let go of me, Hyung. This is my once in a lifetime opportunity." Jaeho stubbornly said. "I will not stand up unless he takes me in as his student. I must learn from him."

Geumtae had some of his nerves wrecked and he almost pounced on his brother but he calmed himself down, looked at me who was still confused about what to do, and mouthed,

"Let’s get out of here." I looked at Jaeho on the floor and didn’t have much of a choice. I picked up Lily’s bag and walked past him without him noticing a thing and headed for the door as silently as we could.

Seeing we were silent, Jaeho raised his head, only to find our table empty.

"Huh? Where did they go?" He asked and we saw this as a sign to pick up the pace.

But he caught us walking out the door and yelled,

"Geum Taeho, where are you taking my mentor?!" He roared and earned laughter from the customers who were watching our little comedy.

We ran for a while and stopped when we were sure we had lost him and I laughed.

"Your brother is hilarious." I said, while breathing heavily from the unplammed exercise and Geumtae nodded.

"That’s how he is." He said. "He tries to hide his personality, but he can’t keep it hidden for too long and sometimes acts without thinking." He gave out a sigh, after catching his breath and asked, "Are you okay, Sweetie?"

"Yeah, I’m fine." I said, and he reached out to brush the corner of my eyebrow.

"That’s a relief." He said, smiling at me and I got awkward again. "That reminds me, you never told me you were a photographer." He said. "I always saw you with a camera but I thought it was just a hobby of yours."

"Haha, it’s because you never asked." I said.

"Then, is it okay for you to tell us you’re the photographer behind ’Angels’?" He asked and I shook my head.

"Don’t worry, I didn’t sign a contract of secrecy. Besides, the world will know soon enough." I said, smiling softly. "By Monday, I think."

"Oh my, I can’t believe I had a big shot as a customer this whole time." Geumtae said and suddenly stood in a thinking pose. "Maybe I shouldn’t have given you those discounts."

"What?!" I exclaimed, shocked and he laughed.

"Don’t worry, I was just joking." He said and I sighed.

We started walking again and saw that we had already gotten to his shop. We stopped and I guessed that was goodbye, but then he said,

"Hold on, Sweetie. I need to give you something." He said and went in.

He returned shortly and said,

"It looked like you liked my perfume the last time so I got you one as a present." He said but I frantically waved my hands.

"Oh, you don’t have to. I... I didn’t do anything to deserve it." I said but he put the perfume box in my hand and said,

"It’s also a thank you for eating with me last time." He said. "Though it was cut short in the middle because of those guys, I still had a great time."

His smile was genuine this time. Well, I looked at the box, there was no reason to decline.

"T-thank you." I said. "And I’m sorry for leaving like that."

Great, I found the perfect opportunity.

Geumtae shook his head and said,

"Don’t worry about it." He said. "But if it still bothers you, use the perfume as often as you can. I feel that’s a better compensation on my end."

How was that compensation when it was his gift?

Well, as long as he wasn’t mad.

I smiled and went on my way.

The day was quite fulfilling. It wasn’t boring at all and I wasn’t bothered by the thought of the twins.

’I bet I’ll get a good night’s sleep.’ I thought, smiling to myself.

That evening, while preparing kimchi stew, I got a text from Seojun.

I already thought it was strange that they didn’t try to contact me after what happened and thought maybe they wanted to give me some space to clear their head as well.

But then, I read his text and my eyes rolled back.

It read,

"Don’t forget your promise, Hyung. Tomorrow’s Sunday and you promised to play with us."

My hands trembled and my knees felt weak,

Oh, why did I have to make that promise?
