Chapter 69: It’s just being pretentious to me
Dongwoo realized a lot of things after calming down and taking a stroll.
His past, as disgusting and horrible to look at for the average man, didn’t seem to affect the twins’ attitude towards him. In any case, it only prompted them to get physical with him.
It was like they had seen the go-ahead they needed before attempting to cross a line with him.
’Was it because they knew I was gay? Was that why they did all those things to me?’ he thought, clenching the shirt around his chest. ’Or was it all out of the feelings they had for me? In the first place, where did those feelings come from? And for how long?’
He didn’t know how to answer those questions and definitely wouldn’t be able to do it alone either. The best way would be to approach them about this topic but... He was scared.
They say fear doesn’t always need a reason to be present and although that may be true, one would still need a trigger for that fear.
Avoiding the twins wouldn’t help much. Well, it certainly didn’t do anything in the long run. After avoiding them for three days straight, it only ended up backfiring.
’Though, not truly thankful for it, I got to know they are aware of my past thanks to it.’ he thought and rubbed the corner of his neck. ’I guess, I should probably apologize for going haywire on them and avoiding them too. I should hear what they have to say before getting mad unnecessarily. I might’ve scared them.’
He looked up at the sky and sighed.
’I guess it’s time to face the music.’
He finally let out his hand to flag a cab and went on his way.
Meanwhile, Geumtae, who was absent during all of this spectacle, only got out of the restaurant after finishing his food.
"Good food shouldn’t be wasted just because a few people don’t appreciate it and only know how to spoil the mood." He stated, walking out of the restaurant. "Now, should I head back to the vet?"
Just then, he spotted a familiar face.
"I knew I’d find you here." The familiar face approached him.
He had white hair, just like Geumtae, but short and with two piercings on each of his ears, putting on a black face cap and black outfit that made him appear like an emo boy.
"Why weren’t you at the vet, Hyung?"
"Ugh," he rolled his eyes. "Geum Jaeho, how did you know where to find me, you brat?" Geumtae folded his arms. "Did you install a tracking app on my phone again?"
"You have no proof." Jaeho said, folding his arms.
An irk formed on Geumtae’s head.
"No proof? You literally found me in the one place I hardly ever visit. It can’t be a coincidence."
Jaeho feigned ignorance and stayed silent.
"Respect your brother’s privacy, you punk."
"Glad to see you’ve taken off the mask you use to deceive your customers." Jaeho said with a cunning smirk. "Who would believe you were all smiles and sunshine if they saw you now?"
"It’s not like I was pretending." He rubbed the back of his neck. "You have to smile for your customers. If you don’t, you only scare them away."
"It’s just being pretentious to me."
"Think what you want. You’ll never get it."
Geum Jaeho, Geumtae Do’s younger brother who just finished school. He was considerably the same age as the twins, if not younger, and unlike the twins, who looked impeccable, he was rather small. Just like Dongwoo.
Geumtae sighed.
"What do you want from me now?" He asked and started walking away, letting his brother follow him from behind.
"You promised me, Hyung." Jaeho said, causing Geumtae to pause in his tracks.
He sighed.
"You know it’s going to take much longer than this." He said. "If you rush me and Haejoo Hyung finds out, know you’re never getting this opportunity again, so be patient." He said, and Geum Jaeho gritted his teeth.
Patience wasn’t exactly his strong suit. But for this to work, he needed to follow Hyung’s words and exercise a bit more patience.
"Fine." He said. "I’ll wait."
Geumtae watched him for a while before shaking his head. That little impatience of his would someday cost him a lot. He needed to start learning how to wait.
His younger brother just wanted to get into the entertainment industry not as a model, but as a photographer. It was something he, Geumtae, could help him with without much stress, but the problem was the CEO of Wailers, their older brother, was completely against it.
When he brought it up as a ’what if’ he frowned with his bushy eyebrows, which are finally trimmed after a lot of intervention from the people under him, and said it was utter nonsense.
So, Jaeho’s only option was to get into it without him knowing. Another hard feat he couldn’t accomplish on his own, thanks to his elder brother’s influence, so he had to turn to his older brother, Geumtae Do, for help.
’Well, it’s not that hard. I also hold some influence in many fields and can get him into it but...’ he grinned like a devil. ’Let this brother of mine suffer a little and learn how to be patient.’
He snickered.
"What are you being creepy about?" Jaeho asked with a weirded out expression and Geumtae turned to him with a smile.
"Do you really want to know?" He asked but Jaeho only got goosebumps from that advance and refused.
"I think I’ll pass."
"If you say so." Geumtae whistled away, planning to leave but then stopped and turned sharply at his brother. "Hurry up and get rid of that app on my phone. You’re invading your brother’s privacy, you punk."
"I don’t know what you’re talking about." Jaeho feigned ignorance and turned to walk the other way.
Geumtae got annoyed but he couldn’t exactly do anything. His younger brother was a computer genius so it was easy for him to hide the tracking app on his phone.
"Ugh, do I need to get a new phone?" He muttered to himself.
"Oh, and don’t try to get a new phone, Hyung." Jaeho yelled. "Nothing’s gonna change."
"That punk."
He sighed.
’That brat only knows how to get a rise out of me.’ Geumtae thought. ’He should use his skills in his field but no, he just wants to torment me with work. What does he like in photography?’
He shoved his fingers through his hair.
’Ah, things didn’t go well with my sweeties today. I’ll get another chance to try again, right?’ he thought and looked up at the sky. It was rather windy so he had to shove his hair behind his ear to avoid it from blocking his vision. ’But really, if he still hasn’t caught on to the feelings of those two mutts while having them by his side, then I’d say my sweetie is rather dense.’ he snickered. ’They looked familiar though.’
