It's Just A Picture (BL)
Chapter 65: Is this really the right way to go?

Chapter 65: Is this really the right way to go?

Seojun came back to the living room after doing his ’business’ in the bathroom. He changed his pants from the one he was wearing earlier thanks to an ’accident’.

"What’s this?" Seojin smirked. "Did you get too excited and leaked all over your pants?"

"I told you..." Seojun, annoyed, picked up a pillow and threw it at Seojin. "...to shut the fuck up!"

Seojin laughed after catching the pillow.

"Yeah, I heard and I chose to ignore."

It was clear he just wanted to piss him off like he did on a normal day. (And this is the same guy who is unbelievably calm and smiles sweetly in the presence of other people. If he isn’t a hypocrite, then I’m definitely a saint)

"Okay, now that you’re done jerking yourself up, let’s get going."

"Where to?"

"Madam Ann’s shop." Seojin said, taping a few things on his phone. "Hyung’s supposed to pick up his suit this morning so let’s go there. I don’t believe he’ll be able to avoid us if we’re standing right next to him."

It was a good idea and they would’ve definitely succeeded, only if their precious Hyung had gone to the shop.

They had a shoot from that afternoon till late in the night so the only chance Dongwoo had to pick up his suit was that morning. Or so they thought.

They waited for a while in Madam Ann’s shop, while she attended other things. They were sure Dongwoo would walk in any moment to pick up his suit and then they would have a chat with him, but it didn’t go as planned.

"Bad news, boy. Your friend said he’s not coming today." Madam Ann said, which broke the twin’s plans. "He called me just now and said something came up, so he won’t be able to make it."

"Then..."

"He said not to deliver the suit either." She said before Seojin had a chance to speak. "He won’t be home till late, so he would prefer to come over to try it out tomorrow morning."

This was not part of their plans. What could’ve possibly happened that Dongwoo chose not to pick up his suit?

"Wait, he couldn’t have done this to avoid meeting us, did he?" Seojun speculated and Seojin palmed his face. Right on point.

’My thoughts exactly.’ he thought, sadly. ’Hyung, what did we do wrong?’

Meanwhile, Dongwoo, who claimed ’something came up’ was at a coffee shop right next to Madam Ann’s shop.

He looked at his phone and sighed.

"Sure enough, I’m acting like a mouse." He mumbled.

He was on his way to Madam Ann’s shop when he spotted their car. He reflexively hid in a corner to avoid getting spotted and sneaked into the coffee shop.

He hoped the twins went there thanks to a prior engagement, but they were taking too long, so he got the hunch that they were waiting for him.

He gave up on the idea of picking up the suit and called Madam Ann.

"Is this really the right way to go?" He asked himself. "They’re the ones who paid for the suit, not that I asked them to, and they might just want to see how it looks on me. I... I’m feeling guilty."

But he couldn’t change his mind and go back to the shop now. He just needed to find a way to pass his time before it was time to head to the company.

And just then, he got a text from Geumtae.

"Sweetie, are you busy right now? I’m bored." His text said, and an idea sprung up on Dongwoo, so he texted back.

"No. I’m quite free till noon. Would you mind me paying off my debt now?"

He waited for Geumtae to respond and heard his phone beep.

Geumtae sent over a heart sticker with a capitalized,

"Yes, please. Take me away from boredom."

Dongwoo chuckled to himself.

’He’s so funny.’ he thought and raised his head to look through the see-through glass.

The twins were still inside Madam Ann’s store, and he wondered if they truly had a prior engagement that just coincided with his.

Well, it didn’t matter anymore.

They could do what they wanted and he would do what he wanted.

Dongwoo walked a few blocks away from Madam Ann’s shop vicinity before flagging a cab.

Just before he entered, he got a message from Geumtae with the address of the restaurant he would like them to eat at.

"Goldstone, please." Dongwoo said to the driver as he closed the door.

The driver nodded and turned on the engine.

Dongwoo rested his back and sighed, trying to give himself relief from the tension he had been feeling, but it was still there.

Like a bolder pressing against his heart, the discomfort of not seeing or talking to the twins pushed him down.

’Why am I like this?’ he asked himself and brought out his wallet. ’I spent years without seeing them and all I did was stare at their picture.’

He took out the little picture in his wallet. It was the same but the feeling he got from staring at it was different. It was like staring at a regular picture.

Though he was still happy that he had what was left of them from childhood, it was not the kind of happiness he was seeking.

He took out his camera from his bag and browsed through the pictures he took of them and just like the way he felt from staring at their childhood picture, he didn’t feel content.

’I want to see them.’ the thought slipped through his mind and his eyes widened. He dropped his camera and shook his head frantically, trying to get the thoughts out of his head.

The driver had to look through the rearview mirror to make sure he was okay.

’No, I can’t be having such thoughts.’ he slapped his cheeks. ’I don’t want to see them. I don’t need to see them. Distance is what I need and distance is what I’ll endure.’

"You okay, son?" The driver asked and Dongwoo snapped out of it, quickly remembering he wasn’t the only one there.

"Ah, yes. My apologies." He said, bowing his head in shame.

"The economy is in shambles right now." The driver said, glancing at him from the rearview mirror and then shifting his gaze back to the road. "You look like you work very hard for your career but at the end of the day, have nothing tangible to show forth because of the system. But don’t beat yourself up too much. There are people who care for you so try to look up to them when things get harsh."

The driver spoke like he knew Dongwoo’s situation but Dongwoo guessed he was simply the sympathetic type that would say the same to any passenger that looked ’not alright’ since most of what he said was wrong about him.

He wasn’t beating himself up because of the economy or his job. If it had been in the past, yes, but at that moment, his actions simply had to do with two hot guys that he was trying to get away from.

"Um, thank you for your words, sir."

He still thanked him though. Kind words should still be respected, no matter the content.

"We’ve arrived." The driver announced and Dongwoo came down from the car after paying the fare.

"Thank you." He smiled.
