Chapter 327: Don’t call my Hyung
"I need your help, Dongwoo!"
Dongwoo watched Sungho, his expression looking quite amused. To think Sungho could be such a shy boy.
Was this his first time trying to win a person’s heart?
Well, it might be. After all, he just needed to smile to win a person’s heart and make them flock to his side. He wondered if he needed this much effort to win his girlfriend in the past. The girl that almost made him commit suicide at the beginning.
Hmm, they started dating before he became a celebrity, so he probably needed minimal effort.
Yet with Minwoo, he needed to force words out; his head steamed like a boiling kettle and his face turned red like a tomato.
He was cute.
Hmm, it made him wonder. Was this the type Minwoo liked? His brother had a thing for pretty cute things, huh?
They got together after they had a mistaken one-night stand together. They probably started using each other for their own needs, and so maybe he started having feelings along the line.
He was sure Minwoo felt the same. If he thought back at their encounters then they were far from pillow buddies.
If he confessed to Minwoo now, he would definitely accept his confession.
"I’m sorry, Sungho." Dongwoo said. "But I’m not really a love expert and just like you, there’s a lot of things about my brother that I don’t know about."
Sungho bowed his head, feeling disappointed.
"But..." Dongwoo’s interjection caused him to raise his head in hope. "I’m very sure Minwoo feels the same way you do. So, I advise you to just take the step and confess. Or you could just go to a love counselor," he smiled awkwardly. "Sorry."
Sungho lowered his head. Ah, so this was how it was. He had little to no confidence about confessing out of the blue. Especially at a time like this when Minwoo was going out at night.
"Sungho," Dongwoo called but Sungho shook his head and said,
"It’s alright." He got up and smiled faintly. "I’ll think of something. And you’re right. We both don’t know Minwoo that well. So, let’s work hard to get to know him better. To understand him."
Minwoo closed his eyes and walked away. He did not leave and stayed at the door. He wanted to trust Sungho but he was still curious why he would come to Dongwoo, so he returned and stuck to the door.
’Sungho likes me.’ he thought, his head down as he walked slowly towards his office. ’He wants to confess. He... likes me despite knowing how I am. The kind of person I was and...’ he slowed his steps even more, pursing his lips.
He felt excited hearing Sungho say he wanted to win his heart, and the feeling of relief and appreciation he felt when he heard Sungho cover for him, what he had done the previous night disappeared.
But that excitement soon faded as he remembered their situation.
’I... I can’t let him confess. Not right now, at least. I hope he doesn’t.’ he rubbed his arm anxiously.
If Sungho were to confess, Minwoo would certainly accept his confession. But that was the problem. How could he accept his confession when he knew he would be going out at night to be a boy toy for Alejandro?
It was chaotic; his heart.
He didn’t want to be a cheater in their relationship and even if Sungho understood that he had no choice and wanted to be an understanding boyfriend, it didn’t mean that he wasn’t uncomfortable with it.
Letting his boyfriend go out in the middle of the night to serve someone else... Just how could he put up with it?
He didn’t want him to put up with it.
Right now, he was using the guide of them having nothing more than a fuck buddy relationship to keep his heart stable and carry on with Alejandro. But... It was still painful.
"Minwoo-nim," Doha called and Minwoo raised his head, snapping out of his thoughts. "Where have you been, Oppa? The twins needed a breakdown on their-" she paused, seeing Minwoo’s face. "Did... Did something happen?"
"What do you mean?" Minwoo asked and she stepped closer.
"Your face... There’s tears." She answered and Minwoo’s eyes widened.
He immediately touched his face and truly, it was wet. Was it his sweat? He couldn’t really tell that he cried. Why would he even cry? This must’ve been his sweat, but... He wasn’t feeling hot.
"Why were you crying?" She asked, looking at him concerned but he shook his head, denying it immediately.
"I wasn’t." He said. "I don’t even know how this got on my face. I have no reason to... No reason to..." He looked at his hand, it was shaking.
His heart was aching and he felt so much like crying. There was no reason, so why?
Tears flowed down his cheeks and he covered his face.
"I’m sorry. You shouldn’t see this embarrassing side of me. I don’t know what I... Ngh!" He cried, and a stunned Doha, seeing Minwoo cry for the first time, patted his back.
"It’s alright." She said. "Head back to your office first. I’ll tell the twins that something came up."
Minwoo nodded, sniffing in.
"Should I get... Dongwoo Hyung?" She asked but he immediately shook his head.
"No, please don’t. I’m fine. I must’ve just gotten something in my eyes and..." He shook his head. "Don’t call my Hyung. Don’t. Please, just keep this between us."
Doha looked worriedly at his desperate expression. And she wondered, ’Why was he crying? What broke his professionalism that he would cry in front of her? Why doesn’t he want her to get Dongwoo? Was it a sibling’s quarrel?’
"Did you find Manager Minwoo?" Dooshik asked, walking up to Doha who was still staring in the distance after Minwoo had walked away.
"Uh, yeah. I did but... He’s kinda busy, so let’s do a little raincheck on the schedule." She said, and Dooshik nodded, having no idea of what had just transpired.
"Then, let’s go." He said and she nodded.
"Uh, Dooshik, have you ever... You know, fought with your siblings?" Doha asked.
"Ha! We fight every time. Why?"
"I’m not talking about those petty fights. Like... You fought with them over a big misunderstanding, or you made a mistake, and it made you... Cry." She asked, explaining further. "You even cry without knowing it because you didn’t know it hurt so much to see them mad at you. Has that ever happened to you?"
"Hm, not really." Dooshik answered but then noticed her question was way too specific. "Doha, where did that come from? You don’t even have any siblings, so who did you fight with?"
"Of course, it’s not me, dummy." She smacked his back. "And I didn’t say it happened to anyone either. I just..." She glanced back at the distance. "...wonder if such a thing could bring a person to tears subconsciously." She remembered the painful look in his eyes as he tried to hide his face, frantically cleaning the tears that refused to stop falling.
He looked so fragile, breaking out of that professionalism and showing his vulnerable side.
"Hm, that could happen with anyone besides a sibling." Dooshik said. "Like, if one fought with their lover for example." He mentioned and Doha blinked.
Ah, why didn’t she think of that?
She just assumed that it was with Dongwoo since he was coming from that direction and...
But did Minwoo have a lover?
Just then, Doha thought of something. What if Minwoo was gay, just like Dongwoo? Then, was the person he was dating among them as well?
At that moment, Sungho walked past them. He flashed a small and subtle smile before walking on.
She blinked and watched him walk away. It couldn’t have been him, right?
"You know, if we got into a fight and I hurt you by accident. I would certainly cry for your sake." Dooshik suddenly said, causing Doha to turn abruptly to him.
"Really?" She asked, surprised and he blushed.
"Yeah."
"Then, can we fight right now?" She took a step towards him and he retreated.
"What... What are you talking about?" He stuttered feeling a bit flustered. What was she implying?
"You know, I always wanted to see how you looked with tears rolling down your cute face." She said, daringly and he got to the wall. She dropped her hand on it, pinning him to that position and grinning. "You’ve seen mine, so it’s only fair that I see yours as well."
"Is that why you want to see me cry?" He asked and she, with her grin, leaned in, planning to kiss him.
"So, Dooshik, why don’t I come over tonight?" She asked and before he could give a response, Taiha called out loudly and in a lazy tone.
"Hey, love birds." They flinched. "The studio isn’t a place for you to make out."
They immediately started bowing and apologizing.
"Dooshik, don’t ruin my niece." He added, making Dooshik embarrassed. "Anyway, if you’re free, go grab some supplies from the supply room." He said, and they both rushed away. "Jeez, kids these days. I wonder who they take after." He exclaimed while walking away.
Dooshik and Doha went to the supply room. But as soon as they opened it, they found Eunkyung and Yaeran making out.
Doha’s mouth fell, and Dooshik turned his head away, dropping his hand on his head.
As soon as Eunkyung saw them, she pulled away right away, and Yaeran turned around, probably trying to hide her face, but it was not like they hadn’t already seen them.
Dooshik sighed and said,
"I feel like I’m seeing a bunch of things this period. Why do I have to know all these secrets?"
