Chapter 314: Maybe he let out too many hints

Minwoo cleared his throat and looked away,

"Sungho, there was no need for all that plenty talk." He said. "I was asking if you would forgive me. It could be because of a mistake or that I had no choice, you would never know."

"Oh." Sungho’s face heated up. What did he just do? He went on to rant his feelings like that without understanding the nature of his question. "I... I... I was just..."

Minwoo reached his hand towards his head and pulled him down to kiss his forehead.

"Do you want to summarize your words now?" He asked and a flushed Sungho nodded. He looked into Minwoo’s eyes and said,

"I want to be with you, Minwoo." Minwoo’s heart thumped. Not painfully but with a certain hardness. He knew he was the one that asked, but hearing that was almost like hearing him say, ’I like you’. If he said that then his heart would surely explode.

"Sungho, I want to be with you too." Minwoo said making Sungho elated, till he added, "But..." He looked away sadly. "...I don’t even know what to say now. Just know that some things may lead to other things and I might have to ’cheat’. If I do, will you forgive me? That is all I want to know."

Sungho stared at him, searching his face for a possible hint of what the answer should be.

"For the record, I don’t want you to forgive me." Minwoo suddenly added.

"Why?" Sungho asked, confused. "Isn’t the whole point of this because you don’t want me to hate you?"

"I don’t want you to hate me either." He shrugged and let go of his head. "But I shouldn’t go scot-free when I did what I did with my two eyes open. So, if you say you won’t forgive me. I’ll have to do all I can to make it up to you."

"But will that do anything?" Sungho asked.

"What?"

"You’ll still do what you want to do. So, even if I forgive you or resent you, you’ll still go ahead and follow your head. What’s the point of trying to make it up to me?"

"Because it’s a mistake." Minwoo stated. "What I may or may not do is a mistake on my path. And I want you to know I had no other choice. I..." He rolled his eyes down, sadly and muttered, "I wasn’t exactly given a choice either."

Sungho’s eyes widened and he placed his hands on Minwoo’s shoulders,

"Is someone threatening you?" He caught on right away.

"No, there’s no one." He pushed Sungho’s hand down from his shoulder. "It’s something I want to do."

"You just said you weren’t given a choice. Minwoo, are you being threatened?" Now, he sounded forceful, like he was almost too certain that someone was threatening him.

Minwoo fell silent. Maybe he let out too many hints.

But... He just didn’t want a situation where Sungho would find out he was doing such a thing with Alejandro, and then he would look at him with eyes filled with disdain, disgust, and hate.

Sungho was the first person he was ever stable with, even when their relationship was on commitment alone and nothing else, both having mutual benefits.

And he was also the first person his heart actually beat for, romantically. But he would surely put his brother before him, and that was why he was going this far, even if his decision may hurt him.

In fact, if you looked at it from a certain angle, this was for the good of all of them.

Alejandro was dangerous. He was the kind of capable mafia who could lay his hands on them and leave no traces.

Sungho felt this kiss was rather bittersweet and he asked as they both tore away softly,

"Are you really not breaking up with me?"

Minwoo swiped his hair back, staring at his lovely face, and smiled,

"Don’t you think I should be the one asking that?" He asked. "Cause it seems like I’m the one who’s breaking out of our commitment in this relationship."

"If you have no choice, then it’s different." Sungho said. "Whatever the reason is, and I know you won’t tell me, just promise me that you’ll be safe." He looked worried.

"I will be."

Sungho was doing a lot by convincing his heart I be okay with whatever Minwoo did. He may not even know when he decides to cheat but if he did, he wouldn’t hate him. His heart would ache but he was in no place to demand that Minwoo sleep with only him.

He would not hate him but would simply hold him tighter.

Whatever the reason was, he would not pry. But he wished that he would remain safe, and that he wasn’t getting involved in any shady business.

Ah, this made him realize that he didn’t really know much about Minwoo. He knew he had been a sexually indulgent youth, grabbing the nearest and prettiest guy to fuck him, and that it was because he felt so much stress in life and was pained.

But that aside, he knew nothing more. Was it because he held no interest in him all along, aside from his body? No, it was because they gave each other terms like, ’Do not pry in the other party’s business’.

He sighed.

"Minwoo," he called, and Minwoo stopped stroking his hair. "Now that you’re getting therapy, do you think your stress level will reduce? You won’t try to use sex to feel better, right?"

"Hm, I guess so."

"Then, when that happens," he started, interlocking their fingers together, both hands. "...when all this hassle is over." He kissed the back of his hands. "When there are no more threats, can we... Start over?"

Minwoo looked into his eyes, surprised. He wanted to... Start over? As in, start over as lovers or what? He had no idea but he liked the sound of that.

He smiled sweetly and nodded.

"Hm, I’d like that." He said and Sungho kissed his lips.

Starting over was a nice sound. If all this was over and they didn’t have to worry about someone dying from a flying bullet that came out of nowhere, then he would definitely start over with Sungho.
