Chapter 274: I was saving it for you
Chapter 274: I was saving it for you
In the ward, Dongwoo finally calmed down and Seojun gave him the sleeve of his coat to blow his nose.
"I can’t do that." Dongwoo said.
"Why not? You need to blow your nose." Seojun said but Dongwoo shook his head. "I’ll wash it so don’t worry."
"Still no." Dongwoo was adamant.
"That’s what you get for now carrying a handkerchief along with you." Minwoo said as he walked in. He took out the handkerchief from his coat pocket and gave it to Dongwoo. "Here, use this." He smiled.
"Thank you." Dongwoo said as he took it from him. He blew his nose and said to Seojun, "I can’t use your expensive coat of 5000 dollars to blow my nose." He said, to Seojun’s surprise.
"How did you know the price?" He asked.
"I told him." Seojin answered, smiling and Seojun shot daggers at him. "But don’t get me wrong, I wasn’t trying to sabotage your efforts. Hyung simply walked up to me one day and asked how much your coats were. I gave him the price of all of them. I didn’t know he would use that knowledge like this." He laughed.
"So, it’s about the price," Seojun said and looked at the handkerchief. "Then you probably shouldn’t use that handkerchief to blow your nose either."
"Why?" Dongwoo answered and Minwoo cleared his throat, looking aside.
"He already used it. There’s no point in you telling him." Minwoo said, but that just got Dongwoo even more curious.
"No, don’t stop. Tell me why." He said.
"It’s because that handkerchief cost nearly as much as Seojun’s coat." Seojin answered and they both looked at him. Who asked him to talk, busybody?
Dongwoo looked at the handkerchief in disbelief and then looked up at Minwoo who was still trying to avoid eye contact.
"It’s of the highest quality." He said. "And I..." He blushed. "I was saving it for you."
"Liar." Seojun said, folding his arms.
"What’s your deal on this?" Minwoo asked, placing his hand on his waist. "I bought it and saved it for him, how does that make me a liar?"
"You carry it along with you every time. How can you say you bought it for Hyung?" Seojun argued.
"Of course, I would carry it everywhere with me. Who knows when ’Hyung’ would need it? I just like to be prepared." Minwoo argued back.
"So, if you needed a handkerchief, you wouldn’t use it?" He sneered at him.
"Oh, haha, want to see a funny trick?" Minwoo tucked his hand in his coat pocket and brought out another handkerchief. "What’s this? A completely ordinary handkerchief just appeared in my coat pocket out of nowhere. Wherever did it come from?"
He had this cheeky and mocking grin on his lips as he said those words.
"Yeah, I carry my own just as much as I carry my brother’s own." Minwoo concluded and declared himself the winner of that argument. "What? You mad that you lost? You mad, huh? Well, you should be. Hmph!"
"Pft!" Dongwoo stifled a laugh and they all turned to him. "I’m sorry, you guys were just so funny." He said and succeeded in letting the laugh out. "I can’t even focus on being mad that Minwoo got me a five thousand dollar handkerchief to blow my nose."
"No, Hyung, focus." Seojun said, "You have to be mad at him. He’s a wasteful spender." He said, and Minwoo’s mouth fell in shock.
"Why, you..."
Seojun grinned.
"Now the tides have turned." He said and this prompted Dongwoo to laugh more.
What in the world were they doing?
When did they become so childish with their interactions?
He could’ve sworn Seojun wanted to rip Minwoo apart, and same with Minwoo, but why did it look like a childish argument all of a sudden?
"You two seem to be getting along quite well." Seojin said, trying to act as the pacemaker but they both turned their frustration to him. "Spoke too soon?"
Dongwoo laughed even more.
Why was it so funny? Gosh, why was he laughing so much?
(You know, sad and depressed people tend to align quite a lot. So, in this context, I added that Dongwoo laughed so hard without knowing why because he was scared in his heart and he was subconsciously trying to hide whatever sadness he was feeling with his laugh. It’s sad, I know)
"Well, at least he’s laughing." Minwoo said and sighed.
"Where did the doctor go." Seojin asked.
"Oh, he walked out for a while and said he’d come back in a few minutes." Minwoo answered.
"Okay, so we have time." Seojin said and turned to Dongwoo. "Hyung, shall we start the game?"
Dongwoo nodded.
"Alright," Seojin also nodded but honestly, he didn’t know where to start.
(Neither did I.)
He knew he wasn’t supposed to ask about Shinwoo so how was he going to ask the question?
"Let me start." Seojun said and Seojin looked at him intently, hoping he filtered his words properly before asking anything. "Hyung," He took Dongwoo’s hand. "Are you troubled as of late?" He asked and Dongwoo flinched.
Seojun noticed the flinch and looked at his hand. It wasn’t trembling, thankfully.
Dongwoo took a moment before answering. He pursed his lips, gulped, and then nodded.
"Is it by a person?" He asked and felt Dongwoo flinch once more. He looked at his hand and this time, there were slight trembles coming from him.
Dongwoo nodded.
Seojun interlocked their fingers, hoping it would reassure him.
"Is it a man or a female? Nod once if it’s a man and nod twice if it’s a female." He asked, and Dongwoo nodded once.
Minwoo watched the process. He thought of it before but they were so patient and loving towards Dongwoo. Gosh, he was so lucky.
"Hyung, did you meet that person today? Just before you fainted? Was he the reason you became like this?" He asked three questions in a row, and Dongwoo started trembling. It was subtle but clear.
Dongwoo once again nodded, but not just once; he nodded three times, indicating that all three were yes. There was cold sweat dripping down from his forehead and Seojin wiped it with his palm.
Dongwoo looked up at him and then towards Minwoo before stopping at Seojun who was looking rather cold.
He was thinking about how he could’ve let such a thing slip under his nose.
"Hyung, how would you like me to get rid of him?" He suddenly asked, drawing closer to Dongwoo and gradually revealing his dark side. "Should I run him over with a truck or bury bullets in his skull?" He asked, and Dongwoo’s eyes widened. He was gonna do what? "Anyone you choose will be fine by me. But let’s go with the most gruesome one, what do you think?"
Just what in the world was he talking about?
