Chapter 270: Glad you can recognize me just from my voice

Everything went down from there.

Song Haijin felt awfully humiliated and called her manager. While everything was going on, Minwoo decided to take Dongwoo, the real victim, to his office and let him stay there while he dealt with the issue.

Dongwoo, in his office, applied ice to his face. Jaeho was with him while Eunwoo stayed outside to watch what was going on and keep them updated later.

"I can’t believe she hit you." Jaeho said as he helped Dongwoo apply the ice to his face.

His face was bright red and throbbing too.

"I’ve seen a lot of crazies but this is messed up." He added and Dongwoo dropped his hand.

"I didn’t expect her to do such a thing either. She stooped rather low this time." He said and applied the ice himself. "It hurts."

"Wait, I think there’s a finger scratch on your face as well." Jaeho said and touched the scratch.

Dongwoo flinched and Jaeho nodded.

"Yup, there’s a scratch. Hold on. I’ll find a few band-aids to cover it up." He said and walked out.

Dongwoo dropped the ice pack and sighed.

He really didn’t expect Song Haijin to go that far.

The spill on her dress was not an excuse for her to suddenly slap him. Not only was he older than her. He was also the one in charge of their pictures.

If he decided to edit her pictures however he liked and show the world a hideous side of her, there was nothing she could do.

He sighed once more and patted his face with the ice pack.

’They saw.’ Dongwoo thought, referring to the twins.

They saw him get humiliated once more but he was glad they did not act out. They stuck to their promise.

’I guess we’re all growing.’ He thought. ’Ah, speaking of band-aids, I think I have some in my drawer. He might not find any, so let me look for the one in my drawer.’

He placed down the ice pack and went to his desk.

Instead of turning, he decided to stretch and take it out. While he was doing so, he heard his door open.

"Jaeho, I think I have some band-aids here." He said. "I’ll get it out, just give me a sec."

But then he felt a hand caress his arm.

He flinched and was about to turn around when the person hugged him from behind and whispered,

"It’s been so long, Dongwoo." He said, and Dongwoo’s eyes widened.

His body stiffened up and Dongwoo’s pupils started shaking.

"Shi-Shinwoo," he called, just barely getting the words out through his lips.

"Glad you can recognize me just from my voice." He whispered, trailing his fingers up Dongwoo’s hand and sending shivers. Eerie shivers. "So, how has life without me been treating you?"

Dongwoo could not respond.

Why was Shinwoo in his office? What did he want?

"By the looks of it, it’s treating you very well. You’ve got a big job, got some big stars under your wings," he said and then whispered in an angry tone, "under your sheets."

"What do... What do you want, Shinwoo?" Dongwoo asked.

"Well, after you did that to me, I went to find you, to thank you for making me see that my actions were wrong all along." He added and then stroked Dongwoo’s hair. "You know, staying in jail for two days before getting bailed out got me thinking a lot." He grabbed Dongwoo’s hair and pulled his head back. "Do you know what I was thinking about? Can you guess?"

Dongwoo was scared. His hands trembled but he clenched them. What was he going to do at a time like this?

His body wouldn’t move the way he wanted it to. He was frozen, and it was because the person standing behind him, clutching him and dragging his hair, was one of the people who gave him sleepless nights and caused him to cry himself to sleep, thinking, what did he do wrong?

Tears gathered in Dongwoo’s eyes as Shinwoo tightened the grip on his hair.

"Answer me, Dongwoo. Do you know what I spent those two days thinking about?" He became forceful and Dongwoo managed to shake his head.

"No, no. No, I don’t. I don’t know." Dongwoo answered.

"Haha, of course you wouldn’t." He said and bent Dongwoo’s body down on the desk. "But what I was thinking was pretty simple. I wasn’t mad at you or anything. I was just..." He stared at Dongwoo’s ass and grinned. "...regretful."

Then, someone tried to open Dongwoo’s door from outside but noticed the door was locked.

"Huh, why’s the door locked?" It was Jaeho, probably back with the band-aid.

Shinwoo stared at the door and laughed silently.

"It seems our little reunion has to end here." He said and let go of Dongwoo. "But don’t worry, I’ll fix a date and we can catch up all we want."

He adjusted his shirt and then pulled Dongwoo into his arms.

Dongwoo had nothing but hate and fear in his teary eyes.

"Oh, don’t look at me like that. You know, I should be the one filled with hatred right now." He caressed Dongwoo’s face. "Not you. So, lighten up." He patted his cheeks and then let go.

He walked towards the door and opened it.

Jaeho was in front of the door, about to call Dongwoo’s line and ask if he left already when he saw Shinwoo open the door and walk out with a smile.

"Hi there." He said and Jaeho frowned.

"What were you doing in there?" He asked.

"Well, I simply came to apologize for what my artiste did." He said, still smiling and acting friendly but Jaeho wasn’t convinced.

"With the door locked?" He asked but Shinwoo simply shrugged and put his hands in his pocket.

"Some ’sincere’ apology shouldn’t be interrupted carelessly." He said and walked away, his shoulder brushing against Jaeho’s in the process.

Jaeho was a bit skeptical and wondered if he came to make trouble. He decided to ask Dongwoo but when he looked inside the office, he found Dongwoo curled up on the floor, hugging his knees and shaking.

"Boss, what’s wrong?" He hurried to him, but Dongwoo’s pupils were dilated, and he wouldn’t stop shaking like he had seen a ghost. "What happened? Did he do this to you? Please, say something."

"...woo." Dongwoo muttered but it wasn’t clear enough for Jaeho to hear.

"Please, speak louder." He said, bringing his ear closer to hear properly.

"Find me...someone." Dongwoo said as tears began streaming down his cheeks. "Minwoo, Seojin, anyone. Just find one of them. I... I need someone. Please, I..." his lips quivered and he dug his fingers in his arms, gripping aggressively. "I’m scared."
