Chapter 220: She was Song Haijin. She was a rose
Dongwoo was close to the point of shaking in fear. He was frightened and couldn’t snap out of it. At least, not on his own.
"Hyung," Seojin called, turning him away and breaking his gaze from Shinwoo. "I’m right here." He said, and Dongwoo looked up at him, suddenly snapping out of it.
"Ah!" He looked at his hand still clutching Seojin’s shirt. He immediately let go to act like he was fine, but Seojin had already seen it all. "I..."
The door of the bunker opened and Seojun walked out. He had been waiting for a while so they could have that talk that Dongwoo deemed important, but all he was hearing while waiting patiently inside were the annoying voices of other people, taking his time.
He heard Dongwoo speak but he couldn’t tell what it was about. And since he was taking too long, he decided to come to check what was taking him so long by himself.
"Hyung," he called, seeing Dongwoo and Seojin right in front of the door. They both turned to him. "Aren’t you coming in?" He asked and Seojin dropped his hand from Dongwoo’s shoulders.
"Ah, yes. But..." Dongwoo slowly glanced toward the other party that would be infringing on their space. "... I don’t think we can have that talk. Not today at least."
"Why not?" Seojun asked, turning his head to see what Dongwoo was subtly glancing at.
He saw Song Haijin, who waved with a gleam on her face and lazily threw his face away.
’Fuck! What is that bitch doing here?’ he thought. ’Can’t she take a hint and stay away as far as possible?’
"Miss Song Haijin will be staying in the bunker for a while." Dongwoo said but Seojun wasn’t pleased with the idea.
He smiled, and Song Haijin thought he was going to welcome her with open arms but the words he let out of his mouth were contrary to his appearance.
"Why do we have to? They’re not our concern, right, Hyung? They can stay in their car or sit outside till they’re ready to leave. I believe that would be best for everyone, right?"
Those were the words the rest of the crew wished they could say so confidently, and they cleared their throats while muttering, ’Good job, Oppa.’ ’Chase the crazy witch away.’
Song Haijin’s expression was frozen in place. She tried not to break her composure but those words of rejection hit her hard. How dare he drive her away?
She was Song Haijin. She was a rose. He should be honored that she wanted to stay in the same bunker with them for a few minutes.
"Haha, I know you didn’t mean that." She said, making her way towards the entrance of the bunker. "I’m sure you tried to say something like, ’We’re lucky to have you’ or ’It’s great to meet you again’, right?"
The twins, as well as Dongwoo, stared at her. While the twins saw her as a pest, Dongwoo wondered why she was acting so desperate to get in the same bunker with them.
"Not really." Seojin answered this time around. "Haha, Miss Song, you look really tired."
"Yes, I’m so tired. I need to rest for a while." She said with the thought that Seojin was going to let her in but he threw a blow at her, just like Seojun did.
"Then, I believe you should be on your way." He said and her expression froze up once more. "The faster you hit the road, the faster you can get home and once you do, you can finally rest on your comfy bed." He waved at her. "So, run along now. We would like to chat more but we would like to rest and don’t want to be disturbed."
He flashed her a bright smile and placed his hands on Dongwoo’s shoulders, turning him towards the door.
"Come on, Hyung, we should get you back inside. You’ve exhausted yourself too much today."
"Wa-wait a minute." He said but they went dead to his words, making sure they did not stay any longer to hear any of Song Haijin’s bull talk.
If she thought they were babies that could be sweet-talked into a trap, then she had a lot more to learn.
Dongwoo felt uncomfortable about the way they were sending Song Haijin away. He glanced at her. Her eyes... He could see hatred and frustration clearly written on them and it almost gave him shivers.
It was like staring at a snake. He hated snakes.
But what gave him actual shivers was when he locked eyes with Shinwoo, causing him to look away as quickly as light.
It was just a second, but that single second that their eyes met made him shiver in fear. He could’ve sworn he saw an amused look in his eyes.
It was terrifying and he did not want to think about it. No, he never wanted to think about it. Why did he have to meet him again?
Once they closed the door, Taiha cleared his throat and said,
"Well, that’s a conclusion that I didn’t expect." He said. "Sorry, but the owners of the bunker refused to let you in, so there’s nothing I can do."
He said it with a straight face, but inside, he was commending the twins for a job well done. They took out the obstacle in such a mature manner and since it was them, Song Haijin wouldn’t be able to take it out on anyone.
"It’s fine." She adjusted her expression. "But, I’d like to know, who was that guy that follows them in?" She asked and Taiha’s eyebrow twitched. "They said they didn’t want to be disturbed so why take in an extra person?"
"That’s their photographer." He answered but it only caused Song Haijin to frown.
"Hm? A photographer? That doesn’t make sense. Why would they take their photographer in with them?"
"Yeah, I’d say," Shinwoo finally spoke up. "What’s their relationship?"
Taiha finally frowned.
"Just what are you trying to insinuate? You don’t know them yet you’re trying to come up with assumptions. So, let’s hear it. What are you trying to say?" He folded his arms.
"Haha, only that it’s not normal." Shinwoo said and glanced up with a grin. "And you’re wrong about something. I may not know the twins personally but I am well aware of who Lee Dongwoo is. In fact, I’d say I know him better than anyone here. So, my thoughts aren’t mere assumptions."
Taiha didn’t like where this was going. Things were gradually smelling trouble.
"So, what do you want me to say? Those three were right friends when they were young and Dongwoo was the one who brought them into the industry. What’s so weird about sharing space with your best friend, huh?"
He let it out straight and then turned.
"If you’re done being Sherlock Holmes, you can leave, alright? Me and my crew already have a truckload of things to care of." He said and did not even care to see them off.
People like them only carried trouble wherever they went. It was better to send them off as soon as possible.
After Taiha walked away, Song Haijin headed for her SUV and once she was in with Shinwoo, she asked right off the bat,
"Tell me, is that puny thing gay as well?"
