Chapter 217: No, Hyung, I’m scared

Taiha got on the phone. He was obviously calling the higher-ups to tell them about the situation and also complain about the other crew’s behavior, trying to get a rise on his team with filthy words as such.

They would compensate for the half-dead guy, of course. Hospital bills were all covered but he wasn’t going to sit still if they spread any fabricated rumors about what happened.

They were free to state their opinions to the public if they wanted but if they dared to make a false statement about them and accuse them, they would drag a lawsuit in.

While Taiha was taking care of that, Dongwoo was busy wrapping Seojun’s hand. His knuckles were bruised and bleeding.

Dongwoo did not say anything and bowed his head as he cleaned up the wound and bandaged it up.

"Hyung,"

"Shut up!" Dongwoo harshly scolded him. "I don’t want to hear you say anything. I won’t listen to you just as you didn’t listen to me so shut up, Seojun."

Seojun froze up, his heart clenching. He didn’t think it would hurt that much getting scolded. He... He just wanted to get back at that guy for spilling such words. Why... Why was he the one getting scolded?

Dongwoo tied the bandage and made sure it was tight enough. He was angry, mad, and sad at the same time.

"There. It’s all fixed. Now, I’m going to go out and talk to people who will actually listen to me." He said and got up, but Seojun caught his arm. "Let me go."

"Please, Hyung," Seojun called with his eyebrows furrowed in sadly.

"Let go, Seojun. I don’t want to see you right now. I..." He clenched his fists and pursed his lips.

But Seojun was adamant and hugged his waist.

"I said let go, Seojun. Won’t you listen to me this time too? Let go." Dongwoo struggled with him but So uh held on tightly.

"No, Hyung, I’m scared. I don’t want you to go out angrily like that."

"Seojun, I said I don’t want to talk to you right now so let me go. If not I might just take my anger out on you." Dongwoo stared.

"That’s fine, Hyung." Seojun said and pressed his arms tightly. He locked his arms together, frightened. "I would rather you take your anger out on me than turn your back on me. I... I don’t want to watch your back knowing you’re angry. I don’t want to let you go. Please, Hyung."

Dongwoo clenched his fists even more. He shook in anger but not just that, he was scared. So scared that he ended up shaking.

"You... You fool!" He called. "Why didn’t you stop when I asked you to stop? Why didn’t you calm down and wait for it to die down? Why...?" He finally turned his head to look at him, showing his furrowed eyebrows and teary eyes.

He bit on his lips.

"Why wouldn’t you listen?" He asked.

"Hyung," Seojun called softly. His thoughts at the moment were that Dongwoo was worried about news going around that he had been violent. "I’m sorry that I couldn’t contain my anger. But I’ll try my possible best to make sure this does not get into any news outlet. I’ll..."

"You fool!" Dongwoo yelled at him and he flinched. "Who cares about that? You got into a fight."

(Technically, it was a one-sided beating from Seojun. Ahem)

"You threw your fist first and that could land you in jail. This is Korea, he who hits first takes the blame. Don’t you get that?" He said, hoping to get it into Seojun’s thick skull.

But Seojun was still trying to understand how it was his fault when that guy was the one who started it. Yet, he could see very clearly that Dongwoo was blaming him and not the other guy. And in a very hurtful way at that.

"Even when I asked you to stop, you didn’t stop," Dongwoo continued. "You could’ve hurt yourself more badly than this. What if that other person had hit you in the eye or broke your jaw?" He yelled at him, pouring out the pain and fear he was feeling. "Seojun, you’re not a superhuman. You can get hurt as much as any other person. You..."

He bit his lips hard as the tears rolled down his cheeks.

"...I felt restless watching you beat that guy up. And I thought to myself, what if you, who started that fight, had been the one on the receiving end?" He asked and once again screamed. "What if you had gotten your face smashed in like that? And all for what?"

His eyes glazed with rage as he lashed out with angry tears rolling down steadily.

"Because you fell for some stupid provocation? Do you think I haven’t heard words like that before? Do you think those sorts of words can get to me? At the end of the day, it’s just people’s opinion about me, and there’s nothing I can do but prove them wrong with my effort. Beating up some punk worn change anything. It’ll, in fact, make it seem like you’re hiding something. Can’t you see that? Can’t you see that, Seojun? Can’t you see that?"

Seojun immediately got up and hugged him, pressing Dongwoo’s head to his chest but Dongwoo struggled.

"Let go, Seojun. Let me go. I don’t want to see you right now. I’m too angry to do so. I’m..." He couldn’t struggle anymore and just cried. "You’re such a fool. You’re a big fool."

"I know, Hyung. And I’m sorry. I’m the biggest fool. I’m the biggest fool that ever existed, so please, take it all out on me. Vent as much as you want and hit me. I... I will take it because I was a fool and still am." He closed his eyes, embracing him tightly in hopes that he could suck out the anger with his energy and maybe calm him down with the softness of his chest.

The chest he loved so much.

(Keke, that was personal)

Dongwoo’s tears flowed down and he cried loudly into Seojun’s chest.

Seojun didn’t even have the strength to defend his actions. With Dongwoo crying like that and beating his chest, he couldn’t help but take all the blame with sealed lips.

Yes, he was reckless but he had just been so angry with what was said about Dongwoo that he couldn’t contain himself.

He threw his fist first and that could cause trouble. He got into a fight. A fight that could put their reputations at risk.

A fight that could get Dongwoo in trouble.

He truly was reckless.
