Chapter 141: How to please an angry man?
"Please, keep this between us." Sungho said, and Dongwoo nodded, urging him to spill the beans already.
And with a guilty expression, he confessed,
"I think I had a one-night stand with that person outside. The one that looks exactly like you."
"Wait, what?!"
Dongwoo was beyond stunned. Minwoo? Lee Minwoo? The guy who walked in that very day, claiming to be his twin?
Dongwoo placed his hand on his head, feeling his temperature rising for some reason. Was it just him or was the room’s temperature rising?
It was hot.
He figured it might’ve been a one-night stand, considering how awkward he was, but how did it happen with Minwoo, of all people?
Wait, why Minwoo? He got that he had a one-night stand, but he wasn’t even gay. But why did he do it with someone that looked exactly like him?
’Ah, don’t tell me.’ Dongwoo’s eyes narrowed. ’I hope it’s just my imagination and nothing else.’ but he couldn’t be sure, so he asked, "Mr Sungho, why... Why did you have sex with a person that looks like me? Do you...?"
"I don’t have feelings for you." Sungho immediately denied it, getting up to his feet at a frightening level. "I was drunk, out of my mind and you- I mean, he, came on to me and... And ..." He bit his lip. "I felt I could atone for my sin to you if I did as you wanted. And that was..."
"Hah, hold on." Dongwoo said and approached him. He stood before him and asked, "Perchance, did... Did Minwoo seduce you?"
Sungho bowed his head and slowly nodded.
"And you thought it was me, so you... Gave in?"
Once again, he nodded.
He looked confused and out of wits.
’Minwoo has such a habit?’ I wondered. ’Maybe he just wanted to have fun and chose Sungho. It’s a coincidence.’
"I wanted to apologize for taking my guilt out on you and being weak to desire and having sex with you even if you were the one who initiated it. But... To think it wasn’t you all along. I... I’m ashamed. Honestly."
"It’s not your fault. People get weak to desire and more easily when their emotions are disrupted so don’t beat yourself up for it." Dongwoo consoled him. "For now, it doesn’t look like Minwoo has any plans to expose you guys did that night. For now, we’ll just watch the waters."
Sungho nodded but he still looked sad and confused.
Dongwoo knew he shouldn’t go so far with his contact with him, but he wanted to comfort him properly and reach his hand out to pat his head.
"Don’t worry about it. I won’t let your reputation go down. I’ll make sure this news never finds its way to the press, even if I have to beg Minwoo for it."
"You don’t have to do that for me." Sungho said in a sad tone. "You’re not obligated to help me. If this gets out, it’s all on me."
"Don’t say that. It won’t. And, in a way, I’m partially to blame for this, since it was my face that got you confused." He said but Sungho shook his head.
He caught Dongwoo’s hand and slowly took it off his head.
"No, you’re not at fault anywhere. It was all my decision." Sungho said. "So, if there are consequences, I’ll face them myself. Thank you for listening to me."
"No problem. You can confide in me any time you’re troubled. I’ll do my best to help."
Just then, the door opened and Seojun walked in.
Ah, of all people, at a time like this.
Seojun’s eyes fell on Sungho’s hand, holding on to Dongwoo’s hand, and his eyes narrowed. He walked towards them and slapped Sungho’s hand away.
"What do you think you’re doing?" Seojun asked.
Every time he looked at Sungho, all he saw was his neckline that he could easily snap. He hated him.
He hated a lot of people in life, and Sungho managed to make his way up to the top five. And for that, he would never give him the opportunity to her close to his Hyung.
"Seojun, I was just giving him advice." Dongwoo said.
"Hyung, I didn’t know you were a counselor." Seojun said, with a bit of sarcasm in his tone. "If he needed advice, I’m pretty sure there’s a counseling office on the last floor."
"Don’t be like that. It was an issue only I could address." Dongwoo said but Seojun was still not fazed.
"And that issue had to do with him holding your hands?"
How to please an angry man?
Seojun was already pissed as it was and seeing Sungho hold Dongwoo’s hand was the cherry on top. Given an opportunity, he’d throw his fist at him and pummel his face to the ground.
"I’m sorry." Sungho apologized. "That was rash of me. I shouldn’t have grabbed his hand."
Dongwoo looked at Sungho with mixed expression. What to do at this point? If he tried to defend Sungho, Seojun would get more mad.
Luckily, that situation broke down when Taiha walked in and said,
"If you guys don’t come out already, we’re going to head out first." He said and saw the situation in front of them. ’Ah, it’s like a cold war. What happened this time around? It’s like there’s never a day where this guy doesn’t get pumped up for the kiddo’s sake.’
’Thank goodness. My angel.’ Dongwoo thought with invisible tears of relief. "You hear that, Seojun? Let’s get going." He said, pushing Seojun towards the door. "Let’s go find Seojin and meet up with the rest."
"Oh, kiddo, the twins have to take the endorsement contracts and read through them. They had to pick the deals they want to partake in for the next few days first so they have to be snappy about it."
He instructed Dongwoo like he was their nanny. Everyone knows that the twins listen to Dongwoo better than anyone, so if he told them to seriously look through the endorsement deals by the morning and make a pick, they would do just that.
Dongwoo nodded and said,
"I will. We’ll get going now. See you at the BBQ place."
"Ah, we might be a little late." Seojun suddenly said and they all looked at him, confused. What did that mean? "Hyung and I need to branch somewhere so you guys can start without us."
A confused and lost Dongwoo decided to ask,
"Where are we...?" But Seojun immediately cut him short and said,
"We’ll make sure to seriously look through the contracts so don’t worry. Let’s go, Hyung."
"Wait, where ...?"
Seojun made sure he didn’t get to ask his question and led him away from the rest.
Minwoo watched from a corner and then glanced at Dongwoo’s office. He remembered meeting Sungho that Friday, it was a rather hot night. He suspected that he might’ve known Dongwoo for him to talk about mistakes and all but... He never expected him to be close to him.
’Ah, I hope this does not ruin my image in my brother’s mind.’
That night... That Friday night... Shall we visit back and see exactly what happened between Sungho and Minwoo?
