Chapter 140: I guess there’s always a flaw in perfect people

Dongwoo turned to Minwoo after staring at the door for a while. Then, he called out,

"Hey, Lee Minwoo?"

Minwoo raised his head with a start.

"Yes? What can I help you with?"

"You don’t have to speak so respectfully to me. You’re not my assistant. You can be formal but not like that." Dongwoo said and Minwoo nodded. "Anyway, the twins may be like that but they’re actually really sweet and nice." He smiled. "They’re just on edge right now. So, please don’t take it to heart."

"I... I don’t mind." Minwoo answered, suddenly blushing. He slowly lowered his head and said, "No matter how they treat me, I’ll take it. As long as I can be here, I’ll endure anything and stay by your... I mean, their side."

Anyone could tell what he was after.

’So, he’s that bent on sticking close to me, huh? Well, as long as he doesn’t have eyes on the twins and doesn’t try to persuade me to accept him as his brother, I’m okay with it.’ Dongwoo thought and subconsciously smiled. ’In a way, it’s kinda amusing, having someone look like me.’

Minwoo stared at the smile on Dongwoo’s face and blinked in disbelief. He didn’t think he would see him smile. It was... It was beautiful.

But then, it broke his heart more and he squeezed his thumb in his fist.

There were so many things he didn’t know about Dongwoo. So many experiences they could’ve shared but were never able to share. So many moments.

They were so close and so happy, yet... They were only four then. It wasn’t fair.

"Minwoo, are you okay?" Dongwoo asked and Minwoo snapped out of his thoughts. He raised his head and nodded.

"Yes. Yes, I’m fine. What was that?"

"I said, if you need a place of your own, I could talk to Taiha Sunbae to open up one of the empty offices for you." Dongwoo suggested.

"Wow, that would be nice. Thank you." Minwoo said but felt a sting. He hoped he could share a space with Dongwoo, even if it was just for a few days.

But it looked like it would inconvenience him, and he didn’t want that, so this was okay.

Dongwoo was loved by everyone in the crew. He didn’t know how but it looked like he worked the hardest around, doing his best to make the best of his efforts. And then, his thoughts slipped out through his lips in a whisper,

"How are you so strong?"

"What was that?" Dongwoo asked but Minwoo shook his head, pushed up the rim of his glasses, and said,

"It’s nothing."

Dongwoo turned around. He heard it clearly but didn’t dare to answer such a question.

The hand holding onto his jacket trembled. The look in Minwoo’s eyes... He bit his bottom lip. No, he didn’t have to think of it. It wasn’t his concern. Minwoo was not his concern.

’I... I’m not strong.’ Dongwoo thought, clutching his trembling hand. ’And because of that, I want to get you as far away from me as possible. I can’t bear to look at you, Minwoo. I’ll break down again.’

He walked out of the office and stood at the door.

"It’s time for us to leave. Aren’t you coming?" He asked and Minwoo snapped.

"Oh, right. Yes. Yes, I’m coming."

Dongwoo watched him and closed his eyes.

The first thing he thought when he saw Minwoo was that he looked the complete opposite of him.

He looked smart, brilliant, and confident in what he was good at. He was the perfect version of him.

But now, he couldn’t help but notice Minwoo was clumsy in more ways than one. He had that brilliant conviction, but when talking to him, he lost himself, got excited, and started talking more than he should.

’I guess there’s always a flaw in perfect people.’ he thought. ’But...’ He glanced at him. ’Does he only get excited when it’s me?’

"Dongwoo-nim," Dongwoo heard Sungho’s voice and turned around. "I stepped out for a while and then when I got back, I heard you..." He paused with widened eyes.

"You heard that what?" Dongwoo asked and then traced Sungho’s eyesight. It stopped at Minwoo who equally stood, speechless at the sight of Sungho. "Ah, this might come off as a surprise. This is Lee Minwoo."

"You... You have a twin?" Sungho asked in utter disbelief.

"Well, not exactly but we do look alike."

"Look alike? I can’t even tell the difference." Sungho said and then realized something. "Can’t ...tell the difference." He was stunned. "Those glasses."

I was confused. What was going on with Sungho? Was he that shocked?

Minwoo looked a bit awkward as he adjusted his glasses while glancing away.

It was suspicious. It was almost as if he was avoiding eye contact with Sungho.

"Can... Can I talk to you for a minute?" Sungho asked, attempting to grab my hand but paused. He didn’t want to repeat his forceful nature and added, "Please?"

"Well, sure. Let’s... Let’s talk in my office." I said and Sungho walked in right away.

"Minwoo, I’ll go in and talk with Mr Sungho for a while. You go on ahead." Dongwoo said and walked in without waiting for a response from Minwoo.

As soon as he closed the door, he turned to find Sungho anxiously staring at him.

"I came to apologize earlier, remember?"

"Yes, but you could not apologize because I got dragged to the studio." Dongwoo said. "Is this about that incident? If it is, you don’t have to apologize, I completely understand."

"I wanted to apologize for two things." He said. "One was for that incident and the other was what I did on Friday night."

"Friday night? You mean the anniversary party? What did you do? And what... What does that have to do with me? I don’t believe we met that night, although I did catch a glimpse of you. But that was it."

Hearing that, Sungho’s face went pale. He fell on the couch and pressed his hand on his forehead.

"What’s wrong? You look stressed."

"Hah! I don’t know anymore. I kinda hoped it wasn’t you and that it was all in my head, but knowing that it might be, you were way better than this outcome. How did I make such a dumb mistake?"

I was confused.

"Mr Sungho, I... I can’t read your mind." Dongwoo said. "If you don’t talk, I can’t help you."

Sungho sat up, looking at Dongwoo with confusion written all over his face.

"Where were you Friday night, Hyung? I need to know if it was you or that person outside."

Dongwoo pursed his lips. What was he on about? Did he have a one night stand or something?

’If I tell him I was with the twins, he won’t ask what we were doing, right? Most people would already guess that the twins and I were together that night but wouldn’t know what we were on about.’ he thought and sighed. "I was with the twins."

"Ah, it wasn’t you after all."

"Mr Sungho, if you’re not going to talk, I’ll leave." Dongwoo threatened.

If he was going to confide in him. He at least had to be snappy about it. Things wouldn’t end well if the twins found them together and ’alone’.

"Please, keep this between us." Sungho said, and Dongwoo nodded, urging him to spill the beans already.

And with a guilty expression, he confessed,

"I think I had a one-night stand with that person outside. The one that looks exactly like you."

"Wait, what?!"
