Chapter 126: A crazy advertisement that even I couldn’t understand
Chapter 126: A crazy advertisement that even I couldn’t understand
"I came to apologize to you." Sungho said, and though, as surprised as I was, I found it commendable.
I stared at his face. Though it was rather red because of his flustered state, it looked like he healed up properly.
’Glad there’s no scar.’
I also saw him at the anniversary party, so I could say he was in tip-top shape. Now, as for his apology, I just needed to tell him my mind.
But before I could respond to his apology, Doha walked up from behind and interrupted us.
"What are you guys doing here? We’re already late." She said and grabbed me by the arm. "Looking good, Dongwoo Oppa. You look like you enjoyed the weekend."
"O-Oppa?" I looked at her, embarrassed.
When did she start calling me that? She smiled sheepishly and started leading me towards the studio.
"You too, Sungho. We need to go right away."
Sungho nodded and clenched his fists mustering up courage. I stared at him over my shoulder. He was acting strange but I couldnt pinpoint what it was.
Maybe it was because he really meant his apology that he was so flustered. Well, he would have to wait for a while before he could hear my response.
If an apology was said genuinely, was there a reason not to accept it? Besides, he already admitted to his wrongdoing.
"Let’s go, Mr Sungho." I said and he raised his head, surprised. I smiled at him. "Everyone’s waiting."
He flushed and nodded slowly. Haha, he must’ve been surprised.
Well, from a normal person’s point of view, it would only seem normal if I were to avoid Sungho with all my strength. After what he did, which most people misunderstood as a rape attempt, they would all expect me to stay away from him but it was a mistake.
One mistake that he regretted and was apologetic about, so I would not hold it against him.
We walked into the studio to find everyone chatting around cheerfully in one space, waiting for whatever announcement there was to be made.
As soon as we walked in, Doha announced our presence by yelling,
"The star of the show has arrived, everyone. Let’s all give him a round of applause."
I was speechless, honestly. What star of the show? Was she seriously joking at a time like that? We were there for a meeting.
But then, they all started clapping. I was shocked.
I thought she was simply joking but they really clapped. They were clapping for me. Me?
My eyes fell on the twins at the corner, with Taiha.
"Ah, it took you long enough." Taiha said and I walked up to them.
"What... What’s going on?" I asked.
"First, my coffee." He said and I remembered his coffee was still in my hand.
"Ah, here. It’s here." I said, handing it over to him.
He took a long sip from it and smacked his lips.
"Can’t you tell, kiddo? We’re celebrating your success." He said but I was still confused.
"My... Success?" I blinked and looked at the twins. Did they know what was going on?
"Of course." Taiha wrapped his arm around my neck. "The shoot was a success. Endorsement deals are flooding in, and articles about them are flooding the showbiz channels. This month’s issue also has them in it. I can tell the company put in a lot of effort but... You made the twins famous, kiddo. Be proud." He said.
’Ah, come to think of it, I did see the billboard with the twins in it while we were coming to work.’ I thought and took out my phone. ’And I didn’t check the news either. I wonder if they’re just exaggerating.’
"Haha, see it for yourself and then you’ll know." Taiha said.
I checked the entertainment news and my eyes widened.
’What... What is this?’ my hand slightly trembled in disbelief.
It was everywhere. The news of the twins and their pictures was everywhere. And of course, my name was signed at the bottom of each picture.
It was my real name.
Each and every shoot we made was posted everywhere with my name tagged to them. Taiha’s name was tagged as well but he was tagged as a helper.
I looked up at him. Was he okay with this? He was smiling but was it really okay for him to be raged as a simple helper?
"If you’re looking at me because of the name tags, forget it, Kiddo. I didn’t do much after all so my name is where it should be." He said, and from the look in his eyes, I could tell he was telling the truth.
Ah, Taiha... Where did such an angel fall down from?
I looked back at my phone, thinking maybe the twins only covered the front and there were others behind but there weren’t.
It was like Wailers had flushed out every other advertisement and pasted the twins everywhere.
No matter how much I scrolled, no matter how many times I refreshed, it was all the twins. It was all filled with nothing but the twins.
They were so famous that I didn’t know how it happened.
’This... This company, did they go crazy by chance?’ I thought. ’Why would they do so much just for two models? I know they’re confident they won’t receive any loss with the twin’s performance, but this scale of advertisement is just too much.’
"Haha, do you see it now?" Taiha asked and I raised my head. "Do you see why there is a cause to celebrate?"
"I... I still don’t understand." I said and looked at the twins who were smiling at me.
"Hyung, there’s nothing you’re going to say that will change the aftermath. You deserved it." Seojin said.
"With your talent, it was only fair that your pictures would shoot us to fame." Seojun said but that was not it.
’My pictures didn’t do any of this. My pictures... They were just a reflection of the sun in front of me. Even if I wasn’t the one,’ I glanced at Taiha laughing heartily with the others. ’Even if it had just been Taiha, they would’ve still made it. I... I didn’t deserve any of that.’ I bit my lip.
"Hyung?" They looked at me worriedly as they saw tears roll down my cheeks.
"Do I... Really deserve this?" I asked and everywhere slowly grew silent. "It just feels so unreal. It’s not like I’m a designer or a painter. I’m not a sculptor either. All I did was take pictures. Pictures of people who were already perfect and beautiful and... I-"
"Bang!" I flinched in shock, hearing the sound of a flare gun.
But it wasn’t a flare gun. It was a confetti gun.
They shot it above me and the confetti flew in the air, slowly falling on top of us.
"Hyung, we understand your worry but you indeed deserve it." Seojin said and got in front of me. He was so close that I thought he would hug me but he didn’t.
He simply placed his hands on my shoulder.
"In the first place, you’re the one who brought us to the company." He said and I was like,
’You walked into the company on your own two feet, though. Am I the only one who recalls that?’
But he ignored my questioning stare and continued,
"If not for you, we would never have shot to fame. The angle of your pictures and your editing skills... They are absolutely flawless so it’s not just the models that matter." He said and I nodded.
I understood his words. I understood them very well but... It still felt so surreal.
Was this still a part of my dream? Was I sprawled up on my couch and having such a beautiful dream?
Seojun suddenly pinched my cheek a little hard so I could feel a little bit of pain.
"Ouch." I exclaimed.
"It hurts, doesn’t it, Hyung?" He smiled and then brushed it off as if treating a wound he used his own hands to inflict on me. "So, do you believe this is reality now?"
Ah, I saw what he was doing. He knew I was in doubt and that was why he pinched my cheek.
I laughed quite hard and then smiled.
"It’s not a dream." I said. "It’s not a dream after all. It’s real."
The twins stared at me with eyes filled with shock and I turned to see the same reaction on everyone else. W-what was going on? Why were they so shocked?
Was it something I did?
