Is It Wrong To Love My StepBrother Alpha Mate?
Chapter 88: The Sunfire Library

Chapter 88: The Sunfire Library

By the time they reached their final stop, everyone was in awe of Sunfire City, including Alyssa who’d been there many times in the past.

"Sunfire City Library," Victor announced as his driver stopped at the entrance of the steel building.

"So, how many times have you entered this building?" Rae teased.

"I’ll let you know that I come here at least once a week," Victor scoffed.

"Mind holding Ronan for me?" Helena asked as she offered the sleeping boy to Rae.

"Sure," Rae said as she took her nephew and cradled him.

Helena got out of the car and made her way into the library with one goal in mind, finding what she could about the witches and warlocks.

"Helena!" the librarian, a tall willowy wolf with red hair tied up in a bun greeted her. "You’re back! For good?"

"No," Helena said, shaking her head. "Bella, I need help with something."

"What do you need?" Bella asked Helena as they walked through the library.

"Information on Witches and Warlocks, particularly after they all vanished, and if you have information on how to contact the Grand Warlock," Helena told her.

"Oh," Bella said as she suddenly stopped in her tracks. "The Alphas need to approve something like that. I don’t know if I can show you those documents since they’re considered restricted."

"Glad to hear that our librarian is following the rules even for someone like Helena," Victor said as he walked into the library with Ronan in his arms and Rae right next to him.

"You guys are a walking scandal," Helena said, rolling her eyes.

"She has permission, Bella," Victor announced.

"A few paparazzi already snapped photos," Rae giggled. "Since Romeo and I look alike it will be easy for people to think Ronan is mine."

Helena sighed and shook her head.

"Kade is going to challenge that dufus," Helena told Rae.

"I’ll stop him," Rae told Helena. "Victor is helping me so I’ll stop it."

Helena nodded and turned her attention back to Bella.

"He’s yours?" Bella asked as she glanced at the sleeping baby.

"Mine and my mates," Helena confirmed. "Now the documents?"

"Right, right," Bella said as she quickly snapped into action.

Helena could tell that Bella had read differently into her statement, she wasn’t sure how talkative the librarian was, but there was a risk there would be a new name attached to Victor’s.

The restricted documents were all on a different floor from the rest of the library.

It was in the basement and protected by various biometric locks.

Eventually, Bella led Helena to a door that was simply marked with a number.

"I’ll leave you here, the locks only work one way, so you’ll be able to get out," Bella informed Helena.

"Thank you," Helena said with a nod as Bella opened the door and let Helena enter.

Inside were books and files stacked on shelves, all properly labeled.

Helena quickly dove into them searching for either information on her Grandfather or on the witches and warlocks that didn’t leave.

She was shocked to find a collection of all Witches and Warlocks as well as their power levels, according to the documents the files came from her Grandfather’s own office.

She made a mental note to try and visit her Grandfather’s home when she could.

Based on the files he had there were over three thousand Warlocks and Witches and almost three hundred resided in or around Stonehill and Blackmoon Territory.

Another chunk lived in Sunfire City.

"They’re drawn to the Grand Warlock bloodline," Helena muttered as she realized the dates for the moves to Sunfire aligned with when Dora moved there as well.

She’d also noticed that most Warlocks and Witches only had one child, those that had more either had twins or the age gaps were quite big, some spanning decades.

As she reached the end of the records she found a small sealed envelope. It wasn’t marked but Helena found it suspicious.

She carefully removed the seal and pulled out the documents.

The name on top surprised her.

It was hers.

It listed her name, who her family was, what her bloodline was, and where she resided.

The document noted that she was capable of Magic but to what extent was unknown.

After her name was Dora’s, similar to hers it noted personal details. It also stated that Dora was of a High Witch rank.

Helena scanned the document and noticed that there were only about twenty names on the list.

She quickly took out her phone and took a photo of it before returning the document.

These were the witches and warlocks that got to stay, if anyone was doing anything to harm her family it could be one of them.

Helena resumed her search, she’d stumbled on spellbooks she was afraid to read in case it triggered her magic.

She also found some histories of Witches and Warlocks as well as a detailed genealogy of the Grand Warlock’s bloodline.

She read it out of curiosity and was shocked to find Ronan’s name on the book.

"It’s probably magic," Helena whispered to herself before closing the book and resuming her search.

She was about to put it back when something told her to read on.

Following her gut, Helena flipped through the pages until she stopped.

There was something written in a language she didn’t recognize but the writing soon shifted and before her was a spell.

She didn’t need to be told what the spell was for.

It was something that connected blood to blood, a way to communicate with those of the same lineage.

While hopeful that it would work, Helena took a photo of the page before putting the book away.

She needed to show it to Dora, she needed confirmation that the spell was real and that she could use it to contact her Grandfather.

Putting everything away, Helena finally left the room and made her way back up to join the others.

"Done?" Victor asked as he leaned against the entrance to the restricted section. "Find what you were looking for?"

Helena nodded.

"That was quick," Victor commented as they went back up.

Checking her watch Helena was shocked to find that she’d been down there for only five minutes. Something weird had happened and that meant she really needed to speak to Dora.
