Interstellar: Exploring The Cosmos With My Anomaly System -
Chapter 51: Zelr
Chapter 51: Zelr
’War is just a fleeting memory, the bloodshed, the sight of your comrades dying over and over, until you’re immune, it all begins to blur together eventually...’ Zelr stood on the front lines, his blade pointed to a dark sky that shrouded over them, the heavy winds blowing past their garments, the chilling cold the only thing left to embrace them.
They watched across the fields, watching as the other side approached. Zelr raising his weapon to the sky where everyone soon followed. Releasing a might cry to the heavens as they charged in a stampeding rage. The ground cried beneath them until they collided.
’I envy them, dying on the field of battle,’
The sun peeked through as the clouds dispersed, its golden rays shining on the survivors, Zelr sat on the body of his victim, his eyes half lidded, eyes of zero effort. The blood of his enemies splattered across his body.
’To feel the thrill of death creeping up on you, whispering in your ear... I envy them.’ He got up with a soft grunt, his gaze to the sky that had cleared. ’I knew nothing of loss, nor do i know of satisfaction—’
He raised his leg, his teeth gritting in rage as he stomped on the corpse of his dead enemy, his heel driven into his face, over and over, and over again.
’Why,’ He thought, with each strike of his heel, morphing the warrior’s face into a bloody mess, soft splatter sounds spilling at each hit. It’s jaw dislocating under his heel, jaw completely shattered and draining blood into the lush grass stained with crimson.
’Why?’
splat
’Why?’
splat
’Why!?’
splat
"Why am I trapped here!?" He cried to the heavens, his voice stretched across the field in an uproar but he got no answer. The warrior panted, trying to catch his breath once more before falling to his knees. Strands of black hair blocking his face like curtains.
No matter how much he cried, the battles continued, over and over again. Every time he stepped onto the battlefield, he felt like a part of him died as well, the same old routine, just different people.
His gaze landed on the far end where the other side was supposed to arrive. His eyes fell on a younger version of Tanaka leading the fray of his people.
"A chief going into battle?" he murmured, just the mere sentence is unheard of. "Has he gone mad—"
"Maybe they’re hoping to surrender" Someone behind him chuckled, the others laughing with him, but Zelr watched him carefully, Tanaka’s eyes were filled with determination, not cowardice, nor was it bloodlust.
They stopped, the opposing sides staring at each other with intense glares, the silence between them only shattered by the howling of the highwinds.
Tanaka took a deep breath, his hand thrusting his spear to the air and letting out a startling cry, everyone soon following his actions. Their mighty roar felt oppressing, as if a weight was placed on Zelr’s shoulder and his heart started to beat faster.
’Is this...’ He thought, thrusting his blade into the air and roared as they approached them. The two collide in a massive blood bath.
Zelr remained on the floor of battle, meeting the tip of Tanaka’s blade. His breath hitched as it got closer.
"Do you surrender..." Tanaka pondered, watching the warrior’s reaction carefully, awaiting his response. Zelr’s breath was shaky, his eyes shut merely for a moment, as if of shame from his actions to come. His head hung in defeat.
"Yes..."
’In the end, even when given the chance... I couldn’t die— I was too afraid of death,’
’And for that i’m sorry...’
’For all those who stood besides me—’
’I was just a prodigy, a fake who managed to get this far, without really risking his life...’ His fingers dug into the grass, both annoyance and fatigue flooding his mind at this moment, tears flooding his eyes and falling onto his knuckles. Each drop shining under the sun’s attention.
"I’m so sorry..." His breath hitched, burying his forehead against the dirt, practically groveling at Tanaka’s feet.
’I swear,’ He thought, ’I’ll never run again!’

"The only reason I’m alive is because my chief had mercy on me..."
[5 minutes remaining]
He raised his sword once more, his gaze half lidded in an intense focus even as blood trickled over his eyes.
"And I’d be damned if I disappoint him now." His body felt like it was on fire, his head a cloudy mess that he couldn’t put together, right now, he’s working on 1000000% instincts.
Lailla rolled her eyes, her gaze filled with new found annoyance. "If you’re trying to look cool it’s not working—"
Her eyes snapped open, and the first thing she saw was Zelr’s open palm hurtling toward her face. She jerked back, her body moving on instinct, narrowly avoiding the devastating blow. His movements were eerily silent, leaving only a burst of air and a thunderous crack in his wake—a trail of destruction that marked where he had already been in a delayed outroar.
’Where did that speed come from?!’ She thought, swiftly stepping back to get Zelr in her sights, steam practically seeped from his pores, his skin turning an insane beet red.
"Thats..." she muttered her mind wandering to Godric and his deep red appearance, similar to this one.
Zelr’s gaze snapped to her more reserved form, her hands together in the defensive for any sudden moves he might pull. It felt as the ground was crying under his movements, the warrior launching off the ball of his heel, his muscles working over time as he blitz to her in an instant.
When Zelr got within distance, she coiled her arm back sending it flying as hard as she could. The warrior ducked lower, getting onto his arm for support as he kicked upwards, her jaw shuddering under the fierce attack.
"Urk– "Blood came rushing from her mouth at the attack, the girl trying to retreat as soon as possible but was grabbed by the hair, her head driven down into the dirt with a mighty boom, shattering the area around them.
"Is this fun enough for you...?"
