Infinite Paths: The Raging Phoenix -
Chapter 1324 - 1324: New form
Rain moved to the entrance of the cave, and soon, he saw the entire world responding to his actions. As the core sealed on the frozen sphere had been destroyed, all of the red wind of the world began to move and be sucked by the crater. Actually, it was just the bacteria that once had been there returning to its original position.
"I see it now… the bacteria were just a part of the body of something that was feeding off the energy of everyone here," Rain thought.
"That would explain a lot… but I thought that the bacteria were supposed to multiply… I guess that was another lie from Arel," Elisabetha said. "Still, that means that she wasn't lying when she said that she has access to all of the energy of this prison."
Something dangerous was coming, and Rain had no idea how he was going to deal with it. He was trying to heal himself faster, but he could only do it so much… his best bet was to gain some time until the others arrived. They would come a lot stronger than before, so there was no telling how the fight would end, but at least they would have a chance.
Still, it seemed that Rain would have to buy time for quite a while… eventually, the air began to vibrate, and Rain was able to see something massive emerging from the bottom of the crater. At first, it seemed just like a massive silhouette, but that eventually became more clear…
It was a colossal red fly… The colossal red fly continued its ascent from the crater, and as it came into clearer view, Rain could discern the details of its ominous form. The creature's wings spanned an impressive width, its body pulsating with corrupt energy, and a palpable dark and red aura enveloped its entire being.
The resemblance to the first dragons, known for their formidable power, was undeniable.
Elisabetha's instincts, tightly intertwined with Rain's consciousness, began to stir with a mix of recognition and anger. The creature's aura triggered a response within her, a primal reaction to the presence of a first dragon from another world. This indicated the gravity of the situation…
As the massive entity fully emerged, the surroundings resonated with an ominous energy. Rain, maintaining his composure, understood that confronting this formidable adversary would demand strategic planning and a united effort from his group. The stakes had been raised, and the true test of their strength and resolve was ahead.
"My apologies for making you wait, but unsealing this body takes some time," Arel said. "As a species that survived our process of colonization, I must congratulate you all for surviving this much and reaching this far. Out of the countless civilizations that we conquered, only a small handful managed to reach this far.
This is only the third time that I have been forced to solve such problems myself. Surprisingly enough, this is the second time the species of the same planet forced me to take this borrowed body."
There were few things more annoying than an enemy who really liked the sound of their own voice. Still, there wasn't much that Rain could do in that situation… the giant monster was two hundred meters tall, and it passed a feeling of power on the same level as the dragon god… when Rain thought of that, he connected the dots.
"The dragon god… he fought you," Rain said.
"We stopped monitoring your world for a while, and he rose to power," Arel said. "If you met him, It is surprising that he didn't kill you. He is very efficient in dealing with his enemies, just like us. You can see right here what he did before he escaped."
Rain looked below and then saw that massive crater… the dragon god didn't mess around fighting Arel… he probably fought her after he thought that he had killed Rain. Still, her words made Rain thought a bit about the situation… He is very efficient in dealing with his enemies, just like us.
Those words… they summarized the dragon god well, but Arel didn't seem that bloodthristy… Still, her words and actions didn't align with each other… she was one of those who caused the end of the previous Earth, after all.
"Enough talking, Rain," Elisabetha said, and her aura began to overflow from the ominous sword while emitting a dangerous miasma. "This bitch is going to die here."
"These readings, you must be one of the humans that survived until the end," Arel said. "We captured some of you, but the others escaped our eyes somehow. Well, I won't make the same mistake once again. I was waiting for all of you to reunite here, but I can take the final one from the other."
"In your dreams," Rain said.
Even while still equipped with the diligence path, Rain and Elisabetha's rage was combined, and they began to transform his body. All of the hair on his head began to stand, but little by little, it began to burn… at the same time, a red aura began to escape Rain's body… his body temperature had reached a point that even his blood was boiling and evaporating through his pores.
In the next moment, Arel fired a barrage of black bullets toward Rain and flew from one side to the other and avoided most of them… Still, some of them scratched his body, only to make the parts hit a lot heavier. Rain tripped on the ground when his right leg got many times heavier, but soon, he stopped the other bullets by spinning the ominous sword.
Still, even the weapon began to get heavier by the second.
Before long, Arel fired a red beam toward Rain that flew as fast as a laser. Rain used Impulse to avoid the hit, and he barely escaped the hit… soon he saw that the beam pierced the ground for dozens of meters, and it was made of blood…
