Infinite Paths: The Raging Phoenix -
Chapter 1293 - 1293: Completing
It was quite something since Sakaki wasn't trying to deny that. Regardless, maybe they will get lucky at some point and then defeat a lord who has that kind of ability. Still, hoping for that was a bit too much… their best option was truly to wait for a moment.
With a brief respite in the ongoing situation, Rain used the opportunity to explore new possibilities. Curious about the potential to establish communication with the previous zone, he decided to use his Telepathy. Rain had attempted this before, but the skill had not shown any results, leaving him with a sense of frustration.
This time, however, there was a noticeable change. As Rain focused his energy on reaching out through the Telepathy, he detected a faint but significant shift. Instead of complete silence, he began to hear a subtle static, indicating that some form of connection was being established.
It was a promising sign, suggesting that Rain was making progress in bridging the gap between the current zone and the previous one.
The static in the Telepathy connection hinted at the possibility of communication, and Rain felt a surge of determination to push further. It seemed that he was on the right path to unlocking this aspect of his abilities. With this newfound development, Rain eagerly continued to fine-tune his efforts.
"Not yet, huh?" Rain thought. "Still, I can keep doing this since I already unlocked the max level of the skill, and I only have to do it once. The trick of using Telepathy and the jokester path is also pretty good, after all."
Still, the jokester path was incomplete and the first skill had already been maxed out, perhaps Rain could come up with better versions of the old skills.
Level 25: Laughing Aura - Develop an aura that emanates joy and laughter, boosting the morale of allies and disorienting enemies. Those within the aura experience a temporary increase in luck, making them more fortunate in various situations. Allies gain +50 luck per level, while enemies suffer a -50 luck penalty per level for a day.
Level 30: Comedy Storm - Unleash a storm of comedic chaos, overwhelming your enemies with a barrage of jokes, puns, and humorous distractions. The sheer hilarity of the Comedy Storm disorients and confuses foes, decreasing their overall combat effectiveness. Reduces the overall combat skills of the targets by 10% per level for a day.
While Rain helped everyone learn the recent paths, he also came up with some skills for the jokester path. As much as it was annoying, Nigel helped him quite a bit with that since their sense of humor was similar.
"I might be able to use this better as support as well and perhaps even combine it with sound magic," Rain thought. "With Telepathy, I can use a debuff that the enemies won't be able to block at all. How about a sound that makes people go mad or gives me full control over them?"
"The sin paths truly aren't helping you since you are starting to sound like a villain," Elisabetha said. "
"I can't deny that I am truly becoming more unhinged, even though I am not losing control," Rain said. "At this rate, I will have a menacing an ominous and imposing orchestra song being played for me."
As Rain pondered about Elisabetha's words and the overall situation, Danny approached him. Recognizing Rain's expertise in mastering various skills, Danny asked for guidance on the paths Rain had recently been exploring. Having already learned all the skills unrelated to the sins, Danny found himself facing challenges, specifically with the sin-related aspects.
Acknowledging Danny's request, Rain took a moment to share insights into the details of the sin-related skills. He explained the nuances of each sin and emphasized the importance of balance and control. Rain also discussed some new ideas for the Jokester Path, particularly its potential synergy with sound magic.
"Sorry for making you waste time, Dad," Danny said. "Now more than ever, we need to be conscious of our time and yet…"
"No worries," Rain said. "This only shows that you are a good guy with a pretty decent size. You grew to become a good person in all senses, while Danny is a lot more easygoing and playful. My disappearance probably caused you that kind of problem. That being said… no, forget it."
There was no point in mentioning his escapades to the red light district of the previous zone now, after all. Come to think of it, Rain realized since Danny felt the urge to go to such a place, he should have some connection with the power of lust… not like they had any new paths related to it.
In any case, Rain gave his son an extra hand to learn about the new paths faster. He had planned to use the seven deadly sins in combination with some other most basic attacks and skills, but that wasn't necessary in the end.
"We are having a hard time using effectively the Doppelgangers Call effectively since it requires a lot of concentration," Sealyn said when the group reunited once more. "We need that kind of skill to monitor the enemies before choosing to attack and destroy them as fast as possible. Dad, can we rely on you for that?"
"No problem," Rain said. "I guess the best option for the enemies is to attack us all at once to crush us, but they can't expose their backs to each other and to other lords as well, so we need to take advantage of that as soon as possible…"
"There is also the issue that we need to attack them while keeping the base protected and without alerting them with small numbers," Sealyn said. "You also will have to attack them as soon as you find the opportunity since you have the right skills, and recently, you have become stronger than us. Once at least two of the four enemies are dealt with, we will be able to target the others."
