Infinite Paths: The Raging Phoenix
Chapter 1263 - 1263: Almost there

Rain ignored any strategic considerations or thoughts of gaining experience points. His relentless pursuit of destruction left a trail of shattered bones and remnants of undead minions. Still, eventually, he forced himself to stop.

Urgghhhh..." Rain groaned while holding his head.

Eventually, Rain managed to get rid of the shadow with his willpower alone… not like he could have used anything else. His magical or physical strength couldn't help him with that.

"The corrupt power is truly hard to deal with…" Rain thought. "People without much experience will probably succumb to this and become a nuisance."

"Are you fine, Rain?" Jori asked when he approached. "You scared me for a moment with that look."

"You look quite fine despite that appearance," Reca said while frowning. "We were unlucky. The enemies thought that Jori was the leader of the group, so the fight was pretty intense."

Reca, with a broken arm, and Jori, nursing some broken fingers, showed the physical toll of the intense battle. The members of their squads shared a similar wounded appearance, reflecting the challenging encounters they had faced.

The arrival of Seadrei and his group further added to the somber scene. One of Seadrei's squad members was missing, their absence leaving an unmistakable void in the formation and a loss. The toll of the conflict was evident on every face, a testament to the arduous nature of the battle they had just endured.

"We got rid of the giant death knights, but what about the undead king?" Seadrei asked.

"Not yet. Some skeletons tried to run away, and I thought that he was among them, but I was wrong," Rain said. "I left Elisabetha draining the mana from the territory of the skeletons, so if he is there, he should be pretty weakened."

Everyone knew that Elizabetha could only be used to do something like that against the dragons, but soon Rain explained what happened as he guided them to where he left Elisabetha.

"The plan worked, but it seems that we will have a hard time finding the enemy," Elisabetha said. "I can feel his will on the parts of the bones that I destroyed. I can't say if the bones are part of his real body or if he transferred his consciousness to the bones underground."

That was a problem. If that was true, Rain was going to have a hard time sealing the enemy in a core. Bones had the DNA of the enemy as well, but Rain was only used to seal them with their blood.

"... Can you keep draining his mana and destroying the bone structure?" Rain asked.

"That is difficult now since he is aware of it. He can fight back, and the draining Power of the insect queen didn't work this way,' Elisabetha explained.

Rain considered his options… as expected, he had to develop a sealing technique that would work against all kinds of enemies and in different situations. It would be even better if he could obtain all the knowledge of the enemies as well while he was at it.

"The enemy is turning out to be a much more pain in the ass than expected,' Jori said. "But we can't return until we got rid of him in one way or the other. If Elisabetha Wrath and the effects of the insect queen core aren't enough to deal with it, we all will have to help."

The combination of magic weapons infused with the power of Wrath proved to be a formidable force against the bones summoned by the undead king. Rain's plan to weaken the enemy's connection to the underground bones was showing promising results. Each strike, enhanced by the relentless force of Wrath, caused significant damage to the bone structure.

Reca, Jori, and Seadrei joined Rain in the assault, their attacks resonating with destructive energy. The underground passages echoed with the sounds of fractures and collapse as the group relentlessly targeted the bone network. Elisabetha, draining mana and disrupting the structure, played a crucial role in the plan's execution.

As the group pressed on, the bone structure began to show signs of destabilization. Fractures spread, and collapses occurred, revealing the effectiveness of their combined efforts. The relentless assault continued, with everyone contributing their skills and powers to dismantle the enemy's stronghold.

The true test lay ahead as they aimed to expose vulnerabilities that could lead to the defeat of the undead king.

In the end, it didn't take long for the entire area to tremble and the bones underground began to move and rise from the ground… the enemy knew that he had to fight in one way or the other in order to survive, even if his chances were small at that point in time.

Soon enough, the group reunited, and then they saw a giant and extremely long bone structure getting closer and forming what seemed to be the body of a four-legged monster. It was hard to be certain, but it seemed like the body structure of a giant Mammoth or an elephant.

Rain touched the ground again and confirmed that the whole structure had left the ground. Now, the enemy was truly in front of them, and he couldn't afford to let the enemy escape.

"Attack the beast," Jori declared. "It can't hide anymore, and it has only so much mana left."

The group, ignoring the colossal bone monster's imposing side, swiftly launched a barrage of mana swords at the creature. However, their offensive was met with a blast of miasma ejected from the monster's mouth. The mana swords effortlessly cut through the initial veil of miasma, maintaining their trajectory toward the target.

Yet, the dark mist soon encircled them, causing them to lose their focus and slowing their once rapid advance. The oppressive miasma began to exert its influence, gradually impeding the effectiveness of the group's attacks.

"Ugh, not this again…" Rain said.

"Your parameters are falling ten times faster than before," Elisabetha said. "You need to do something and fast."
