Infinite Paths: The Raging Phoenix -
Chapter 1260 - 1260: This might work
The Network of bones probably worked as a conductor to make the undead king control his minions completely… there was also a chance that he was down there. Heading there to kill him and end the battle as fast as possible was probably the best option, but it wouldn't be easy with so many enemies around.
"The giant skeletons can only move within a certain area," Rain said while using Telepathy to talk with the others. "Use this to your advantage."
Soon after, Rain told his squad members to focus on the legs of the monster. So far, only one of them was targeting his group, so they needed to hurry up. When the beast saw Rain approaching once more, it soon readied itself for the battle. But then, all of a sudden, Rain disappeared after touching the ground one more time.
When the monster found Rain again, he had multiplied himself around the left leg of the monster, and soon he punched it countless times, making cracks in the leg beast with each attack.
It didn't take long for the enemy to suddenly swing down its sword… the impact on the ground made the entire area tremble and also made the afterimages disappear, but when the dust settled, the monster suddenly felt an impact on its sword, and when the beast raised the weapon, it saw half of it falling apart…
Rain's two strikes had been enough to break the weapon, but soon, the monster began to repair it.
Out of the curtain of dust, Rain emerged and jumped toward the head of the beast, but the half-destroyed sword blocked his advance… when the monster began to push him down, the creature trembled and lost its balance when some parts of its left leg began to get hit by gray mana swords and the attacks made large pieces of bones fall from it.
Taking advantage of the monster's momentary loss of balance due to the damage inflicted on its left leg, Rain seized the opportunity to charge forward. He aimed to exploit the temporary vulnerability and incapacitate the giant creature before it could fully recover.
As Rain closed in on the massive foe, he focused his wrath-empowered strength and summoned the ominous sword. The dark flames enveloped the blade, creating a menacing aura. With a swift and powerful motion, Rain swung the ominous sword at the enemy's weapon.
To Rain's surprise, the resistance offered by the giant bone sword was minimal. The ominous sword, fueled by the dark flames of Wrath, cut through the enemy's weapon as if slicing through butter. The destructive force of the attack left the monster astonished, realizing the precarious situation it now faced.
As the bone sword crumbled and fell apart, the monster, now weaponless, attempted to regain control of the situation. In a desperate move, it released the damaged weapon and tried to hammer Rain down with both of its massive hands. The creature, driven by the undead king's will, sought to crush Rain under the weight of its colossal strength.
In the end, Rain was hit, but the attack didn't push him down…
After the dust dissipated, Rain appeared below the hands of the beast, and soon, the bone hands began to fall apart. As if that wasn't enough, the rest of the hand was completely covered by dark ice when the remains fell apart… Rain wasn't planning to let that heal or let the beast hold a sword.
In the next moment, the monster took a step backward and began to turn to run away, but soon, it fell to the side when the damage on its right leg reached critical levels and began to fall apart as well.
As soon as the monster fell to its knees, Rain appeared right above it and then swung down the ominous sword covered in dark flames with all his might… the attack passed through the whole body of the monster.
The skill Carnage Onslaught leveled up.
The skill Carnage Aura leveled up.
The skill Raging Havoc leveled up.
The Wrath's path leveled up.
…
Level 45: Berserk Rampage - Enter a berserk state, significantly boosting attack speed and damage output for a short duration. Consumes one hundred points of health per second and gives you the bonus of five percent in speed and attack per level.
Level 50: Devastating Wrath - Channel your Wrath into a devastating attack that deals massive damage to enemies in a wide area at the cost of five hundred points of health.
Rain felt his rage taking over his mind, to the point that the dark flames responded to it and doubled in size on the sword. He kept the path at a low level, but the constant level-ups made the rage suddenly affect him. After decreasing the level of the skills and path, Rain returned to normal, but he still felt bothered over something as he watched the giant remains crumble.
"Elisabetha, you will control my body if I lose my mind to wrath?" Rain asked.
"Only if the enemies were dragons, I would be able to do that," Elisabetha explained. "If you lose your mind here, we will probably target the skeletons and then the others."
A single giant death knight took so much time and energy from Rain… taking his time with the others would make things end bad. While Rain could hear the sound of the battles in the distance and his friends were trying hard, it wasn't enough… they needed something to make the battles easier… All of a sudden, Rain had a certain idea.
"Hmm… this might work," Rain thought while rubbing his chin thoughtfully.
Rain turned around and then looked at the squad members. They looked quite tired, but it was a bit too soon for that. In the end, he told them to go ahead and that he would follow them afterward. After that, he explained the plan to Elisabetha…
"... This might work. However, you will need to keep the enemies busy for a while," Elisabetha said.
