Infinite Paths: The Raging Phoenix
Chapter 1247 - 1247: Archer path

In the end, Rain decided to listen to Elisabetha's suggestion. He covered the ominous sword in a layer of ice magic, transforming it into a deadly, frost-infused weapon. As the insectoid monsters approached him, Rain swung the sword with precision and finesse, slicing through the swarm with chilling efficiency.

The combination of the ominous sword's supernatural sharpness and the added frosty element proved devastating. The frozen edges of the blade left the severed bodies of the flies suspended in the air, creating an eerie and beautiful tableau of destruction.

With each swing, Rain felt the satisfaction of control, manipulating the sword effortlessly with his Telekinesis. The skill had reached a level where the weapon spun so rapidly that it became practically invisible, a whirlwind of deadly force cutting through the swarm.

Rain marveled at the seamless coordination between his mental commands and the sword's movements, creating a dance of destruction that left no room for the insectoid creatures to escape.

The Thief's path leveled up.

You learned a new skill.

Level 45: Poison Mastery - Becomes skilled in the creation and application of various poisons, allowing for deadly and incapacitating attacks. Higher levels grant you the chance to create more potent poisons with an increase of five percent per level.

"Almost there," Rain thought.

Things were so shitty in that world that Rain probably could use everything around to create poisons. Regardless, if everyone there could survive the bacteria in the air, his poisons wouldn't make much difference.

In any case, the fight was being fairly easy… the flies only tried to surround them and make them feel sick with the soundwaves. Their modus operandi probably had other steps as well, but they never had the chance to reach their second step…

Around the time Sealyn was having a hard time reaching and cutting enough flies at once, she decided to use a bit of magic to help. While they had killed a bunch of flies, their numbers were massive, so she felt the need to do more. In the next moment, she summoned some lines of water in the air and then began to control it with the movements of her spear… what happened to that was quite surprising.

As if Sealyn was drawing in the air and the drawings were the death of the flies, the creatures were split by the lines of water with ease. Their distance didn't matter; the lines reached them and cut them with surgical precision. Sealyn didn't only know how to overpower her enemies.

"I guess she inherited my brain as well," Rain said while smiling.

Regardless, the fight was just too easy… the monsters weren't even close to becoming a nuisance to them. Their resilience was laughable… since they could fly, they were the perfect target practices for Rain as well.

The Thief's path leveled up.

You fulfilled the requirements to unlock a new path.

Archer Path: The Archer Path is a specialized path that focuses on the mastery of archery and ranged combat. Archers who follow this path develop a set of unique skills that enhance their precision, speed, and versatility in using bows and arrows.

From honing their accuracy to infusing arrows with magical energy, archers on this path become formidable marksmen capable of taking down enemies from a distance. Dexterity + 05 per level.

Level 1: Precision Aim (25)- Gains the ability to aim with exceptional accuracy, increasing the chances of hitting targets with ranged attacks. Each level increases the distance by ten meters.

Level 5: Swift Draw - Develops the skill to draw and nock arrows quickly, reducing the time between shots and increasing overall firing speed. Each level increases the speed by three percent.

Level 10: Sharp Eye - Enhances visual acuity, allowing the Archer to spot distant targets and weak points more easily. Each level increases the distance by ten meters.

Rain wasn't surprised to see that the archers' path had already come to a level ten, so he equipped it, and soon, the path began to level up even faster with the skills it had. Using the bow became a lot more comfortable as well. Still, Rain didn't have the chance to use his bow properly…

Just when Rain thought of that, he felt something on the ground… it was a slight tremor, but it made him feel uneasy. Before long and without hesitation, he made Sealyn fly to the sky, and then the spot she was in exploded… several holes appeared on the ground, emitting a ton of air as well, creating an ominous symphony.

Rain made Sealyn land where he was as he kept attacking the flies with his arrows. Eventually, the flies retreated and formed a giant wall ahead… they were being controlled by their master finally. It seemed that the insect queen finally had woken up to the battle. That was confirmed when they saw an even bigger monster coming from behind the formation of flies.

The insect queen emerged from behind the swarm, towering over the battlefield with grotesque magnificence. Its enormous form was a fusion of insectoid anatomy, an unsettling blend of chitinous exoskeleton and pulsating fleshy appendages. The creature's body was segmented, featuring shades of sickly greens and browns, with a glistening, viscous substance dripping from its many joints.

Multiple pairs of multifaceted eyes adorned its grotesque face, creating a nightmarish mosaic that seemed to fixate on everything at once. Mandibles, sharp and serrated, protruded from its insectile maw, occasionally clicking together with an ominous rhythm. The queen's antennae twitched and quivered, sensing the surroundings with a disconcerting precision.

Enormous, membranous wings stretched out from its back, capable of producing the same disorienting vibrations that the swarms had used earlier. The air seemed to hum and vibrate as the queen approached, creating an unsettling ambiance that resonated through Rain's very core.

Despite the disturbing nature of the creature, it was a far cry from Rain's initial expectations fueled by entertainment media. There were no humanoid features, no alluring curves – just a nightmarish insectoid behemoth that sent shivers down Rain's spine. His sigh of disappointment caught Sealyn's attention, and she shot him a suspicious look, to which Rain could only respond with a wry smile.
