Infinite Paths: The Raging Phoenix -
Chapter 1245 - 1245: Next plan
"You sure like to stick to that topic," Rain said. "Anyway, it seems that we can use these guys to get a bit stronger. After that, the next battles will be easier."
"Sounds like a plan… but I have a feeling that this is just too convenient," Sealyn said.
Now that she mentioned it… Rain couldn't deny that. Maybe there were some details that he was missing… still, in a battle against numbers, it would be easier to win with their quality. They had already defeated two lords, after all.
"I would feel more confident if we could at least make one of those assholes reveal the secrets of their abilities," Rain thought. "For now, I guess I will make a relic and use the demon king as a core and see what happens."
Rain found himself uncertain about the kind of relic he should craft to harness the powers of the defeated demon king. Given the connection to blood in the demon king's abilities, he assumed that focusing on the Blood Mage path might prove more efficient.
The idea of delving into the details of blood manipulation interested Rain, and he began contemplating the possibilities of enhancing his skills in that particular path. However, the specifics of creating such a relic were unclear, and Rain knew he needed time to experiment and refine his understanding of this new aspect of his powers.
In the end, Rain decides to create a bow. Even though he has no use for a bow, he thinks that it will be fun. Rain's skills reached a point where he could make the string, which was now made of titanium, and still grant it some elasticity. The problems were the arrows, but as soon as he attached the core, the bow was able to summon blood arrows.
"This shouldn't be everything… anyways, at least all the skills in the blood mage path increased," Rain thought. "Using this bow will make leveling that a lot easier, I guess. Hey, Terra. Look at this."
Rain was bored, so he decided to show his nonexistent new skills. After firing a blood arrow, he made it fly in a long arc and then go up and down a bunch of times.
"... You should at least try to hide that you are using Telekinesis," Terra said.
"Who cares about that? With this, I can't miss, even though my skills are subpar," Rain said.
"Anyway, if you are wasting time with that, you already finished the battle plan for the next mission, right?" Terra asked. "What are we going to do?"
Rain found himself torn between various relic ideas, each with its own potential. However, none seemed to fully capture the essence of the demon king's powers. Annoyed with his own indecision, Rain reluctantly settled on a concept that, while practical, didn't particularly excite him.
Sharing the plan with the others, he was surprised when they didn't object, understanding the necessity of the decision.
The chosen strategy involved dividing their forces into two groups. Terra, Seara, Jori, and Seadrei would confront the orc forces, while Rain and Sealyn's group would tackle the insectoid swarms. Despite his reservations, Rain couldn't deny the effectiveness of this approach in dealing with their diverse adversaries.
Now, with the battle plan in place, Rain shifted his focus to preparing for the upcoming battle and refining his newly crafted blood-infused bow.
"A battle on two fronts with our numbers… I thought that you wanted to be cautious," Sealyn said after she crossed her arms.
"Yeah, I want to," Rain said. "However, I think that you guys can pull this off without us while we will try to weaken the insect queen as much as possible. That will disrupt the enemies and if they are trying to work together, it will disrupt their plans."
"We will kill her," Sealyn declared. "I won't accept half-assed plans."
"We can change our goal if the opportunity presents itself, but the goal for the next mission is to weaken an enemy and get rid of another," Rain said. "If things work well, we will kill two enemies tomorrow; if that doesn't happen, we will kill two enemies on the next mission."
Everyone understood where Rain was coming from. He wanted to improve the experience sharing of the group. Since the others in the previous zone will take their time to come because of the time dilation, they needed that kind of plan.
"While I am fine with the plan, this is all almost pointless if we don't learn the secrets of the powers and techniques of the enemies," Terra said. "Besides, how are we going to turn the orc general into a core without you?"
"The relics know how to do that; you just have to use them at the last moment." Rain explained. "As for the other problem, I am working on my psychometry skills, which should help us solve that issue eventually."
The others didn't look completely confident about the plan, but it made sense. Results were everything more than ever now. As far as most people were concerned, the relics haven't been that useful lately.
After a brief period of rest, the group gathered and prepared to move out for the upcoming mission. Rain had the newly crafted bow, a product of his experimentation with the demon king's powers. He was eager to test its capabilities in combat. Additionally, Rain equipped the Thief's path, knowing that utilizing it would speed up the unlocking of the Archer's path.
As the group readied themselves for the mission, Rain felt a mixture of anticipation and caution. The approaching confrontation with the orc general and the insectoid queen required a careful approach. With his bow in hand and the Thief's path equipped, Rain was ready to show everything he got in the upcoming battles and further develop his skills.
The others in the group also prepared their weapons, each understanding the importance of the mission and the need to weaken their enemies.
"Why the sudden interest in archery, Dad?" Sealyn asked.
