Infinite Paths: The Raging Phoenix
Chapter 1232 - 1232: Offer

As the amalgamation of bizarre creatures converged into a single entity, it initiated an absorption process, drawing in a substantial amount of mana from its surroundings. Countless ethereal lines materialized, converging upon the creature as it harnessed the energy to strengthen its form.

The enemy, recognizing the gravity of the situation, opted to exhaust all available resources in a determined effort to eliminate Rain.

"How is that a living being?" Rain wondered while clenching his teeth.

Ignoring the escalating threat, Rain responded with strategic decisiveness. In a rapid sequence, he accessed and equipped all the skills at his disposal within the wrath path, harnessing the accumulated power.

The ominous transformation of the earth around his arms intensified, reaching an unprecedented level of darkness, while the ethereal light within them grew brighter, accentuating the difference of wrathful power.

Level 20: Infernal Wrath - Unleash a burst of fiery rage, inflicting burn damage over time on enemies within range. It causes ten points of damage over time per second for ten seconds per, level, and per hit.

Level 30: Wrathful Surge - Harness your boundless rage to increase movement and attack speed by 10% per level and for five seconds.

Aside from that, there was one technique that Rain meant to test until now… the technique was so powerful that even in that state, Rain could feel his muscles tearing apart and his bones cracking… and yet, he couldn't even charge to attack the enemy… the reason for that was the fact that Rain wanted to use Power Shot as a melee attack.

Fortunately, Rain didn't have to try to hold that back for long. The creature absorbed all of the mana of the surroundings and soon charged at Rain. Both of them punched each other, making their fists collide. The impact had been so massive that Rain's skin, which wasn't protected by the dark giant arms, was peeled from his elbows until it reached his shoulders.

All of the metal in the chamber began to contort and crack, and dark lightning bolts spread around like they were in the middle of an ominous tempest. Still, despite the situation of his arms… Rain was the one who won the exchange… his punch pushed the monster to the opposite side of the room and collided with a now visible wall.

The creature was splashed against the wall and soon lost its form. As for Rain, he tripped forward thanks to the power of his impact and fell with his face on the ground. When he tried to get up, his arms made him flinch… the internal damage was so massive that it couldn't even sustain his upper body weight.

As if that wasn't enough, Rain saw the monster slowly assembling once more… some mana coming from the other side of the wall was restoring the creature…

"Give me a break…" Rain said and then converged his remaining mana into the ominous sword.

The dark flames returned, and Rain used his remaining strength to throw the weapon at the liquid… the ominous sword pierced the liquid metal and soon began to burn it completely. The flames didn't leave the sword, but the liquid turned darker and lost its properties as well, slowly turning into something devoid of any kind of essence.

"I can feel its intentions changing… it must be calling back its allies," Elisabetha said when Rain began to get up. "It has been weakened since it used a lot of mana; now is the time to cause as much damage as possible and force it to reveal its position."

That was easier said than done… Rain was almost out of mana, and his arms were wounded. Still, Rain got up as fast as he could and then grabbed the ominous sword. There was no point in hurting his arms any further, after all.

Rain jumped backward and then tossed the sword in the air. In a single spin, he fixed his stance and then kicked the handle of the sword with a powerful backflip… the weapon pierced the wall in the same spot it hit when the monster was trying to repair itself… but this time, the whole structure began to crack and fall apart.

The structural integrity of the chamber, initially maintained by the mana, began to deteriorate quickly. The once-sturdy walls gave way, and the blue spheres within them cracked under the strain of the collapsing environment. Rain discerned remnants of mana lingering on these spheres, connected by tubes that led directly to the spot where the ominous sword had penetrated.

As the walls crumbled, the tubes were exposed, revealing their purpose in sustaining the chamber's form. Rain realized that the monster had not only relied on the ambient mana for protection but also manipulated it through the interconnected network of tubes and spheres.

Seizing the opportunity presented by the crumbling surroundings, Rain acted swiftly. He recovered the ominous sword and, with several more strikes, he severed the tubes and disrupted the flow of mana. The cracking blue spheres shattered into pieces.

"It seems that after 15.367 years, my journey here finally ends."

The final wall collapsed, and then Rain found a creature in a chair. Most of its body had been replaced by machines; only a few parts, like the heart and the brain of the creature, were intact and inside some capsules with a blue liquid inside.

It was impossible to tell what the enemy once was given their current form since they replaced most parts of their body, but its current robotic form was pretty similar to the other monsters that Rain faced, with six arms and a triangular head.

"It seems that you can't control this body of yours anymore, but you still were able to maintain a domain using mana and those spheres charged with it," Rain said while glaring ominously to the enemy. "Now one offer, are you going to answer my questions without causing problems, or are you going to cause problems and regret them later?"
