After reading a bit about the techniques that their new allies could use, Rain decided to create those paths using some of their knowledge. A bunch of them could use them, thanks to their cultivation techniques, so it was pretty easy and convenient to transform them into paths. It only took a single morning.
"Well, this looks like it will be fun… I will call this technique the Door of Babylon," Rain said after he summoned a bunch of swords around him.
"Yeah, completely free of copyright," Nigel said.
"I don't get your humor," Larisa said.
"Say it, Rain. Say it," Nigel said. "Proof that you are still a true advocate of gender equality."
"I guess I will try now how to understand their abilities to eat monsters and absorb their power," Rain said.
"I guess even Rain doesn't have the balls to say that most women aren't funny," Nigel shrugged.
"Most women are more funny than you," Rain said.
"Well, if you think that is a compliment… you whipped coward," Nigel whispered the last part.
"What did you say?" Rain asked.
Nigel tried to play dumb and stay quiet, he was lucky that Rain was too busy and he didn't have time to waste with him. Regardless, by that point in time, Rain didn't think that they would have the chance to do anything else… the heads of the prison were weirdly quiet.
"The calm before the storm…" Rain thought.
Since that place was completely under the control of the enemies, they should be able to do everything they wanted, so the delay was more suspicious than anything. In the end, Rain decided to get a change of pace while seeing how everyone was doing. As usual, they were pretty busy… so he left them alone.
"Time to get back to work then…" Rain thought.
In the end, one week passed, and nothing happened. No one disappeared either, so people started to feel worried… some people couldn't help but wonder if Orzlan and the others actually told them the truth. To dispel those worries, they had another meeting with everyone to plan their next step…
"We can't stay here forever, and we can't only wait for the enemies to make their move," Sealyn suddenly said. "We should select a group to head to the next zone and prepare the terrain. While others will stay behind and keep things under control."
"That could lead to problems since we are splitting our forces," Seadrei said. "While the lack of action on the enemy's part is a concern, we also could be falling into their trap by moving too hastily."
"While caution is necessary, I agree that we can't be overly cautious either," Regis said. "People are starting to obtain control over their domains, so we have some leeway now for action. By causing enough chaos, we might end up gathering all the attention of the enemies on the frontlines."
"We might also let another massive thing happen, like being captured again, this time to a place with a lot less freedom," Isa said.
Rare as it was, there was an unusual lack of consensus among the factions concerning the current situation. The absence of a clear leader among the humans added to the confusion, leaving them in a state of uncertainty. On the other hand, the Orzlan group, despite being a cohesive unit, seemed remarkably indifferent to the diverging opinions within the other three groups.
They remained open to either option and were prepared to align with the decisions made collectively by the three primary factions, showcasing a willingness to adapt and follow through with the chosen course of action.
"What do you think, Rain?" Roan asked and everyone looked at him.
"... The relics could feel each other presence, even when they were in different zones, so communications between the zones should be possible," Rain said. "The issue is that if we began to move now, we won't have much time to process the knowledge that we are obtaining. However, the enemy might be preparing something big as well… I believe that we should attack them with all our might now."
The room fell into an unusual silence as Rain's words echoed. It was a rare occasion for him to step forward with such a decisive plan. Since his return, he had opted for a more cautious approach, often avoiding the role of a leader and allowing the group to navigate challenges collectively. However, the circumstances had drastically shifted.
They were deep within the enemy territory, surrounded by potential threats on all sides. The luxury of playing it safe was no longer an option. The stakes were too high, and time was running out. Rain, despite his preference for caution, understood the urgency of the situation.
