Chapter 85: Morgan’s Prophecy: My dear, you’re awesome! (Two Chapters, 8000 words, please subscribe)

In the official dungeons of Infinite Paradise, when players trigger and complete side or hidden quests in dungeons of Hard level or above, they may obtain a special item—a Magic Box.

Of course, Newbie Dungeons and hidden dungeons players find in the real world don’t count.

There are four grades of Magic Boxes: white, blue, purple, and gold. Opening a Magic Box allows players to acquire an item of the same grade, be it equipment, an item, or a Skill Book. As for what they’ll actually get, that depends on the player’s luck. The highest-grade gold Magic Boxes might even contain attribute points.

Of course, this is just one of the Magic Box’s functions. If you don’t trust your luck, you can also use it as currency.

In the Infinite Paradise shop, many high-level equipments and skills are outrageously expensive if exchanged only with points, like a Masked Rider’s Transformation Belt costing 50,000 points—simply unattainable for the average player. However, if a player has Magic Boxes, they can significantly reduce the amount of points needed.

A purple Magic Box can offset up to 10,000 points, and a gold Magic Box can offset up to 90% of the points needed for an exchange item.

In other words, a Transformation Belt can be exchanged with just one gold Magic Box and 5,000 points.

Although this still seems like a lot, in fact, even newbie players have a chance to receive such rewards because the drop rate of Magic Boxes is not linked to the absolute difficulty of the dungeon, but to the player’s relative difficulty.

If a newbie player is deemed by the system to have high potential, then in his third official dungeon, he might be thrown into a Nightmare Level dungeon. But this so-called Nightmare Level is only relative to this new player, and within his capabilities, he has a certain probability of clearing it.

So, as long as he’s lucky enough to trigger a Magic Box quest and completes it, this reward could skyrocket him to success.

"So that’s how it is." Le Cheng roughly understood, "You mean, the dungeon difficulty determines the quality of the Magic Box. Nightmare Level gives gold, Hell Level gives purple, right?"

"Not exactly," Edward shook his head. "I’ve experienced two difficult dungeons before and triggered Magic Box quests, but they only gave me white junk boxes, which couldn’t draw anything decent. Even as currency, they were worth only 100 points, basically useless. So even in Nightmare Level dungeons, you could get a low-grade Magic Box—it’s all about luck. Our luck this time is quite good, starting off with a purple Magic Box. If we can complete the quest smoothly, we will definitely make a fortune."

"I see..."

Ignoring the excitement and elation of the experienced players, Le Cheng suddenly thought of a problem. If Hell Level can give out a purple Magic Box, and Nightmare Level gives gold, then what about the Miracle Level above Nightmare? What kind of Magic Box would it give?

The old players only thought that the gold Magic Box was the highest quality, but Le Cheng knew that was not the case.

Infinite Paradise has too many secrets; some information is beyond the reach of a Second Tier player like him. Likewise, Edward and the others, having only experienced Hell Level dungeons for the first time, much less Nightmare Level, certainly don’t have access to information beyond that.

"Brother Gai, we really owe you big time this time!" In his happiness, Nikun came over to Le Cheng again and started buttering him up.

Le Cheng stood tall, "Hmm? How do you know I cleared a Nightmare Level dungeon?"

"..."

At these words, the people who were initially quite happy instantly deflated like soggy balloons.

After Le Cheng’s true strength was revealed, he stopped pretending. A player who had just cleared a Newbie Dungeon suddenly cleared a hidden Nightmare Level dungeon in the real world. That’s not a newbie at all, that’s a true powerhouse among powerhouses. It was then that everyone realized that Le Cheng wasn’t there to lower the dungeon’s difficulty but to raise it!

For such a superior player, even the veteran players had to ingratiate themselves... or at least, that’s how it should have been.

But these past few days, Le Cheng would occasionally brag about the Nightmare Level dungeon. At first, they thought it was novel and exciting, but now, their ears had grown calluses from hearing it so much, and they had become immune.

Bang!

Just then, the Flying Airship gently shook.

Everyone immediately exited the cabin; it turned out that they had reached the airship landing platform in the Imperial Capital and were now slowly descending.

After the civilians disembarked one by one, a Catastrophe Messenger who had been waiting walked directly onto the airship and asked, "Captain Gawain, where is the Divine Envoy?"

"That’s the Divine Envoy," Gawain pointed to Le Cheng who had just walked out of the cabin.

The Catastrophe Messenger turned her head to look, her mouth opening slightly in surprise at the Divine Envoy’s nondescript appearance, but she quickly composed herself and spoke seriously, "The Queen has received Anna’s report; she wishes to see this Divine Envoy. Have the Flying Airship fly directly to the Royal Court."

Gawain was slightly stunned but not surprised; after all, the Imperial Capital was indeed too large, so the airship set sail again.

During this time, Gawain approached Le Cheng and gave him some tips on interacting with the Queen.

Le Cheng wondered why he was telling him this, and asked curiously, "What kind of person is Morgan exactly? Are there any taboos with her?"

Gawain pondered for a moment, "The Queen... she doesn’t really have taboos, but she’s always been serious and straightforward, not given to frivolity. Her personality is quite different from the Emperor’s; she particularly dislikes men who behave frivolously, talk nonsense, act carelessly, and those who are good-looking."
