Incubus System In a World of Women -
Chapter 22: Breaking the System
Chapter 22 - Breaking the System
After Magister Celestine departed with her ominous ultimatum, my family and I retreated to the library for what promised to be a very long conversation about my completely unprecedented situation.
Seven days to figure out how to not accidentally break reality. No pressure there. Is there?
"First things first," my mother said, settling into her favorite chair while her silver-blue aura continued to pulse with barely controlled desire, "we need to understand what normal magical progression looks like versus... whatever you're going to be doing."
Right. The SSS-rank Duchess who serves under a monster like Empress Aurelia is asking about magical progression. Mom didn't get to her position by being weak - she's probably one of the most powerful beings in the empire. The fact that my abilities are affecting her this strongly isn't because she lacks power, it's because her love for me creates vulnerabilities that even legendary strength can't defend against.
Lyanna pulled out several thick tomes, her analytical mind already working despite the way her ice-blue dress kept clinging to her curves in distracting ways. "Standard magical advancement follows established patterns that have been consistent for millennia."
She opened the first book, revealing detailed charts and progression tables. "Normal awakened individuals advance through combat experience, intensive study, life epiphanies, and encounters with magical beasts or monsters. Each level represents a significant increase in magical capacity and control. We know this we once experienced this..."
Sounds like a standard RPG leveling system. Except I bet most people don't get to level up through having sex.
"The power scaling system," Cassandra added, her emerald gown doing absolutely nothing to hide her body's reaction to my presence, "has remained stable since the founding of the empires."
She gestured, and magical text appeared in the air:
[STANDARD POWER PROGRESSION
Novice (1-20),
Adept (21-40),
Expert (41-60),
Master (61-80),
Grandmaster (81-100)
Transcendent (101-120),
Apex (121-140),
Beyond Mortal (141-160),
Ascendant (161-180)
Eternal (181-200),
The Unknown (201+)]
"Most people never progress beyond Master tier," Lyanna explained, though her voice was getting breathier as my unconscious influence grew stronger. "Reaching Adept requires years of dedicated training. Expert tier might take decades for the average talented. So even very few ever reach Grandmaster tier in their lives as mages even for those in the C Rank."
And according to my system, I can potentially level up through sexual encounters. That's going to make progression significantly more... enjoyable than fighting monsters in dungeons.
Don't you agree my cultured mate?
[Clarification: Host can advance through conventional methods - combat, study, magical practice, life experiences. However, advancement rates differ significantly from standard progression.]
Oh? So, I'm not completely locked into the horny route to power?
[Standard advancement methods yield reduced experience gains for your unique physiology. Combat experience: 40% normal rate. Academic study: 50% normal rate. Magical practice: 85% normal rate. Life epiphanies: 90% normal rate.]
So, I can get stronger through normal means, just slightly slower. Like playing an RPG with a minor experience penalty.
[Intimate encounters with emotional connection: 500-1000% normal experience rates. Your magical nature is optimized for relationship-based advancement.]
So conventional training might take a few extra years to reach what I could achieve in months through intimate bonding. That's... actually a pretty sweet deal. The horny route to power is definitely the express lane to godhood.
"What about advancement speed?" I asked, though I suspected I already knew this was going to be complicated.
"Extraordinarily varied," my mother answered, her SSS-rank aura pulsing with power that could probably level mountains. "Prince Adrian von Goldmane reached Master tier level 75 after three years of intensive academy training. That made him the most accomplished male in history since the last few generations in male history."
Kinda pathetic power-wise but impressive given how men were like in this world.
Prince Adrian hit Master tier in three years and became a legend. Meanwhile, I'm sitting here with a system that could potentially rocket me past that in months if I play my cards right. The express lane to power through the power of love... and lust. What a time to be alive.
"The issue," Cassandra said, her fire magic sparking around her fingertips in response to whatever pheromones I was unconsciously releasing, "is that magical advancement requires genuine challenge and growth. You can't simply study your way to higher levels without real experience."
Except my system apparently counts intimate experiences as the ultimate 'real challenge and growth.' Which is both awesome and weirdly fitting for someone trying to dominate paradise secret from inside.
[Standard progression monitoring exists throughout all empires. Rapid advancement triggers automatic investigation protocols. Recommend careful advancement strategy.]
Of course there's magical surveillance for people advancing too quickly. It's like whoever rules this world set up the ultimate damage control system - keep track of everyone's power level to make sure no one gets strong enough to challenge the established order too quickly.
Though honestly? I'm not interested in openly challenging the rulers of this paradise just for some stupid pride and ego. I like this world. I like the luxury, the beautiful women, the comfortable lifestyle. Why would I want to tear that down for some pointless rebellion... unless someone really gives me a good reason to? Like trying to kill...
Perfect Marcus! Just perfect you had to curse yourself.
"There's also the matter of your classification," Lyanna added, her analytical mask slipping as she fought against whatever effect I was having on her. "You're the first being in recorded history to achieve an Unclassifiable rating. Not just the first male - the first person, period. Even the most legendary empresses topped out at SSS+ rank."
Right. I'm not just the first male to reach this level - I'm the first ANYONE to break their classification system completely. No wonder the immortals are so interested in this particular anomaly. I'm literally unprecedented in every possible way.
"The political implications are... actually quite manageable," my mother said carefully, her SSS-rank strategic mind working despite her obvious distraction. "With the sudden involvement of Empress Aurelia and especially the academy's immortal council, no one would dare act against you directly. You're essentially untouchable now."
Mother you're trying to be modest to not mention that not many could dare to go against you?
So, I'm safe from assassination or direct conflict. That's good. This really is a peaceful world where power protects rather than destroys. Though I suspect I'm not safe from ambitious noble daughters and powerful women at the academy who'll want to 'pursue' me. Which... honestly, I don't exactly hate that idea.
"What kind of attention are we talking about?" I asked, though another unconscious pulse of my life magic made every woman in the room inhale sharply before they could answer.
"Religious organizations wanting to understand your significance," Cassandra listed, her voice growing huskier. "Political factions hoping to gain influence through association. Foreign empires wondering what your existence means for magical understanding."
"Noble houses positioning their daughters advantageously," Lyanna added, her ice-blue aura now shot through with purple streaks of barely controlled desire. "Academy students who'll want to... study you closely."
"And academics demanding to understand how you've achieved what was supposedly impossible," my mother finished, though she was gripping the arms of her chair like she was fighting not to do something inappropriate.
So basically, everyone with power wants to either study me, use me, or seduce me to their side. And my family is slowly losing the ability to think clearly because my mere presence is drugging them with magical aphrodisiacs. At least no one wants to kill me - this is definitely the kind of peaceful paradise I can work with.
[Warning: Prolonged exposure to uncontrolled life magic emissions may result in permanent behavioral changes in affected individuals. Recommend developing suppression techniques.]
Great. So if I don't learn to control this, I might accidentally brainwash my own family into being addicted to me or the weak servants. That's definitely not morally questionable at all.
"I need to learn control," I said aloud. "Fast. Before I accidentally turn everyone in the empire into... well, whatever I'm doing to all of you right now."
The three women exchanged glances, and I could see through my divine sight that they were all fighting the same internal battle between their genuine concern for me and their growing inability to think about anything other than how much they wanted to touch me.
This is like having a superpower that comes with a very specific and very problematic side effect. I can see through anyone's defenses and make women desire me, but I can't turn it off without conscious effort.
"The academy will help," my mother said, though her voice suggested she was having trouble focusing on practical matters. "They have experience with... unique situations."
"In the meantime," Lyanna added, her analytical mind still functioning despite everything else, "we need to prepare for the imperial audience. Empress Aurelia will definitely want to assess your capabilities personally."
Right. The empress who collects beautiful young men as personal companions. And who's powerful enough that my SSS-rank mother serves under her without question. This is going to go wonderfully.
