Chapter 88: Pulse Stone

Chapter 88: Pulse Stone

News of the miserable old man spread among the Core Refining warriors and their spines drenched in cold sweats.

Those that had bad intentions quickly threw it out of their minds. They couldn’t imagine themselves withstanding such deadly backlash.

Perhaps, they wouldn’t live to tell the tale.

For a Peak Core Refining stage-8 warrior to fall back to Intermediate Core Refining stage-6, the backlash was too terrifying.

When they all received their techniques, no one made the same mistakes again.

As long as their contract was still valid, the best thing was to follow Mo Jian’s instructions. They all vowed in their hearts.

While the Core Refining warriors went out to complete their first mission, Zhao Tian came to see Mo Jian.

"Young Master, you’re too good," Zhao Tian said, grinning from ear to ear, raising his thumb.

Mo Jian looked at his childish behavior and shook his head. "Why do you come to see me?"

"Ah yes! The Deng clan master wanted to see you. He had been a constant visitor for over a week."

"Why? Is my order not clear enough?" He squinted, his anger rising.

"No. I don’t think so. He insisted there is something important and you will be interested."

"Really?" Mo Jian pursed his lips for a moment. "Call him. Let’s see what is so important that makes him sure I’ll be interested."

After a minute, the Deng clan master was led inside Mo Jian’s office.

"Young Master, sorry for bothering you," he said respectfully.

"I’m less busy anyway. Please, take your seat," Mo Jian responded curtly.

The Deng clan master breathed a sigh of relief when he saw Mo Jian’s calm expression. Taking his seat, he quickly took out a jagged stone from his spatial pouch.

"Young Master, I don’t know if you recognize this stone," he asked calmly, but his voice could not hide his anxiousness.

Mo Jian received the stone without any changes in his expression. Of course, he recognized the stone.

A Pulse Stone.

’Where the hell did he find it?’

According to the Grand Tomes of Mortal Ores, this is a very rare stone, not commonly found.

This was a precious stone. Why?

Simple. This stone had the ability to absorb any force or energy. Just adding a little to any weapon could make them shock-resistant.

With this, he could build a secure vault without worry of external attack. In addition, he had wanted to upgrade his carriage; the traditional carriage was uncomfortable on the road.

Most times, he returned with a sore butt.

But with this stone, he could upgrade his carriage to feel like a modern car of his previous life.

Even though many thoughts were running through his mind, he did not let it show on his face.

"No. Do you recognize it?" He returned the question back to him.

A flash of disappointment appeared on the Deng clan master’s face. They had bet on him recognizing this stone but now...

Even though the stone was useless, the mine where they found the stone did not only produce it. There was still a large ton of Redsteel Ore.

"Young Master, I won’t lie to you. My clan just discovered a mine at the Wind Blade Mountain Range, and we hope to use it to redeem ourselves from our mistakes..." He paused for a moment to gather his thoughts.

"Unfortunately, the mine was filled with this jagged stone. But there are still a few tons of Redsteel Ore.. Young Master, can you please accept the mine and pardon my clan?"

He concluded and looked at Mo Jian with a hopeful expression. If he did not return with a positive result, he knew those old dogs wouldn’t hesitate to tear him to pieces.

Mo Jian did not respond immediately as he was pretending as if he was lost in thought.

"How many tons of this jagged stone are in the mine?" He asked calmly.

"Young Master, we don’t know, but it is above a hundred tons," the Deng clan master lied.

In the mine, there were over five hundred tons of this jagged stone. According to their first elder, that was just the surface. If they dug deeper, it might be more than that.

"So there are over a hundred tons of this useless stone in the mine?" He asked, playing with the stone.

Hearing this, a bitter smile appeared on the Deng clan master’s face. He knew his clan was unreasonable but there was nothing they could do.

This was the last thing that could catch such a young, wealthy tycoon’s attention.

"What of the Redsteel Ore?"

"Close to fifty tons," he responded confidently.

This was their bargaining chip.

Mo Jian kept quiet once again, feigning as if he was lost in thought.

"I refuse!" He said coldly. "With such a useless mine, why should I accept it?"

Ah!

The Deng clan master rose to his feet, his face etched with nervousness.

"Please, Young Master. Just give us this last chance, and we won’t go against you," he pleaded quickly.

"Also, I will send my men to look for a much better mine," he added.

Watching his nervousness, Mo Jian laughed inwardly. ’What better mine? This is far too enough.’

"Fine..." He said in a low voice as if he was already regretting his decision. "Your action made me forgive your clan. But this will be the last time." His voice was firm.

"Ah yes. Young Master, it won’t repeat itself," the Deng clan master replied, afraid that Mo Jian might change his decision.

"Alright. You can leave. Give Zhao Tian the mine deed." He waved his hand dismissively.

"Thank you, Young Master, for your magnanimity." A bright smile spread across his face as he left the room.

’Ah! At last, we can fight for the Cloudsoar Retreat ticket sales.’ He grinned foolishly as he left the third floor.

Meanwhile, Mo Jian’s laughter echoed in the room as he looked at the Pulse Stone in his hand. He got over a hundred tons of Pulse Stones without spending a penny.

"Hahaha! This is why I love business," he grinned. "With such a massive Pulse Stone mine at my disposal, how much money will I make?"
