Chapter 135: Incoming Storm

"Do you really believe the Thousand Wealth Chamber could make such legendary carriage?"

"I don’t know... but they claim a master from their chamber made it."

On the street of the commerce district, a group of young men and women were discussing among themselves.

"Who cares who made it? I know, I know the Thousand Wealth Chamber has become the richest chamber in the capital." A young man responded, his voice laced with envy.

"I heard the auction payment was paid with middle-grade spirit stones. Hundred of thousand of middle-grade spirit stones." A woman sighed, shaking her head.

Such a massive wealth. She dreamed of having it one day but deep in her heart, she knew it was nothing but a pipe dream.

"Do you know?" A thin young man asked, looking at his friend. "I heard none of the five powerful clans bought one. They were too poor to buy one."

"Really?"

His friend widened their eyes in disbelief.

"Yes." He nodded. "I heard they had lost their faces." He chuckled.

"Ahahaha!" They all laughed.

"Not only that, I heard the Artifact Refining Hall also lost face. They tried to bid for one of the carriage but they were outbid. Can you believe it?"

"Ahahah. All these powerful forces are so poor."

"Then who bought the carriages?"

"I only know of one..." He lowered his voice. "I heard the Golden Pavilion master managed

to buy one."

"What!"

"Oh my... Should we go to the Golden Pavilion and perhaps we can see the legendary carriage?"

"Good. Good. Let’s go."

The group quickly rushed to the Golden Pavilion in hope to see the legendary Lightning Wind Carriage.

In front of the Golden Pavilion, a large crowd had gathered all wanting to see the legendary carriage.

This can’t be helped. A carriage that was sold for hundreds of thousands of middle-grade spirit stones. Everyone wanted to see it.

Among the crowd, some were skeptical. They believed this was all lies made by powerful people.

What legendary carriage?

How could a mere carriage be worth that much?

Standing at the highest floor of the Golden Pavilion, a middle-aged man watched the crowd with a proud smile.

"My Lord, this crowd is getting bigger by the minute. I advise we should drive them away." His assistant said in a low voice.

"Why should I do that?" He shook his head. "This is a chance to increase the prestige of our pavilion."

He looked at his assistant and a shrewd smile appeared on his face. "Tell me, if anyone bought anything from our pavilion that is worth one million lower-grade spirit stones or five thousand middle-grade spirit stones, they would have the chance to see the legendary carriage."

Hmm!

His assistant was stunned for a moment before a knowing smile tugged at the corner of his lips. "I’ll see to it, my Lord."

Looking at his departing back, the Golden Pavilion Master turned his head and looked at the busy commerce district.

"A huge storm is coming... Can the Thousand Wealth Chamber withstand it?" He mused, his eyes flashing with anticipation.

Meanwhile, inside the Governor mansion, the governor’s wife was looking at the magnificent carriage with stars in her eyes.

"Hubby, when can I ride this carriage?" She turned and looked at her husband.

"This is a special carriage and will only leave the mansion during important moments." He said, his voice left no room for argument.

"But don’t worry, you will be the first person to ride the carriage with me."

When his wife heard this, a sweet smile crept up her face and she rushed to hug her husband.

"That’s my hubby. Don’t worry, tonight I’ll give you the ride of your life." Her voice low, barely a whisper full of seduction.

"Ahaha. I can’t wait." He grinned and wrapped his arm around her waist.

She giggled and rested her head on his broad chest, smiling like a little girl that had found love for the first time.

"Hubby, what do you think will happen to the Thousand Wealth Chamber?" She asked and raised her head to look at her husband’s face.

The Governor did not respond immediately. "Such a massive wealth, if they were not ready for what is to come, then..."

He did not complete his statement but his wife understood. A huge storm was coming. Can the Thousand Wealth Chamber overcome it?

At the Broken Moon Consortium, their Young Miss sat in her office looking at the expensive jade box.

"Thousand Wealth Chamber..." She muttered.

The chamber appeared out of nowhere and took the capital by storm. It left the previous powerful forces in the capital in the dust.

No scheme or hidden plot. It only took them one auction.

"Let’s see if you can survive this storm..."

While the ordinary people were still clamouring about the Legendary Artifact, those at the upper echelon could sense the incoming storm.

Some joined the storm to make it big while others stood by the side and watched how everything unfolded.

Inside the Thousand Wealth Chamber, all the department heads were seated with a pensive expression.

"I knew it." A middle-aged man muttered. "Those bastards are all sore losers."

"Do they think we’re easy to bully... humph!" Another man snorted.

Others did not speak but their expressions said it all. They were all furious.

Creak!

The door to the meeting was pushed open and Mo Jian with Zhao Tian entered. Instantly, everyone rose to their feet.

"Young Master," they said in unison.

"Take your seat." Mo Jian said and took his seat at the head of the meeting.

"Miss Yang, how is the sales of the Spirit Link?" He turned and looked at Miss Yang.

Miss Yang shivered, her spine drenched in cold sweat. Her lips trembled as she rose to her feet.

"Y-Young Master..." Her voice trailed off, the room descended into a deafening silence.

A silent pressure fell on everyone. Looking at the trembling Miss Yang, everyone sucked in a cold breath.

"Is there any problem?" He asked, creasing his brow.

"Yes, Young Master..." She nodded and gathered her courage. "Young Master, we followed the plan but the people did not believe us. We barely sold a few dozen."

"Young Master, please punish me. I’ve disappointed you."

Mo Jian shook his head. "You did not disappoint me. Take your seat." He said calmly.

"Yes, Young Master." Miss Yang breathed a sigh of relief and took her seat.

"For now, suspend the action. Our chamber will be attacked in the next few days. We should prepare for the visitor."

He turned and looked at an old man. "Have they arrived?"

"Yes, Young Master, they’ve all arrived and are ready for battle."

"Good, let’s see what these old dogs are up to."
