Chapter 134: Agreement.
Inside the room, the previous tension had vanished. The two stared at each other without uttering a word.
Finally, the Frost Moon Sect Master broke the silence. "I underestimated you... not only me but everyone."
"I’ll take that as a compliment," Mo Jian responded with a light smile before he began to prepare his spirit tea.
One of his favorites was drinking tea, most especially, in this type of meeting. She watched him make the tea elegantly.
Everything was smooth like flowing water.
"You sure know how to make tea..." she commented.
"Ah this, this is nothing. Sect Master, don’t make a jest of me." Mo Jian shook his head and laughed lightly before he served her tea.
"Please try it," he said and took a sip from his portion.
She watched him patiently and when she noticed he drank a portion of the tea, she only lifted the teacup and took a sip.
’Hmm?!’ She creased her brow in shock. This was unlike anything she had ever drunk.
Her mind was cleared, her nerves relaxed, and she could feel her meridians getting stronger. Although it was barely noticeable, it was there.
As long as she continued to drink the tea, her meridians would get stronger over time, which would make her cultivation easier.
"What do you think?" Mo Jian asked, a faint smile tugging at the corner of his lips.
"Impressive! I’ve never drunk anything like this before," she commented without holding back her praise.
"Where do you get the tea leaves? Can I get some?"
Mo Jian chuckled. "You can’t find it anywhere. It solely belongs to our chamber. Besides, you don’t need to ask. I’ve already given you."
’Hmm?!’
She was confused for a moment before it dawned on her. The token of appreciation they received after the auction must be the spirit tea.
"Ah! I see," she nodded and took another sip from her tea.
Mo Jian dropped his teacup and straightened his back. "Sect Master, name your price."
His tone lost his previous casualness and was filled with seriousness.
The Frost Moon Sect Master also regained her cold expression and responded.
"Why do you need such a useless stone?" she asked curiously.
"Please, you don’t need to know. Just name your price."
She did not reply immediately. Her expression was unreadable and Mo Jian could not tell what was going on in her mind.
"I’d have loved to ask for the Lightning Wind Carriage, but I know that is impossible," she muttered in a low voice as if talking to herself.
"Young Master, what can you offer us for the stone mine?"
"I can offer you many things. Talismans, weapons, spirit stones, just name it." Mo Jian said casually but his voice was full of confidence.
The Frost Moon Sect Master did not have any change in her expression. For a chamber to create such a rare and powerful carriage, she knew those were nothing to them.
After thinking for a moment, she responded.
"I don’t need anything." She shook her head. "I’ll give you the location and mine as a form of goodwill. I hope if you have any great things next time, you can consider my sect."
Mo Jian was shocked inwardly. He was mentally prepared for any demand made by her. Now, he realized this woman was crafty and wiser than he had thought.
Although she seemed not to be asking for anything, she was asking for a lot. Now, the chamber would owe her a favour.
A favour from the Thousand Wealth Chamber was not something that could be quantified with anything.
"Alright," he nodded. "When we have any good product, your sect would be the first to be notified."
"That’s good," she replied and took a sip from her tea. Her face was expressionless as ever.
A few minutes later, she left the room after giving Mo Jian the location of the Pulse Stone. Outside, she discovered she had regained control of her Qi.
’Terrifying!’ she muttered inwardly.
Who would have expected that just entering a room would be like entering a lion’s den?
She might be a powerful Golden Core Expert, but if she couldn’t control her Qi, she was nothing but a sitting duck, waiting to be slaughtered.
With large strides, she left the Thousand Wealth Chamber.
Others might not know how terrifying the chamber was, but she knew and she hoped her sect wouldn’t be an enemy of such a dangerous chamber.
The departure of the Frost Moon Sect Master did not cause a ripple in the chamber. Zhao Tian, with a bright smile, entered the room.
"Young Master, how was it? Did you get your hands on it?" he asked.
"Yes. The woman was more crafty than I thought. But it is nothing I can’t handle," Mo Jian responded. "Send our men to this location immediately. We need to start mining."
"Good. I’ll get right to it immediately."
With Zhao Tian’s departure, Mo Jian could finally concentrate on the reward he received from the system.
The Runic Engineering reward came at the right time. His plan was to build underground rail transportation, but the engine had been the hardest part.
But now, he does not need to worry. Everything was in the Runic Engineering: Volume 1.
He just needed to digest and study it for a while before he started working on the engine.
"Instead of using Spirit Stones to power the engine, I should use another energy source...." he mused and a bright smile crept up his face.
"What of magnetism," he muttered. "That’s it. Magnetism."
Quickly, he began to formulate a plan on how to use magnetism to move the train.
While Mo Jian was busy with his next plan, the capital was thrown into shock. The news of the legendary artifact had spread like wildfire.
Previously, many thought the Thousand Wealth Chamber was nothing but a phony, but now they realized they were wrong.
They were not just any chamber of commerce but a hidden power focused on artifact refining.
Rumors spread quickly and in every restaurant, tavern, the Thousand Wealth Chamber became the topic of discussion.
