Chapter 59: 59. The Other’s Situation (2)
Note: If you don’t want to see the depraved side of some people (characters), you can choose not to read this Chapter. The content might make you uncomfortable.
Mr. Williams’ face was dark.
After he came to this hotel a few days ago, he was arranged to stay with another family. He tried to file a complaint, but the other party shook their heads and said that there’s nothing they could do.
The situation was already so bad like this.
How could they expect to be treated with privilege?
Mr. Williams wanted to throw money, but the other party said that there are much more people who are richer than him and they couldn’t buy it. Because in this situation, money is worthless.
What they cared more was the food that they couldn’t get.
So Mr. Williams could only swallow his words.
Thankfully, he was still given a room with his wife and son together. They were living with his old partner in the past and his family members. A total of 7 people living together inside one hotel room.
It was uncomfortable.
But there was no choice because there was simply no space.
And the people outside were still being saved one by one.
They could only make do with the narrow space.
As for food?
They would be given one bun to eat. One in the morning and the other one in the evening.
Even if they asked for more, the person in charge couldn’t give more. There was a limited amount of food supplies.
If they think that the situation is too bad and couldn’t accommodate them, they’re free to go and search for their own place to live.
They never restricted anyone from leaving.
But once the words were said, no one dared to actually leave. They had no transportation, no food, no weapon, nothing at all.
In this heavy rainstorm, it was already hard enough to make sure the boat didn’t overturn when they went to save people. It was unlikely they would be able to survive if they went on their own.
"There’s no internet connection here," Mr. Williams replied. "She should be fine with Jake around."
Mrs. Williams nodded but she was still worried.
After all, she knew that Betty is also a pampered girl. If she were to be thrown in this situation on her own, Mrs. Williams guessed that Betty wouldn’t end well.
She hoped that Betty could stay alive.
Brian, Betty’s brother and also Mrs. Williams’ son, was sitting near the window. He was looking outside at the heavy rainstorm. His eyes were deep.
"Father, is it not possible to get out?" Brian asked.
"If we can get out, I would have long applied to get out of here." Mr. Williams rolled his eyes.
He tried to call his friends out there who has some friendship with him in the past. Not to mention answering his phone, those who could connect would gave various reasons why they couldn’t help.
Most of them were about the matter of the rain.
And some others said that they themselves were not in the safe location where they could help others.
Thus, they were stuck in this stupid and dirty place.
"This..." Mrs. Williams also furrowed her eyebrows. She wanted to coax her husband to bring them out, but she knew that he kept on hitting the walls after calling.
"When the situation turned around, I’ll return to business..." Mr. Williams seemed to recall something as he looked at his phone.
It seemed that his entire wealth has been drowned....
Even though he still brought some money when he came here with his family, the rest were food and others that they could bring along with them. The amount was not much but this money and jewelries would be enough for him to start his business again.
Anyway, he still has a lot of money in the bank.
Bang!
As they wanted to continue discussing, they heard loud noises from outside.
Mr. Williams looked at his son. "Brian, you check it out."
"Got it." Brian stood up and walked out of the room. There were some people yelling with a girl on the ground with blood all over.
His expression was placid and calm because this kind of scene could be seen almost every single day. Ever since they came here, it was almost impossible to hope to live in peace when there were so many people who clashed against each other.
"She’s dead." A nurse came forward to check the woman.
"Get her things."
"I’m first."
"Me!"
"Damn it, I’m her boyfriend."
Several people went to her room and rummaged to her corner to take out her things. Brian was among them and snatched a packet of biscuit before he went back to his family’s room.
