I'm the Villainess in the Apocalypse -
Chapter 44. Tears
Chapter 44: 44. Tears
Thud!
The older man fell down.
The younger man saw his older brother’s situation and quickly turned around. He thought that his older brother’s words were correct that this young woman would not dare to shoot.
But they were wrong.
Anna dare.
Bang!
After the young man turned around, another bullet shot towards his head from the back. It hit precisely on his head.
"You should have turn around earlier," Anna murmured in a low voice.
Her hand was still stretched forward, trembling.
This is the first time Anna had killed someone. Even though she knew that they wanted to harm her if she did nothing, but it still weighed inside her mind.
The two dead bodies in front of her seemed to be telling her two things.
The world is changing.
And she also had to change.
’Is it really the end times?’
Anna wanted to cry.
She had read countless books about apocalypse and usually felt annoyed when she read the weak lead. Because it would make things more annoyed.
But when she faced it herself, she felt her body was weak.
They could kill without any qualm and keep a straight face.
But Anna felt that her hands and body felt weak after killing these two. Not to mention, the strong smell of blood seemed to induce nausea.
She’s weak.
Anna knew that.
Reality and books has never been the same and this is what was presented to her right at this moment.
The door beside her opened and Dylan walked out. He swept his gaze across the corridor before moving towards Anna and hugged her.
"Everything is fine, Sister. Everything is fine."
The tears that was pooling in Anna’s eyes dripped down as Dylan hugged her tightly. She wanted to be the proud and strong woman, but she knew very well that at this moment, she couldn’t.
She was not those powerful protagonists in the story.
She’s just a young girl who was barely an adult and now facing the world that was changing in front of her eyes.
She felt at loss.
She felt scared.
She felt overwhelmed.
But no matter what she felt, she had to stand up and faced these all. Because this is her current reality and will follow her into the future she walked.
"Sister?" Dylan called out.
"I’m fine, Dylan." Anna took a deep breath. She raised her other hand and wiped the tears from her eyes.
If she had to be honest, she didn’t want to do this.
But she knew very well that she had to accept this.
Because in this situation, calling police was highly impossible. They couldn’t even get out in the harsh rain.
When they could come, all they could do was to collect the corpse of the victim.
So Anna had to stand up for herself.
"You did great, Sister," Dylan said seriously, looking straight at Anna with solemn eyes. He woke up when he heard movements outside as Kitty was also meowing. But when he came out, Anna had already shot these two.
If he had come out earlier, she didn’t have to do this.
"Meow~." Kitty came out from the opened door behind Dylan and walked towards Anna. He rubbed his furry body on Anna’s legs as if trying to comfort her.
Even if the cat didn’t understand what Anna was thinking, they were sensitive to their feelings.
Anna patted Dylan’s hand and he slowly released her. After that, Anna bent down and hugged Kitty.
"Meow~."
"Just for a while, Kitty. You’re heavy." Anna tried her best to laugh.
"Meow~." Kitty rubbed his head to Anna’s cheek.
"I’ll clean them up." Dylan took his key and walked to the door. There was no way they could let these two bodies left to be rotten in this place.
"Um." Anna nodded.
She no longer looked at the two bodies in front of her and instead focused on the cute Kitty in her hand.
Even if she knew that the world is changing, she didn’t want to see them all the time.
She will face them when it’s needed.
But at other times, she hoped that she will always stay the same as she used to be.
Dylan lifted the two bodies and opened the window near the stairs and tossed the two of them out.
Splash! Splash! Splash!
With the heavy rain, no one will notice that there were two people who fell down and washed with the water current.
Perhaps, there will be people who missed these two people.
But no one will know how they end up missing.
After he finished throwing the two bodies, Dylan’s body was completely soaked. The rain was simply too strong that even if he was standing by the window, the rain water still came inside and washed him over.
"I’ll mop the floor."
"I’ll help." Anna put Kitty down and went back to her room to bring the supplies out.
Dylan watched Anna’s movement and smiled with relief.
